A Chance Will be Ruined

I was finally released from the hospital! it had taken almost another month, I had left a sea of deeply and profoundly confused doctors behind me having literally walked away from an injury that was almost certain to have left me paralyzed from the neck down. other then grabbing the skill "Regeneration Lvl(30/30)" just to help my recovery time, not that it isn't an amazing skill anyway. I hadn't gone into my stats or skills again because I knew how tempted I would be to grab more self healing skills that I would ultimately regret due to their uselessness in most situations (regeneration was an exception as it was one of very few skills that would heal me fast enough to actually help prevent injury and was always active).

The first thing I did upon getting home was take a proper shower, being unable to move or be moved for over a month due to risk of jostling my neck had left me feeling gross. When I stepped out of the shower I looked in the mirror expecting to see my already pudgy self getting even bigger after a month with no movement. I was surprised and a bit terrified when I saw that I had gotten thinner instead. I realized something then, I had been eating a ton while in the hospital and had lost weight even though I hadn't been moving. I guessed that I had been "lucky" enough to have my metabolism kick on full force while I was in the hospital on top of the regeneration skill eating away calories, I decided to do some research later.

I popped open my stats screen and almost fainted, as someone with 10 vitality that caused me some concern as hitting my head could have caused me serious trouble, though I realized the luc Stat probably would have prevented me from coming to any real harm.

the blinking number at the bottom of the screen was wrong, it had to be, I kept looking at it for far longer then I needed to not wanting to believe the reality in front of my eyes.
