_____

Inei Tatsumi's eyes were as tranquil as ever as he gazed one last time at Raiken village, he started his journey to accomplish his goals.

With a heavy heart, he buried his parents and left the village, his black iaido katana strapped on the left side of his waist.

He carried a bag with some necessary things to survive in the wilderness, he walked through the woods and made his way toward the west, to a famous place known as Mt. Sagiri.

He often heard tales in the village, mostly about demons and a secret association of certain swordsmen slaying them.

It was rumored that there was such a person living in a small hut at the foot of Mt. Sagiri, with no other way to gain knowledge of these creatures called demons, Inei decided to find this said person.

The journey was not by any means short, on his way, he was quite lucky to find two or three villages.

Tatsumi had no money to restock his supplies, so he had to do some work to earn some money, with his superior stamina and physical capabilities with the help of the breathing technique, he was able to work the amount of 3 men, his earnings were quite good.

After getting the supplies, he continued his journey, unfortunately, he hadn't met any demons yet.

His journey, for the most part, was peaceful. Until he was 28 Kilometers from Mt. Sagiri. There, he encountered his second demon.

It had four arms, a scrawny body, and two heads with goat-like limbs. Inei vigilantly snuck toward the demon.

"Grrr"

The demon's mouth was dripping blood as it ate the flesh of a human, the victim was already dead.

The demon tore and bit the crimson-dyed flesh, seemingly enjoying Its meal. Inei snuck closer again, but to his bad luck, the demon seemed to be alert.

"Grrraaa!"

The demon snapped his head toward where Inei hid, and it launched itself off the ground toward Inei at full speed.

'Shit, It had a keen sense of smell'

Inei revealed himself and dashed forward as well, he parried the demon's attack, but was struck in the abdomen by the demon's other free hand.

He rolled on the ground and stood up, holding his iaido Katana with full strength, Inei took in a sharp breath before continuing to attack.

Inei was at a severe disadvantage, fortunately, the demon lacked physical might and Inei could push it back with precisely executed kicks in the nick of time.

'Fuck, four arms are hard to deal with

As he thought that, the demon charged forward with four of its hands, ready to grab him.

Tatsumi managed to avoid it by threatening to slice apart the demon's head with a horizontal slash.

He quickly stepped back several times to make distance between them.

He quickly scanned his surroundings, and he managed to find something that made his heart race.

There was a broken house, but more importantly, there was a well too.

Inei ran toward the house, the demon, ignorant of his thoughts, chased after him like a cheetah.

When the demon was within arms reach behind him, Inei suddenly turned back and fell on his back, the demon could!'t react and stumbled on top of him.

Inei, however, kicked the demon's abdomen with full force and angled the demon behind him using both his legs, the demon who lacked physical power, was sent flying and fell right inside the deep, dark well.

Inei took in deep breaths as he stood up, he then stood on top of the well's edge to see if the demon would climb up.

And it did after a few moments, the demon tried to pounce on him but the former diced the demon up into several pieces, so many that it seemed impossible to heal.

But he knew it would regenerate, but it would take a lot of time till it regained full mobility, so the demon was stuck there for a good while.

Inei wanted to kill the demon, but he has no way of doing so, under such circumstances, he could only temporarily immobilize the demon and continue his journey, he would come back here after finding a solution to this problem, and finish off the demon.

After washing his wounds using the water in his bamboo bottle, he treated his wounds and ate some food to replenish his blood, only then did he continue his journey.

"A little bit more, and I'll be at Mt. Sagiri"
