Elusion or Illusion?

A perpetrator, betrayer, most importantly a liar….. What circumstances would make a person lie? Would they ever feel remorse? Would a small lie ultimately be the cause of one’s trauma and possibly even death? Nisa Novak, a woman who tries to elude her past. Lies were something she would say on a daily basis with no guilt, as the world she deemed, 'deserved it'. Amidst all this, comes a variable she had never thought would; an innocent soul. Unexpected events, cause her to ultimately find a lie that would cause her downfall. Stuck between truth and lies she can no longer discern, she chooses the easiest way to save herself, ignorance. This is the villain’s side of the story instead of the victim’s. Her only key to salvation probably lies in the 2040's technology. "Everything is gonna be okay." "Will it ever be?" Or was it all just an Illusion?

HYPOCRISY

It's no surprise my room is the attic. The room was warm-almost suffocating.I made my way towards the nearest window and opened the window letting in the cold but breezy air into the room.I turned on the lights; the dim light revealing the room full of antiques-once owned by my mom.well maintained.I have no concerns whatsoever as to why I know this.I just do. I'm glad I do. No cobwebs nor a speck of dust, I suppose I didn't owe them any complaints concerning my living space.

But, is this really what she deserved?

Might I have entered into another world regardless of the body I'm presently in? I'm the same person- I was just in the body of another being morphologically similar to me with the same name but a different past and future. hmph. I haven't died yet. Have I?

I sighed and walked past all the random furniture until I came across an old mattress leaning against the glass window.I lifted the mattress and with a hmph placed it onto the bed frame. I sat on the bed hugging my knees to the chest.

Can I survive this?

I still wasn't thrilled to be introduced to a whole new world though knowing why I was here. Water droplets started flowing down the window panel. Rain. I slid myself towards the farther end of the bed so I could lean myself against the headrest of the bed. And so I sat there for a while glancing through the window-rain drops running down the window.perfect weather.

After I could recharge myself in the best way possible I walked towards the bathroom figuring I needed a change of clothes. I rinsed my mouth and face then took a decent shower combing my hair into a neat bun trying to keep the hair off my face;wrapping myself in a towel I looked for clothes in the closet next to the bathroom.

I put on a grey hoodie with black pyjamas covering myself in the best way possible.Though the word "closet" might be a bit of an exaggeration for the three pairs of clothes I could find there.I'll have to upgrade the closet sigh.

Another trip to the ol man's den?

Before I could go look for him I wore my glasses hoping I'd receive contacts soon after.

I once again entered the elevator and asked the system what floor I could find him on. No response.Guess he's not home. My stomach rumbled as I found myself near the dine-the smell of eggs and bacon filling the place as I entered the dine. I saw two more young men(a.k.a my blood brothers) sitting there. I didn't find my father, guess he really wasn't home.

Everybody looked at me as though they'd seen an alien. While their stats popped up as usual. The guy with neatly combed gelled blonde hair and ocean blue eyes sat on the right side.

NAME: CYRUS NOVAK

AGE: 27

RANK: SS

ABILITY: SHAPE SHIFTING

Adjacent to him sat a guy who looked a lot younger with silky dark brown hair covering his forehead and had green eyes.

NAME: AIDEN NOVAK

AGE: 23

RANK: S

ABILITY: TELEKENEISIS

Ohh.. where's the other one? There should be one more but I wasn't all too interested... so I didn't think much. On the other side sat the woman carrying the usual annoyed look on her face whenever she saw me. Tony sat next to her and the guy seemed afraid ,biting his nails and then reluctantly hiding them under the table as though determined not to show his vulnerability. The sight was hilarious.

I walked over to his place and took his freshly toasted bread( I just took one of 'em I was being kind) ,spread some jam on it while he glared. I munched em down and boy it felt like heaven! Out of nowhere a plate from the counter flew towards me.

Nice try Aiden! Before it could graze my face, a wine uprooted from the ground below and caught hold of the plate while I helped myself to some more of the bacon. I looked at the guy.... and boy, he looked like he'd kill me the next second. I smirked at the guy while politely satisfying my stomach. He had a surprised look on his face, the guy next to him bearing the very same look.

Ah, they realise it, don't they?

Nevertheless I walked out of the room, the other guy following me out of the room. He tried grabbing my arm by the wrist, Same trick twice? Do all the guys in their twenties have puberty? Once he was off my back, I turned around and my glowing eyes met his.

"How did you do that?"

"Duh, with my powers"

"I know - but how? Aren't you autistic? How are you defending yourself so accurately?" He spoke with more aggression this time and damn, my anger rose. Bearing the most annoyed look my face muscles could create, I slapped him.

"Like this. Any more questions?" This time a knife came for me, he still hasn't learnt his lesson. My trusty wines grabbed it. The wines that were restraining his hands, now slammed him against the ground growing tightly around his body. With each second they grew tighter. As he grunted and moaned with pain in front of me, I scrooched down next to him and gave him a condescending look.Cyrus came out of the room and quickly walked towards his brother. He stared at me for a few seconds - a look of disbelief in his eyes.

"I apologise for his unruly behaviour but isn't this a little bit too much. You're still his sister." There wasn't an ounce of sincerity in his words. Also what's with this family trying to display their familial affection towards me? It's pissing me off.

"Ohh! So am I the only one who is supposed to think about being a sibling while that rabid dog barks whatever the hell he wants. And let me get this straight, you people are not my FAMILY! so stop trying to manipulate me. Your hypocrisy is even more disgusting, why don't you speak what you really want to?"

Cyrus stood speechless as I threw the knife so it could land between his legs. I didn't want to stay here one more minute. I asked my system to locate a way out of this place. I followed it and walked past Cyrus. It was like walking through a maze, huge hallways and servants walking here and there. I came out of the passageway and entered a large bright room with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

Living room? Large sets of sofas surrounded a table placed at the centre. The television placed opposite to the sofas looked almost as big as a cinema screen. There were two connecting stairways from either ends of the room with a passageway connecting them. I was currently standing at one end of the stairway on the passageway. I walked down the stairs.

As I walked past all that obnoxious furniture, I saw a huge door almost the size of a grizzly bear. How can anyone even open this door? How do I get past this?
