The battle with the fifty humans was still ongoing even after more than thirteen hours. The fight was so gruesome that even the fifteen family Deities had joined in to try and help the black dragon.
Sadly it was all in vain, all the family heads were slaughtered by the humans. The demons were fighting their exact counterparts.
The Gargoyle Deity had fought the human champion of iron and was easily destroyed by the champion's war hammer which neglected the Gargoyles hard stone defense, the fight didn't even last more than two hours before the Gargoyle Deity crumbled to nothing but dust, of course after the fight the Champion of iron succumbed to his injuries and died of blood loss.
The Wolf and Vampire (Bat) Deities although the two families were rivals they still share the same weakness, which was silver, luckily it was two of them against one human so the fight ended in their victory but alas there was still more than 49 human champions remaining. Before their deaths the two rivals managed to kill more than seven champions before their inevitable deaths.
The Rhino, Bear, and Gorilla Deities were all muscle brains so their fights ended very fast against the Champion of accuracy, speed, and assassination but at least they managed to put the three champions out of commission for the rest of the battle.
The rest were simply outnumbered by the humans and slaughtered, of course some managed to kill a few of the human champions, like in the case with the Serpent and Spider Deities who had managed to poison almost seventeen champions to death, and the Salamander, Griffin, and Wyvern Deities who managed to kill three champions each with their brute strength and their supreme control of their own elements.
After all of this only about thirteen Champions remained and most of them had heavy or light injuries, but surprisingly they all charged to help defeat the black dragon without even caring about their wounds.
...........................…
Back in the desert, it was now day, and Saiken was busy running from a group of large ants, the creatures were the dominant species of the desert.
Luckily they hard completely lost the giant Snake as it was captured by the giant ants and was dismantled within seconds, for Saiken this was a first but for Patrick this was common… it was just his first time seeing it in such a large scale.
The giant snake had tried to escape but it was just too slow.
While in the Desert Patrick discovered two things, one was that almost all the monster here liked to ambush their prey. There always hiding and waiting for their food, and that's probably because of the ants walking around the barren land searching for any moving targets.
The second thing Patrick discovered was that in this desert you could only find giant lizards and not so surprising giant bugs. This annoyed Patrick quite a bit since they will eventually need food and eating bugs and lizards doesn't sound like a great meal.
Luckily they won't have to worry about water since Saiken can make a ball of pure clean water out of his mana.
Speaking on mana it turns out that having an extra soul in one body means an extra container of mana, of course Saiken can't access this new man pool willingly, Patrick has share the mana by putting his hand on Saiken, and of course this has to be done in the spirit world and not the physical world.
'Wait… I smell a Bug close by.' Said Patrick
Sniff*
"Yeah I smell it too… sniff* sniff* it's coming from there… should I- we go check it out?" Saiken asked.
After the few hours they have been traveling together, Saiken had already developed a tendency to ask Patrick for permission before doing something, and this was because almost every time Patrick had given his advice he was right.
'Just from afar would be alright.' Said Patrick.
"Okay."
While in their wolf form sneaking was really easy, unless the bug has the same antennas as the ants.
The location the smell was coming from was a small hill, and after climbing the hill Patrick was surprised to see a giant green locust.
To Patrick this thing was a giant bug chicken, back in Africa cooking a bunch of locust was the norm, but with this thing all he needed was its leg and he wouldn't have to worry about food for at least two days.
'Finally something to eat!' Patrick screamed inside Saiken's mind.
"S-should I kill it?" Saiken asked with a shaky voice, this was because he really didn't want to eat a giant bug.
The bugs might have been huge but that was only compared to what Patrick saw in his past world, the locust were just a little over a meter tall, larger than Saiken's wolf form, luckily it's carapace didn't look that hard but it would be hard to catch it considering its wings and strong looking hind legs.
Of course he still trusted Patrick's judgment. Saiken took a step forward but Patrick quickly intervened on Saiken's Actions.
'Wait! don't!' Patrick screamed.
"What!" Saiken stopped in his tracks and asked.
'I don't know about your world, but in mine locust like to travel in swarms so… let's just check behind this hill… just in case.
Saiken nodded and carefully went around the hill and just like Patrick had said, thousands of thousands of giant bugs were gathered and were busily destroying a few dying trees.
'Okay lets get the lone guy, am sure the lest won't notice.' Said Patrick.
