The soldier wanted to say thank you to the gentlemen that was teaching swordsmanship to kids in a small village for them to be able to protect themselves, in the eyes of the soldier whoever has doing this was a saint.
After walking for 10 minutes the soldiers saw another kid just laying down near a tree reading.
"Why did you bring me here? I told you to take me to your master."
The soldier was getting impatient since he had to go through the entire village by the end of the day otherwise, he would be behind his schedule.
Arthur started to run to say hi to his friend that was accompanied by a soldier.
"HEYYYY Michael, you came here to train with me again?"
"No Arthur this Soldier told me that he wanted to meet my master to say thanks."
The soldier was looking at both kids like they were playing a trick on him, Michael was already proficient with a sword while being under the age of 18.
"Hey kid could you take me to your parents, I can see that he teaches you two how to use the sword pretty well."
Arthur looked at the Soldier with a dumbfound face.
"I'm the one that is teaching Michael how to use the sword, we normally train together four times a week."
The soldier couldn't believe what Arthur had just said, it wasn't abnormal to have Swordsmanship around B level but at that age it would mean that the teacher needs to at least have Swordsmanship A.
The soldier slowly got excited, in the past month he didn't find any hidden gem but now it seemed like he got lucky.
"Pick up a sword and let's have a quick duel."
He could have just use DBM to measure Arthur skills, but he wanted to have a fight to see how good Arthur was since the soldier was away from the front lines in a long time.
Arthur grabbed Michael sword without any hesitation, this was a dream for Arthur he never imagined that he would have the opportunity to see how strong a Soldier was specially without the need to leave his village.
The two combatants face each other, the soldier, a seasoned warrior with years of combat experience, was standing tall and confident, his muscles rippling with the effects of his body enhancing skills. Arthur a young boy with an unparalleled talent for swordsmanship and magic, looks cool and collected, his fingers twitching slightly as he prepares his counterattack.
The soldier charges forward, his sword held high in a two-handed grip. Arthur responds with a flick of his wrist, summoning a burst of flame to engulf the soldier. But the soldier's body enhancing skills allow him to shrug off the flames, and he swings his sword again with all his might.
The soldier didn't feel the need to use any other form of magic since basic body enhancing skills were more than enough to deal with this kid, at least that's what he thought.
Arthur couldn't follow the speed of the attacks from the soldier, and he was slowly losing his ground from the heavy attacks, he knew that it was impossible to win from the start but he couldn't give up now, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and Arthur decided to give his all.
"Mister Soldier I will give my all right now."
"Let me see what you are capable of kid."
Arthur dances out of the way with grace and speed, conjuring a gust of wind to propel himself backwards. He unleashes a barrage of fireballs at the soldier, but the soldier deflects them with his sword, his strength and skill in hand-to-hand combat allowing him to hold his own against Arthur combination of swordsmanship and magic.
As the duel continues, the soldier notices that it's getting harder and harder to land a hit on the kid, but his enhanced endurance allowed him to keep fighting even as the skills take their toll. But Arthur is not one to give up easily, and he summons a powerful bolt of lightning that strikes the soldier with a deafening crack.
The soldier staggers, his body shaking from the impact of the lightning. Arthur sees his chance and charges forward, his sword glowing with a deadly energy as he prepares to strike the final blow, but the soldier smashes Arthur sword with his bare fist and says.
"What are you planning to do now?"
For a Dragon Soldier the ability to adapt and overcome difficulties was important since it was chaotic in the battlefield, a new enemy could appear at any time, people might die, your weapon might get damaged there were a lot of unknows that they had to take into consideration.
Arthur decided to release his trump card even though his Grandad told him to avoid using that skill since he is too young, and it drains a lot of energy.
"Release Dragon…"
"STOP ARTHUR."
