Chapter Four

“The first few days in Wyoming was amazing dad. The Jetsons planned on going to all sorts of attractions, restaurants, shopping, and they even joined a march for pro-choice. At one point Alfred even tried to get us to go on a double date with random guys. Hana and I just ran away though.” Juliette laughed as she continued to paint her nails black.

“From the photos I can tell you guys are having plenty of fun! Adam and Alexie have been ditching us this entire trip, but they join us for dinner which is nice.” Her dad informed.

“Juliette!? Hana!?” Alfred called from downstairs.

“You got to go sweetheart?” Her mom asked over the phone.

“Yeah, that’s me. I’ll give you guys a call tomorrow to tell you about the concert. I love you both so much and make sure you have fun and unwind.” Juliette said as she gave then smooches over the phone.

“Bye sweetie! Have fun and we love you too!” Her parents said in unison before hanging up.

“Sorry I was doing my nails and calling my parents before the concert tonight.” Juliette apologized.

“No need to say sorry darling.” Alfred reassured. “I need a favor from you two; can you please pick up some glitter from the store down the street? I totally forgot to pack Diego’s glitter and I don’t want his to chew me out before pride.”

“Of course papa! We got you. Where is dad?” Hana asked as she got her shoes on and took the car keys off the wall.

“He’s in the shower and I’m suppose to join him if you know what I mean.” Alfred winked as both of the girls pretended to gag.

“Okay bye! I know what glitter to get, bye papa!” Hana said in a rush as she pulled Juliette out the house.

“Hana!” Juliette laughed, “My shoes!”

“Put them on in the car before they fuck.” Hana laughed as they got into the car and drove off to the store not too far from the street.

“Hey while you find the glitter, I’m going to get some chips alright?” Juliette asked.

“I don’t think they’ll have it here.” Hana said unsure.

“It’s a drug store, they have everything.” Juliette said before they parted way. She made a straight line towards the chips isle already knowing what she wants. However, as she got closer to the chip isle, Juliette began to notice a strong cigarette smell coming and a few women complaining about the scent.

Then there he was when she turned the corner into the chip isle. Was this Juliette’s spring break romance that only happens in western movies? Who was she kidding. Juliette quickly snapped her self out of her thoughts over the guy trying to choose between Doritos cool ranch or Miss. Vickie’s jalapeno kettle chips. Juliette couldn’t help but admire how hot he was. He wore black Nike shorts, shirt, and shoes co-order. His hair was slick back with an undercut and had a piercing on his left eyebrow. Then again Juliette snapped herself out of those thoughts. This is a random guy that she will probably never talk to again, there is no point in trying to fantasize a romance that could never happen. Plus, he smokes and that’s a red flag in Juliette’s book.

She mustered all the courage she could get and walked right up to him, worst case scenario is that he thinks she is crazy, but the best-case scenario is that she gets his number. Juliette grabbed the cigarette from his mouth, placed it on the floor, proceeded to stop on it, and picked it up to place it in his hands. “This is a no smoking zone in case no one has told you.” Juliette said as the guy looked at her amazed.

“No fucking way you just put my cigarette out like that.” The guy said in disbelief. Juliette could not believe that way he sounded, it sent butterflies to her stomach.

“Yeah, there’s kids running around. Also, you look like a cool ranch guy, so try switching it up and get the jalapeno chips.” Juliette suggested as she reached for her own bag of jalapeno chips and started to walk away.

“Thank you little miss perfect.” The guy thanked making Juliette freeze in her tracks.

“I’m sorry, what did you say?” She asked as she walked up to him again.

“That’s who you are, aren’t you? Romeo, oh Romeo.” He mocked as Juliette finally connected the dots.

“You’re the guy that sits in the back of the class in English literature!” Juliette exclaimed as the guy smirked.

“Good girl.” He said making Juliette shiver.

“I’m so sorry, but what’s your name again?” Juliette asked a little embarrassed that she did not know her fellow classmate’s name.

“Some nerves of steel you have on you for putting my cigarette out like that and you don’t even know my name. Wait are you telling me that you thought I was a random person?” He asked as Juliette nodded her head while tucking her short hair behind her ear. “Damn… Well the name’s Romeo.” He answered.

“Are you mocking me or is your name actually Romeo?” Juliette asked as he took a step closer to her so that he was towering her.

“How about I let you decide that?” Romeo asked before handing his hand out.

“What?” Juliette asked as she raised her eyebrow

“Gimme your phone.” He stated as Juliette complied.

“There you have my phone number. Give me a call some time.” He said as he picked up a bag of jalapeno chips and walked towards the cashier.

“Holy shit, was that Romeo De Carmen?” Hana asked in a hushed tone as Romeo walked by her.

“Wait that’s his actual name!?” Juliette asked.

“Yeah! Wait were you talking to him?” Hana asked as Juliette nodded her head.

“Dude, he put his number in my phone. Oh my god, he’s so hot and he’s been in my class this whole time. That was so embarrassing.” Juliette groaned as she leaned her head against the isle.

“Girl, let’s get out of here so you tell me all the details.” Hana suggested before walking towards the cashier as well.