"Okay."
'Let's go back.'
Saiken stealthily went back to his previous position, luckily the one locust was still there.
Saiken sneaked behind the locust. Slowly he crept closer until he was within leaping distance.
The locust suddenly started turning around.
'Now!' Screamed Patrick.
Saiken without hesitation pounced on the locust's neck, sinking his sharp teeth through the bug's carapace.
The bug's juices exploded in Saiken's mouth. Saiken panicked and released the bug's neck and then started spitting out all the disgusting juices.
'Kid it's still alive!' Said Patrick.
"I- I- I can't!" Saiken was panicking.
'Okay then, let me.' Said Patrick before pulling Saiken out of control and then taking over.
Patrick was more merciless, he quickly tore the head off the bug's body.
"My brother always said I was a dog-ass guy." Said Patrick with a vicious smile on his wolf face.
'What?' Asked Saiken.
"Ah, no, it's nothing." Said Patrick.
"Anyway let me just eat some of this for you."
'Thanks…"
"No problem kid." After saying this Patrick started devouring the dead locust.
'H-how is it?' Saiken asked after seeing how Patrick was eating the giant bug with gusto.
"Disgusting!!" Patrick answered, if anyone could see his wolf face right now they would see a wolf crying because of disgust.
'Then stop.'
"Kid you haven't eaten for about fifteen hours, this is for your own good." Patrick was still crying.
'God I wish there was a fire to cook this thing on.' Patrick thought.
Suddenly Patrick saw sparks light up in front of him.
'Fire! Could it be?' Patrick thought of possibility.
"God I wish there was fire." Patrick repeated what he had said earlier.
But instead of sparks like the first time, what appeared was a small flame. The flame was the size of an adult's thumb.
"Saiken! Check this out! ...Saiken?"
Saiken didn't answer Patrick's Call, this coursed Patrick to panic.
Suddenly the physical body in its wolf form fell down as if it was a puppet whose strings had been cut. Patrick left the physical body to check on Saiken, and what he saw warmed his heart.
Saiken was asleep.
'He ran for more than seven hours… sigh* I should have noticed that he was tired.' Patrick mocked himself.
'Shit our body!'
.................................…
The capital had fallen, demon civilians were being slaughtered… the war had ended.
"Human tell me… what is the name of that Sword?" Black dragon.
The black dragon was lying in a giant crater, but its form was different, instead of the giant four legged beast from before its form had turned into that of a humanoid.
A woman walked forward, the previous golden armor she wore was nowhere to be found, her chest was bare and she had lost her left arm from the shoulder down and the left side of her face was scorched black.
Even though the dragon's ability to teleport was nulled it still had incredible power and defense, all the champions who joined in the fight were easily dealt with by the dragons sharp craws.
"It's called Touch of Phoebus." Said the woman without a hint of ignorance.
"Hehehehe what a name! …thank you! And good bye." Said the black demon.
Suddenly the black demons body started float. "Brothers and sisters lend me your souls!" A blue energy started coming out from the dead demons, and not just the soldiers but also the civilians.
"Ni pemper mpamvu zanu…" the Black dragon's body fell back to the ground as a lifeless shell.
"Master Avare is it over?" a soldier asked from afar.
The woman known as Avare only nodded, she felt as if something was off.
Turned around to walk back to the camp so that she could receive medical treatment, many of her bones were either cracked or shuttered to nothing but bone dust.
As she took her third step, she felt a large amount of mana gathering behind her.
The soldiers in front of her fell on their behinds while staring her. She turned her head to look behind, and what she saw was the same black dragon she had slayed, but it was back in its huge form and was in optimal condition.
"By the power invested in me by all dead and dying demons, and by all who die with the hatred for humans, I Skavenx Vodract first of my name and last, first of my kind and last. I curse myself to bring destruction to every human civilization. When all the moons are full your cities will burn."
The Giant dragon started to fade but before it complete faded it said two sentences that shocked Avare.
"My Curse is eternal…"
"Unless a demon truly forgave you."
As if all the demons heard this they all start committing suicide. Men, women and children all did the same, some used knives while others used there sharp claws to tear their throats out.
.................................…..
Inside Saiken's body, Saiken flinched and then suddenly pierced his own chest with his bare hand, luckily in this place death did not exist.
