A Trip

Wang Kuan woke up to the sounds of a little girl and witnessed that little girl crying. Wang Kuan immediately rushed to comfort the little girl but seemingly noticed a wet spot on the bed and finally understood.

"Tian'er, you're only 3 years old and it's only normal," Wang Kuan said comforting the girl. The little girl was somewhat bashful and shy, Wang Kuan continued, "Come on, today, Papa will take you to Disney Land and enjoy life with Papa but first, let's dressed up for the day and have breakfast". Wang Kuan helped shower Tian'er and dressed her up in a cute dress and white sneakers that her mother gave her before leaving. Wang Kuan also dressed himself and got down to make breakfast. Wang Kuan looked in the fridge and got the ingredients out. Uncle usually bought a lot of groceries.

Today, he will make a classic American breakfast that he learned while in university. First, he sliced the potatoes in medium size, place it into a pot of water with medium heat on and added salt and pepper for extra flavour then let it boil for about ten minutes. After that, he strained the potatoes from the hot water and let it sit. He took a pan out and added olive oil onto the pan, put the minced garlic onto it for a few minutes and then added the corn beef with salt and pepper. After a few minutes, he added the potatoes onto the pan as well and stirred it well. Now for the eggs, he took out another pan and added butter onto it, he then cracked six eggs and added salt and pepper, he only fried for a short amount of time cause he wanted the yolks half fried. Lastly, he toasted the bread with the butter leftover from the egg on the pan and added some butter for more flavour. Bon Appétit, the breakfast is ready.

Looking at him from afar, he seemed like a world-class chef and a feast to the eyes. Wang Kuan considered opening his own restaurant or shop but right now, he's focusing on his daughter. He looked pleased and confident with his cooking. His cooking was inherited from the original owner of the body.

'I hope she likes my cooking'

Wang Kuan called out for Tian'er, "Tian'er, dinner is ready". Tian'er got down and smelled the fragrance coming from the kitchen, "Papa is handsome and he can cook," Tian'er said proudly with her two dimples. Wang Kuan prepared the table and Tian'er helped him get the plates. The duo sat down and had breakfast.

"Papa, this tastes delicious, Papa should cook more in the future," The little girl said adorably. Wang Kuan's heart melted and nodded his head. The little girl was solely focused on eating food. They were later joined by Uncle Gu and they had a chat while having breakfast.

"I haven't seen you cook in a while, Wang Kuan, normally, you would let me cook for you," Uncle Gu said amazed, Wang Kuan nervously laughed and shrugged it off. They soon got ready, packed their clothes and left for Disney Land while Uncle Gu decided to stay and guard the apartment.

Wang Kuan booked a flight to Shanghai with the money he got from the boxing match. He could've chosen a local amusement park but he thought that he wanted Tian'er to experience the world with her own eyes and it is the place where the nearest Disneyland located at. When Wang Kuan was younger, he and his siblings would be accompanying father for his business trips and he got to experience things that ordinary people couldn't. Thinking about it, he had a great childhood.

They'll board the flight in two hours. To kill time, Wang Kuan played some games with Tian'er, making her giggle. They played and took naps and after two hours,

"Attention, from Hantian City to Shanghai....."

"Come, Tian'er, we're going to ride on the plane" Wang Kuan got up and held the little girl's left hand. They walked toward the entrance.

"Yay, aeroplane!" Tian'er jumped up and down. Wang Kuan smiled and pulled the luggage with his left hand.

Sitting on the plane, Wang Kuan decided to call his older sister cause the clan restricted them from talking since the day he got kicked out.

"H-hello," a feminine voice came from the phone. Wang Kuan hesitated for a while, "Umm, this is Wang Kuan, your little brother, I was wondering if you are doing well these years". A moment of silence and soon followed by Wang Yan's cry of astonishment," Is that you, Wang Kuan, brother?" Wang Kuan smiled calmly and said, "How are you, big sister?".

Wang Kuan had two siblings, an older sister and an older brother, so technically, he's the youngest of the three. The relationship between the three was very good but right now it was a bit restrained than before. The last time they talked was a year ago. The Wang Clan restricted communications and forbid members from marrying, and if they get caught, they will face one thousand lashes and get kicked out of the clan. Marrying and dating are two different things in that clan.

"Wang Kun and I have been well, what about you?" Wang Yan said worriedly. Wang Kuan calmly replied, "I have been well but right now, I'm on a flight to Shanghai," Wang Yan said in a daze, "Heh, Where do you intend to go?".

"I'm going to Disneyland with my daughter," Wang Kuan said laughing. The sound of a phone dropping on the floor could be heard, followed by Wang Yan's series of questions, "Ehhhh, What did you say? Your daughter? My niece? Why do I not know about this? You're lying, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not. I did not know about it until only recently." Wang Kuan replied.

"Gosh, I'm an aunt now?" Wang Yan said in a daze.

"Wait! Wang Kuan has a child?" A shout came from the back of the phone.

"You will be able to meet her soon and Wang Kun is with you?"

"Little Brother, let me see her quickly and yes, I was talking with big brother Kun," After speaking, she immediately hung up the phone.

After a sec, a video call arrived in Wang Kuan's WeChat.

