Change

He got home to his small but comfortable apartment in the city.

"I'm home"

Wang Kuan took off his shoes and helped his daughter take off her pink coat and shoes. His butler rushed forward and looked for injuries but seemed to find none. The butler sighed in relief, "Young master, dinner is ready".

"Uncle Gu," this is the first time Wang Kuan had called him that since he was a child, "I'm so sorry for all the grief and pain I bought to you and your late family," Wang Kuan kneeled and said tearfully.

Uncle Gu was one of the few people who stayed with him after he was kicked out of the clan. He had stayed with Wang Kuan since he was a little boy and would always take care of him until now. He treated him like a son. The old Wang Kuan used to call him names and treated him like a dog but he never got angry or stopped caring for him. When Qing Zhu and Wang Kuan fought back then, he took care of his daughter for him and treated her just like how he treated Wang Kuan. His 'late family' died because of Wang Kuan's reckless behaviour and the brutality of the Wang Clan.

"Y-young master no, Wang Kuan, you have changed," Uncle Gu said tearfully and rushed to hug him and his daughter. "I always knew that you were still the kind and warm-hearted child that I used to take care of and that's why I never stopped believing in you" he continued tearfully, "I didn't believe that the Wang's ideology would get into your head but now, you have changed, my son".

Tian'er got teary-eyed after seeing her papa cried and rushed to comfort him, "Papa, don't cry, Uncle Gu, mama and I will always love you," Wang Kuan's heart softened at her words and hugged her tightly.

'This is the feeling of being loved and treasured'' I will cherish my family just as how they cherished me when I was at the lowest of my life'

"Okay then, let's have dinner," Wang Kuan smiled and started preparing dinner with his dinner. They are having fish soup coupled with rice. They talked cheerfully as Wang Kuan fed Tian'er.

"Wang Kuan, what will you do about Tian'er mother?" Uncle Gu asked all of a sudden. To be honest, Wang Kuan doesn't know how to feel about her.

"Eh, I don't know" Wang Kuan felt complicated toward her but also guilty for how he treated her in the past. Tian'er was watching a cartoon and heard they were talking about her mama, "Mama loves papa and papa loves mama," the cute little girl said distractedly but resumed watching cartoon.

Wang Kuan helped Uncle Gu clean the dishes and got ready for bed. Tian'er was still watching cartoon. Wang Kuan had to do something as it is getting late, "Tian'er, it's getting late, let's go to bed," Tian'er looked reluctant to part with the TV, "Let Tian'er watch one more". Wang Kuan didn't know whether to cry or laugh, "Tian'er, if you go to sleep early, papa will take you to Disney Land and to the waterpark," Tian'er's eyes brightened," Papa needs to promise Tian'er," Tian'er took out her pinky finger, Wang Kuan's heart softened and took out his pinky finger and the two made a promise.

"Okay, Tian'er will go to sleep now, hehe"

Wang Kuan helped her change into her pajamas and the duo got to bed. Tian'er wanted to sleep with her papa, Wang Kuan's fatherly instinct had no choice but to yield to his sweet daughter's wish.

"Papa, can you read Tian'er a bedtime story?" Tian'er looked hopefully at her papa.

"A bedtime story, Cinderella?"

"No"

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?"

"No"

"Aladdin?"

"No"

"Sleeping Beauty?"

"No, mama already read me these stories"

"So, how about the story of the adventures of the Eternal God?"

"Okay, it sounds nice" Tian'er eyes brightened.

"Well, it all started with the birth of the Eternal God...."

Wang Kuan narrated softly for a long time and he looked over to find Tian'er fast asleep. Wang Kuan let out a faint smile then tucked her in and gave her forehead a kiss.

"Papa will return your love a thousand times stronger than your mama's" Wang Kuan said smiling and got off the bed. He decided to do some cultivating and sat down peacefully. He closed his eyes and continued meditating for 2 hours then he opened his eyes and said painfully, "Such a weak mortal body, it can't withstand my power if I use it, I need to harden it or else I could be killed by my own power". He looked serious and thought about a solution. He took a mortal's body but he didn't feel guilty about it anymore since the original owner was an asshole. The Eternal God would have killed him a thousand times if he didn't take his body.

The Eternal God was unlike any other gods, he was kind and noble, It is also the reason why he got killed and betrayed. It was because he was able to sympathize with others and rescued an orphan from nowhere, to be made into his only disciple and he loved his lover loyally, never glance or check out any other women behind her back. He trusted them but only to be betrayed by them. The Eternal God kills only when he had to but now he is a nobody and took the body of a mortal. Imagine the humiliation one would feel if they were a god and was treated like this but the Eternal God didn't feel any humiliation but happiness from taking this body. He still feels resentful about the betrayal.

Wang Kuan thought furiously about the betrayal but decided to shrug it off. He went to bed and hugged his daughter close to him. He went to sleep with a peaceful smile on his face.
