Sports Festival. (Part 2)

{POV Ryuu.}

"STAAAAAAAAAART!!!" Present Mic screamed over the system. Officially starting the beginning of the U.A. Sport Festival.

I didn't even wait until the end of the scream, the moment I heard Present Mic speak, I bolted from the starting line.

I wasn't the only one that followed as I felt the presence of Mei, Bakugou, and Fumikage. I could even hear Mei's laughter from behind, making me smile.

I even looked behind and almost tripped because Mei was decked out in a custom gym uniform… if you could call it that. It looked like advanced armor in the development stage. But when Mei saw me look behind she blew me a kiss while winking.

But as I left the starting tunnel for the race I saw something that I hadn't seen since the recommandation exam. I even started to hear multiple voices cry out in fury as it seemed Shoto had decided to freeze everyone to the ground with his ice as I felt a slight chill in the air.

"Here come the obstacles, and so suddenly!! From the very outset the first barrier will be a robo inferno!" Present Mic yelled out mcing the whole of the event.

I even heard the muffled voice of Aizawa in the background saying he was forced here.

Mic let the man recover… he's a mummy for Ancient sake.

I shook my head as I focused. "Ah the giant robots, well this should be fun. I wonder how the others will fare against them." I said with a smile as I leapt into the air striking one of the giant robots in the middle of its chest.

A dark red flame covered my fist as I imbued it with the heaviness of my war energy.

The moment my fist connected a small ripple formed as it started to spread inward. Making the metal twist and wrench itself creating a hole in its chest all the way through to it's back.

I didn't wait as I charged through the whole and started to ignore the rest of the giant robots as they were very slow and clumsy.

I just treated them like a giant playground as I leapt and flipped from robot to robot.

But as I traveled through the mass of giant robots, rumbling of explosions, breaking of metal, and a chill was felt from behind.

I even heard Mei describing what her super cute babies were capable of as she showed them off, which made me laugh.

I even started to watch the other students race through the obstacle course atop a destroyed robot so I could gather some information on what the other students besides my class were capable of.

But as I watched I noticed that Shoto had frozen a mass group of robots in a peculiar manner that would make them collapse.

I even clapped a little as it was a good idea, but when the robots started to fall I noticed Eijiro and Mezo worked together to destroy and save others who would've been harmed.

I frowned as I was a little disappointed, yeah sure some of them have a good ability, but some weren't the best.

"Don't get ahead of yourself Ryuu!! I told you I'd stand beside you!"

I smiled when I heard Mei's teasing and lovely voice, but when I turned around my jaw dropped slightly as she was flying. Yes flying as Mei was wearing a pair of jet boots or something.

Mei just smiled as she charged toward me. Making me smile, before I noticed Bakugou right behind Mei with a fierce and determined look in his eye. I even saw Fumikage using, dark shadow like a grappling hook as he swung from robot to robot. Tsuyu was even leaping from robot to robot with a challenging look in her eyes.

I just started to laugh a little and cracked my neck before heading towards the next obstacle. But when I saw the next course I just started to laugh as I increased my speed.

Well I am feeling a little froggy, so I guess I'll leap.

"Well then missy, if the first barrier was such a cinch, then whaddya think of the second!?" Present Mic tauntingly said through the speakers. "You fall, and you're out!! If you don't like the idea then too bad, that or crawl to your mother!! It's THE FALL!!"

I didn't even turn around during this obstacle course as I continued to leap and leap from platform to platform. But when I was nearing the end of the course I noticed multiple familiar presences making me smile.

"Mei, Bakugou, Tsuyu, and Fumikage. It seems as though this whole first challenge for the sports festival was hardly a challenge for any of them. Eijiro and Mezo aren't that far behind either, but they seemed to be helping the other students because of, icy-hots' attitude."

Honestly I was disappointed with how Shoto was behaving as it seemed as if he was trying to prove something to someone. How sad… I guess that'll be a problem for another time, gotta go.

"Oh, would you look at that everyone? It seems as if Ryuu has made it to the last part of the obstacle course with Mei right on his tail. The hidden and final barrier, otherwise known as… the mine field right out of Rambo 3!!" Present Mic roared with enthusiasm.