Seeing each other for the first time in years, Wang Yan's eyes were filled with tears and a person from the back came forward. That was Wang Kuan's older brother, Wang Kun.

"Haha, Little Brother, you have matured and quickly, let us see our niece," Wang Kun said laughing. Wang Kuan smiled and adjusted the camera forward at the little princess who was wearing a disposable diaper and eating snacks distractedly.

"Oh my, such an adorable and cute child!" Wang Kun and Wang Yan said at the same time, "Heh, don't tell me the child's mother is...".

"We'll talk about that later," Wang Kuan immediately interrupted.

Seeing that he didn't want to talk about it, they immediately changed the topic, "Mother missed you a lot since the day you left" Wang Kun said calmly. Wang Kuan felt a surge of pain and replied, "Tell her to not worry too much, I'll be fine".

"Little bro, you have changed a lot and you sound mature," Wang Kun said emotionally, "To see that you finally understand what maturity means and changed to the kid we used to know makes us want to cry".

"You guys, I will one day find a way to get you guys out of that clan," Wang Kuan said determined. They talked close to an hour. After a while, the plane landed and Wang Kuan ordered a presidential suite.

They took a shower and rested on the bed. Wang Kuan played with Tian'er for a bit and the two decided to do some sightseeing.

They went to a lot of places such as Yu Garden. Yu Garden was first built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty by Pan Yunduan as a comfort for his father, the minister Pan En, in his old age. Pan Yunduan began the project after failing one of the imperial exams, but his appointment as governor of Sichuan postponed construction for nearly twenty years until 1577. The garden was the largest and most prestigious of its era in Shanghai, but eventually its expense helped ruin the Pans.

"Wow, this garden looks really beautiful," Tian'er said jumping up and down as they walked hand in hand. Wang Kuan smiled and said laughing, "But they are not as beautiful as you," Tian'er snorted softly,"They are not as beautiful as Papa and Mama". They got to the main hall of City God Temple. It is a folk temple located in the old city of Shanghai. It commemorates the elevation of Shanghai to municipal status and is the site of the veneration of three Chinese figures honoured as the city gods of the town. The duo walked around for 2 hours and Tian'er was getting tired. As they walked, the people around them couldn't help but praise the little princess's cuteness.

"Let Papa hold you," Wang Kuan gave the little girl a piggyback ride and the two went to the Jade Buddha Temple. It is a Buddhist temple in Shanghai. As with many modern Chinese Buddhist temples, the current temple draws from both the Pure Land and Chan traditions of Mahayana Buddhism. There were two Buddha statues, a sitting Buddha and a smaller reclining Buddha representing the Buddha's death. The temple now also contained a much larger reclining Buddha made of marble, donated from Singapore, and visitors may mistake this larger sculpture for the original, smaller piece. They also bought some snacks along the way.

"Tian'er, do you want to light incense?" Wang Kuan asked after seeing the little princess fascinated with the smoke and burning sticks.

"Why do they burn incense to the Buddha?" The little girl asked with confusion. Wang Kuan replied softly, "They burn incense to pray to the Buddha for good fortune and to get rid of monsters and bad luck".

"I want to burn too because Tian'er hates monsters, "The little girl said with enthusiasm. He went and bought some incense and burned them. The duo sat down and prayed. As they prayed, Wang Kuan felt a spiritual Qi shrouding him. He looked around to find nothing but could feel the warmth from the Qi. He got up and placed the incense onto a pot of sand.

"Young man, could you buy this only amulet from me?" An old man with a long white bread and his body bent said calmly. The amulet had the shape of an arrow with a sharp point and had a golden colour. It was beautiful.

Wang Kuan could feel the Qi coming from the amulet and moved to observe it. He subconsciously touch the point, his pointy finger was cut and the old man disappeared alongside the amulet. His finger kept bleeding, he suddenly got up, took the little girl's hand and went back to the hotel. He ordered some Shanghai's specialities. His finger was still bleeding, he wrapped a bandage over it but it still kept bleeding.

"Papa, are you alright?" Tian'er said with tears almost falling. Wang Kuan was quick to reply,"It's alright, it's just a cut, it will heal soon," Wang Kuan continued, "Come and eat, Papa bought some delicious food for you".

"Humph, Tian'er likes Papa's cooking the most," Tian'er snorted adorably and continued to eat the food that Wang Kuan placed on her plate.

"Also, I don't like Papa anymore"

"Why don't you like Papa?" Wang Kuan didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

"Papa lied about going to Disneyland, humph"

"We'll go to Disneyland tomorrow because it will take a day to explore all of Disneyland and we were tired from the flight," Wang Kuan said tenderly.

"Tian'er will let Papa off this time".

After they were done, it's time for bed.

Wang Kuan helped Tian'er changed into her pajamas and placed on a small bed.

"Papa, continue the story" Tian'er said tired from the trips they made.

"Where were we last time?"

"The part where a baby dragon appeared"

"Okay, After it appeared, he also got a special gift from that baby dragon as well....."

He continued off until she fell asleep. He tucked her in and kissed her on the forehead.

"Sleep well, tomorrow we'll go to Disneyland"

Wang Kuan felt feverish but went to bed as normal.
