Gotham's Dead End Bar

Step 1: Be a serial reincarnator. Step 2: End up in Gotham with Death of the Endless. Step 3: Open a neutral-ground bar for heroes and villains. Step 4: ??? Step 5: Profit. Don't go into this story expecting something serious or (grim)dark. This isn't that kind of story and that's not what I'm trying to do here. This is a story about a bartender telling crazy stories about his time in the multiverse to the villains and heroes of DC. It's practically crack, about two steps removed from a fix-it fic. There is a plot (eventually, the beginning chapters are pretty slice-of-life heavy) but it's never going to be some grand tale of tragedy. In the same lane, don't expect the same Batman/Bat Family that you might be used to. No paranoiax10, dark, and gritty 'Batman can't be/have fun!' Batman. My Batman is more in line with the 'Batdad' concept or the animated series Batman. Also, this is kind of an AU. Not in any major way but some of the story might not match up perfectly with the DC canon continuity. I'm going for a static DC universe. So characters and their backstories are set but I'll be avoiding the major plot points of the comics (Dark Multiverse, Infinite Frontier, etc.) Pat reon.com/dryskies_btb for early chapters. 370k words are already available there.

I dove to my feet, unsure of where or what was happening but the man here to help needed my help. My hands connected with a strange, scratchy fabric when I shoved it hard enough away and threw out a shield around me and the crying sad girl. "I can't hold it up for long," I admit, gritting my teeth as my hands trembled badly enough for the chains to rattle loudly. The woman continued her relentless attack, not letting up when I bite into my lip and drawled more blood. The taste of iron filling all my senses while the fight between our savior continued one until there was a sharp slice through the skin and flesh. "John!" My worry for the person was soon distinguished as the woman hitting my barrier pulled away and dove for something. Knowing that her attention was on something else, I dropped down to the ground in exhaustion and misery. I-I can't see anything... I can only see darkness... My vision... Wh- I felt a jacket wrap around my shoulders as more of my body fell limp knowing that I had no other choice other than to blindly trust the person that the sad girl loved. 〰〰〰 This is the third book of the Power series. This story includes personal aspects of my own life and I enjoyed writing this out for others to read. You don't need the other books to read and understand this one. Hope you enjoy this book!!

The Silverin Travellers are a scientifically modified people. In the world after the chaos, destruction and desolation caused by the nuclear war between Uncle Sam and his allies and Russia and his allies over Ukraine in the year 2022, the earth was no longer habitable and can no longer sustain life as we know it. Human kind has become extinct however, genetically modified humans or human plus have become the new beings that populate not only the earth but the planets and far flung stars. At the climax of the war when the quantum energy and the shock waves rend the earth's atmosphere and the milky way, a group of international scientists, anticipating the total destruction and chaos, calculated the power of the ensuing shock waves and developed a space vessel that can ride the shock waves across galaxies and beyond. For some reason, the modified humans are not able to pass on the human plus DNA to their offspring. Each foetus has to be injected during it's second trimester within the womb with the plus enhancement required by the environment the child will live in in order to enable them to live in the environment successfully and effectively. Narin was born enhanced with abilities to suit her group of people. They're travellers in space that do not need space vessels to travel between planets and galaxies. Their brains were enhanced to enable them to fold time and the space fabric to create holes to allow them to walk through from one galaxy or planet to the next. Toby is a miracle that was born a hundred percent naturally but with all human faculties intact including naturally enhanced abilities to function in their environments. These mutants were the decedents of people from far flung places at the periphery of the destruction who survived and lived as zombies, ghosts and decaying corpses who cannibalised and became vampires to survive and mutate over three thousand years. Now five hundred years later, a chance meeting in a far flung galaxy light years away from desolate earth. The modified human and the mutant meet. Will they overcome their mutual aversion to the physical package that is their bodies and look into the soul that reside there? That's the challenge mixed with the idiosyncrasies of the company they each keep.
