Chapter 41: Dark woods

When Don killed F ranked Heroes he had managed to get 100 exp from them it's compatible to F ranked Boss and If Don were killed E ranked Hero he would get 200 exp from them twice as F ranker

If someone else were to kill Dons target or Don was helped them to kill anyone then he would only receive half of the Exp from that monster except for low-rank monsters, even when Don delivered the fatal blow he would only able to get a small amount of exp from them, unlike big beasts.

Don was sprinting wildly into the dark Forest as he was taking advantage of Darkness to avoid Wendys attacks, Ice spikes were hitting near Don every time, he was running past trees after trees jumping over obstacles but the faint moonlight preventing him from completely blend in with the Dark forest

Wendy was using her Magic to kill Don, she was chasing him in the forest with inhuman speed, Her speed and stamina were increased, and somehow she retained her half-consciousness as she was using her intelligence and increased powers against Him but His Black clothes making him a hard target in a gloomy forest or else she would've already eliminated him without any efforts.

Don Saw another message popped up in front of him as he cursed himself

Don noticed wendy stooped attacking a while ago so he decided to catch his breath, Don Hid behind a tree while peeking from the corner of the tree toward Wendy's direction but there was no trace of her.

His heart was beating fast like anytime it's going to explode his legs were aching but he forbade himself from letting his guard down.

after a while drinking water and making sure she was not chasing him Don sat down on the ground but when he decided to recover he overheard noises coming from the front direction, Don quickly sat up and came into battle formation

" shit ... not again"

Two heroes immerged from Darkness and lunge themselves forward on Don, Don noticed one of them was without his hand as his half-face burned badly and the other one was bleeding from the abdomen

Don rolls aside avoiding one of them that guy slammed himself on the tree and another one the guy who has one hand about to make his move but Don grabbed his neck and in the blink of an eye twisted another side, Body dropped on the ground lifelessly " Insect-"

An evil smile appeared on Don's face while stepping towards another guy. Don gathered his all strength in his punch to finish him immediately but unexpectedly batch of Ice spikes comes at them and a few of them hit that guy on the head and ribs as he drooped on the ground.

Before punching him Don felt something but it was too late to avoid spikes ... He backs away as one ice spike managed to pierce his left thigh and blood started flowing " ah... this girl ..."

Wendy jumps on the ground with a grin on her face " I am your opponent ... not them "

Don grimaced after seeing Wendy's face, Don realized that he was not her opponent so he preferred to escape but One ice wall blocked his path, and again other two sides blocked by Wendy's ice walls only the front side was missing from forming a cube where She himself was standing with a grin

" Don't...worry I will personally tell her ... how you died "

Don clenched his fist and dashed at her but his injured leg made him a lot slower and incapable to use his swiftness. Wendy created the next wall in front of him before he could escape from her grasp, Don halted his steps after that girl caged him like a rabbit

Don launched punches on the walls and with two punches crack appeared on the wall however before he does something, the surface of the walls filled with spikes to prevented him from breaking it. with the motion of her hands, walls began to move from two directions towards Don as if she wanted to crush him between walls.

Don observed moving walls to see if there was any weak spot left to strike regardless of his tries he was inadequate to find anything until his gaze falls on top of the walls, there was no wall on the top.

if he had to escape from her then he had to jump over the walls, and those walls were about 8 feet tall

"Now or never... " Don prepared to jump but his injury on his leg inaugurated as he tried to crouch" This ... "

" Move ..." One voice came from the forest as few fireballs slammed one after another on side of the walls, in a few hits wall shattered like a glass

James arrived as he summoned his flames on his palms " Stay back ... I will handle her "

" eager to die... " Wendy cried out in anger creating lots of Ice spikes in the air.

James summoned fireballs similar to wendy's ice spikes in the air, both of them shouted as their ice and fire magic collided in the air

The atmosphere becomes heated and cold at the same, Don gape at amazing lights and sounds made by their attacks, in a few moments entire area filled with mist, Don comes out coughing and tried to see from the dense cloud

James and wendy were attacking each other turn by turn, neither of them holding back while Don was observing their battle in amazement, he has have acknowledged James' battle skills.

James was a remarkable fire mage if any other D ranked Mage about to face wendy like James was facing then they couldn't catch up with her boosted powers if wendy didn't got consume by the voice or she has to face James in her natural state then it's nearly impossible for her to kill James but she became powerful because of this voice.

Don wondered about James identity, no ordinary mage could use this kind of skills in battles, Maggy didn't know the kind of moves James were showing in the battles that means he was not simple

maybe he trained with someone powerful Person.

Dons shielded his face so he could prevent Dust and a small chunk of pebbles from coming right on his face, He averts his gaze and began climbing a tree near the battle so he could see everything unmistakable.

Dons interest grew when he saw two D rank heroes were fighting with each other, After fighting with D ranked hero himself he had learned that they were far superior and stronger than him but the scene was front of him made him excited to see the outcome of this battle, two D ranked mages fighting for the life and death.

It was not the only thing that made him curious about this battle, another thing was they both were using different elements Ice and fire, In this battle, the Ice element has the upper hand because of the ability to manipulate ice, unlike Fire mage they have to use their basic attacks like fireball and fire breath ...

Both of them stopped looking at each other,

wendy smirked "I thought... I have to find you after ...killing that Loser "

" Loser...at least he is in consciousness unlike some useless people"

" How dare...you ... Go to hell" wendy attacked again like a psychopath

Don saw another short-haired girl with a shield and sword in her hand emerged from the dark wood. the noise of that battle was too loud after all. Don jumped on the ground after seeing her in her Daze like a zombie " Time to level up " ...
