Sports Festival. (Part 1)

{POV Ryuu.}

It was a busy two weeks all the way up until the festival, I made sure to push everyone who joined in for training. As I pushed them through a 'hell training course'.

Mei seemed to enjoy the entire training period as she was able to break a record for how many times she could break my hand until the festival started. She even got really close to Tsuyu, becoming really close friends and even started to make special super cute babies and equipment just for her.

But out of everyone that joined and survived their hell training course, none of them quit or dropped out in the middle. I was rather impressed with how much everyone advanced with the development of their ability and increasing their battle prowess.

Bakugou seemed to become more focused and calmer making him dangerous, like a sleeping volcano. I had to really go all out when going against him as he was one of the more challenging brawlers of the group.

Eijiro's ability was something else when he really started to use it for combat rather than defense. There were even times when I had trouble breaking his defense when we were sparing, but when he landed a blow it felt as if a small mountain struck.

Mezo had taken the manual I had given him previously and was able to master the basic form allowing him to really pack on the power behind his fists while increasing his speed. I could say for certain that Mezo was physically able to keep up with my strength and would make for a terrifying opponent.

Fumikage on the other hand was really something else, especially his dark shadow. Sure it's biggest weakness was light, but when darkness arrived, it was like fighting against darkness incarnate. Training with him was intense as it was fun, I couldn't believe how terrifying yet amazing his ability was.

But when it came to the training of Tsuyu, Mei made sure to not involve me at all as she said she had already planned the perfect training menu for Tsuyu.

I didn't argue with Mei, but when I did try to peek at what their training was like… I almost became blind in one eye.

Because of the intense training I was able to master more of my war energy. Even finding more ways to apply it to my current techniques.

Before I knew it two weeks flew by as the Sports Festival finally arrived.

Bakugou and I were having an intense discussion as we awaited the beginning of the sports festival. Eijiro, Mezo,Tsuyu, and Fumikage seemed to be having a really hard time not to laugh because of what Bakugou and I were arguing about, almost at each other's throats.

"No, no, no, I'm telling you that's not the best way to cook a damn roast! If anything you'll burn it or rather create a hockey puck instead!" I said with a look of frustration on my face as Bakugou banged the table with a fierce look in his eyes.

"Bullshit, you've just never tried it that way! It's the best way to properly cook it!" Bakugou said as small sparks of explosions started to go off in his palm.

"All right, all right, calm down you two," Eijiro said in an exasperated tone as he wanted to continue but stopped as both Bakugou and I glared at him… before bursting out with laughter. Making the rest of the table laugh.

Then our VP took it upon himself to announce that the start of the sports festival was about to happen.

"Everyone, are you prepared!? It's about time for the festival to start!"

Everyone at our table smiled as they were ready to show their advancement from the hell I put them through. As was I.

"Go all out. Don't hold back. Remember not only will the whole of Japan be watching, but so will everyone else," I said with a challenge as everyone started to smile and nod their heads. "Good because I'll be doing the same."

But as I was about to stand and loosen my muscles, I noticed that Shoto called out to Deku, challenging him. Saying objectively he was above him in practical strength, while also saying that he was going to beat him. Then I noticed that he set his sights on me.

I started to chuckle to myself as I started to loosen my muscles.

"Don't even think about it icy-hot, with your half assed attitude you wouldn't be able to beat me on my weakest day." I said without looking at Shoto as I continued to stretch. "Besides, the hero boy has a better chance of beating you than you think."

I felt the room go silent as I opened my eyes, only to notice that everyone was staring at me with raised brows and looks of astonishment. I even heard Tsuyu giggle a little before everyone heard Present Mic's voice announcing the start of the festival.

But before we all started to head out into the tunnel Tsuyu walked up to me with a look of determination in her eyes.

"I want to talk to you after the end of the sports festival, Ryuu. I have something I wish to discuss or ask of you." Tsuyu said with a small smile on her face, before she quickly headed down the tunnel without waiting for an answer.

I was rather surprised and interested in why she wanted to talk to me after the sports festival, but I just smiled as I started to head out into the tunnel.

"Well, let the games begin. And may the victor belong the spoils." I said quietly as I entered the stadium.

{Within the crowd.}

Within the mass group of people in the stadium, a certain pair of parents were beyond ecstatic as they watched the group of students from class 1-A enter the stadium as Present Mic introduced the class.

"Look, there he is honey! Look, look how handsome and confident he is." Inari screamed at the top of her lungs as she shook her husband back and forth. As tears started to form in the corner of her eyes.

"Yes, yes I see him. He looks very dashing and sauve." Itami said as he continued to be rocked back and forth by his wife. But the look of pride on his face never faltered as he watched his son.

To them they were just happy to see their Ryuu in a setting where he could shine and show off.

{POV Ryuu.}

The roar of the crowd and the feeling of multiple eyes baring down with judgment was a familiar feeling I welcomed. I even closed my eyes as I started to bask in the heaviness of the stadium as it reminded me of the battlefield taking a deep breath before opening my eyes.

Present Mic started to introduce the rest of the classes, but I noticed that not a lot of enthusiasm was drawn toward them as it seemed we were the main focus.

"Can you draw out your best performance with so much gazing from all directions?" Ida asked as he looked around.

But as the crowd started to get a little over excited a crack of a whip echoed across the stadium drawing multiple looks. As the crowd's attention was drawn to the rather eccentric and R-18+ only heroine Midnight.

"Now, now play fair," Midnight said with a playful tone before she cracked her whip again to silence the rambunctious crowd. "Now the student representative Yamamoto Ryuu of class 1-A! Join me on the stage!"

I smiled slightly when my name was called, but almost stumbled when I heard a couple of very familiar voices whistle and whoop from the audience. I even heard Deku's gasp of surprise when I was called onto the stage.

"Sensei. I'll make this short and simple," I said with a smile on my face as I turned to face the crowd of students. "Bring it on, bring everything you have to the table. Don't hold back, because if you do, you'll never make it nor will you be able to stop me."

Everyone went silent before a roar of anger, boo's, and insults flew out of everyone's mouths.

I just smiled as I drew my thumb across my neck showing my answer. Which seemed to draw more of their anger.

"All right, with that amazing speech we can directly move onto our first event! Onto the preliminaires, as they're called, lots of fine folk end up choking on their tears here every year as this first year's round of destiny is… this!!" Midnight spoke with enthusiasm and seduction as she pointed to a screen.

"An obstacle race between all classes! The entire course makes a nearly 4km ring around this stadium! We love and always sing about our freedom on campus, well this is what it's all about! You're free to do anything, anything so long as you remain within the course!"

I was rather curious when Midnight said that we were free to do anything as long as we remained in the course as that 'anything' was open for danger to happen. But I doubt they'll allow certain types of behavior to go on during the festival.

I started to tune out the mass voices of the crowd as the start of the first event was about to start as everything started to go silent.

Ah, the sweet sound of silence. Such a blissful and wonderful feeling.

"STAAAAAAAAAART!!!" Present Mic screamed over the system. Officially starting the beginning of the U.A. Sport Festival.