"It's set up so that if you look carefully, you can see where the landmines are placed! So strain your eyes and feet! In any case they're landmines, so they're not overly lethal but they bang big and bright, so… just don't place many together."

I almost tripped when I heard Present Mic say the word mine.

Are you freaking kidding me!? A minefield… again who in Ancient thought that was a good idea for a bunch of damn kids.

I mean I know that they won't kill or maim any of the students, but still.

I didn't even pay attention to the mines as I danced through them. But when I was about half way through the field I saw Mei closing in as she was gliding over the top of the ground.

Skating right over the top of the mines and easily avoiding them with a look of ease on her lovely face.

"The loser has to do whatever the winner says!!" Mei yelled with a smile as she was right behind me.

"You're on!"

I smiled as I increased my pace as did Mei.

"Would you look at that? It seems as if one of the support department kids has caught up to Ryuu for the lead. Will she be able to overtake him and show everyone not to underestimate the other classes!!" Present Mic yelled through the speakers making me frown.

I've never underestimated anyone, as the moment you do you've already lost. I didn't let Present Mics announcement trip me up as if anything he was the one who underestimated Mei.

Mei's a fucking genius, a hell of a fighter, and the Empress of my heart. And so much more.

It seemed as if both Mei and I were in our own little world. I danced through the minefield while Mei glided over the entire minefield. I almost wanted to stop and just take Mei's hand in mine and dance with her across the field while looking into her eyes.

"It's close folks as the two students race toward the finish line soon to reveal the winner of the first event! Who will it be!? Come on, cheer them on and let them feel your enthusiasm and praise!!" Present Mic roared hyping up the crowd. Making the whole stadium start to shake a little.

The crowd went wild. Their screams, cheering, and stomping of their feet sent chills across the entire stadium as they cheered, wanting to see who would come out on top in the first event.

I ignored them as did Mei as we both focused and continued to race towards the finish line getting closer and closer until…

"It seems as if we have our winner of the first event!! Yamamoto Ryuu, of class 1-A finishing just a few feet ahead of the second place finisher! Mei Hatsume, of class 1-H!" Present Mic yelled out sending the entire stadium ablaze with passion.

I didn't even hear when Mic announced the winner of the first event as my focus was on Mei as I started to walk towards her with a smile on my face.

Mei smiled a cheeky grin when she saw the look on my face as she slowly walked towards me also.

"So, what does the winner have for the los-"

I didn't allow Mei to finish as I picked her up and gently embraced her in a hug and gave Mei a very deep and loving kiss.

Mei seemed to be rather surprised but quickly responded back.

"Just this." I said softly as I looked into Meis eyes which made her blush as a sweet and lovely smile formed on her lips.

"You're bold Ryuu." Mei said as she looked around the stadium and started to chuckle. "And it seems your boldness has an effect as most if not all of the crowd is shocked by our display."

"Let them be." I said as I placed another quick kiss on Mei's lips before watching the rest of the first event finish. To a roaring crowd, but a silent Mic.

I smiled when I saw who finished after Mei.

Bakugou came in third with a smirk and a look of challenge on his face as he slid his thumb across his throat with small explosions following behind his thumb.

Fumikage surprised me as he came in fourth, as Tsuyu came in right after him in fifth with a bright and happy smile on her face.

Mei even ran over and hugged Tsuyu after she finished, which brought a smile to my face. Eijiro came in sixth with a small look of disappointment on his face while Mezo came in right behind him.

Finally, hero boy Deku and Shoto finished right after the other did, which seemed to frustrate Shoto.

I stopped paying attention after Shoto finished as Midnight shortly called out saying that the event was over and showed the remaining results.

"Alright, the top 42 have earned the right to advance! Sorry for the kids who failed, but take heart, the festival's showstopper is still being prepared! And now for the post preliminaries, the final selection!" Midnight shouted out while clapping her hands.

"From here on out, even the press corps will teem in a white hot form of excitement, so go all out!! Now without further ado next for today's heart pounding second event!!" Midnight shouted out as she posed and pointed towards another screen.

"Behold!!! Human Cavalry Battle!!!"
