Town of Raiken

In the town of Raiken, there lives a boy name Inei Tatsumi, from a young age he was famed for the category of adaptability.

He was given such fame because of the exact reason, the young boy quickly adapted, he started talking at the age of 4 months, and started walking at 5 months.

He learned literature at the age of 1, and could read and write perfectly at 1 1/2 years old, the folks of the village were awed at the speed of his growth.

Some feared whilst some praised, some said he was a demon, while others said he was an angel.

Inei never smiled, never unnecessarily talked, never showed any particular emotion, he always appeared stoic, indifferent to the things around him.

Inei, however, despite the lack of emotions, was deeply in involved in his 3 member family, his mother, and father meant the world to him, and he--despite lacking emotions--felt very close to them.

Inei always listened to whatever they said, never rebelling against them, he found peace in their caring words and their affection.

They wanted him to train in the way of the sword, and he obliged. He was instructed to study the art of breathing, he did so as told.

His parents demand as such because they had never picked up a sword before, Inei's had no master either, he worked hard and followed everything said in the book he was given by his parents.

Despite being only the age of 10, Inei Tatsumi was named the strongest swordsman in the village of Raiken, and the youngest.

It was like this because there were no actual first-class swordsmen in the village, most of them just had the name and swung their blades wherever they wished with no actual technique or aim.

Under those circumstances only was he named strongest.

Inei headed off to the woods as usual, his face as stoic as ever, he chopped down the woods with swift movements, the sweat on his forehead glistered under the rays of the moonlight.

"Ha~"

After 5 hours of non-stop chopping, Inei let out a bored sigh as he carried the logs on his back, he placed the axe on the surface of a cleanly diced tree.

"I wonder what's for breakfast?"

Inei hummed as he slowly strode through the woods, despite working for straight 5 hours, he didn't look the least tired.

Getting closer to his house, Inei furred his brows as he got a bad feeling inside his chest, not knowing what had caused such worry, Inei anxiously increased his pace.

Inei frowned, the usual loud and chatter-filled Raiken village was still and silent, too silent. Getting closer to his house, Inei's eyes widened seeing the sight in front of him.

His pupils shrunk as he saw a mountain of corpses, a literal mountain of corpses of the villagers of Raiken pilled up on top of each other, and on the peak was the head of his parents, hung and held by a strange-looking creature.

"W-What.... is.... this?"

Inei's voice cracked, his eyes turned watery, his beloved parents, who took care of him all his life, were hung, body-less.

Slowly, his blood was starting to boil.

He felt something snap inside him as he gazed into the hollow eyes of his parents.

Veins bulged from Inei's forehead, his eyes turned bloodshot as his breathing suddenly started to change into a strange pattern.

"You... You did this, didn't you?"

Inei asked as he shifted his gaze towards the vile-looking creature, his voice was calm, too calm for a situation like this.

"Yea--!!"

The vile-looking creature laughed to its heart's content before responding, but when he did, something very unexpected happened.

Inei held onto the sheath of his katana on his waist, Inei bent forward with one knee, his long black hair with crimson strands on the end fluttering to the slightest breeze.

Clang.

Inei shot forward with his Katana drawn out, moving at a speed seeming almost inhuman, the demon suddenly stopped laughing and frowned.

Inei lept in the air, th demon's pupils shrunk seeing that sight.

"What th-!!"

The young boy launched a horizontal slash toward the demon's neck, the latter was forced to jump down from the pile of corpses and land on the ground.

Inei persisted, he stepped on one of the corpses, took a deep breath, and dashed forward again.

He firmly held his blade with two of his hands and kept attacking, his every swing containing a dangerous amount of swiftness.

The demon had no option but to dodge, it kept avoiding by jumping back again and again, Inei kept of his assault without hesitation.

"W-What the fuck!? Why aren't you getting tired!!?"

The demon slowly grew impatient, it knew it couldn't dodge all night.

"Arghh!! I'm gonna kill you, bastard!"

Finally losing his cool, the demon decided to go on the offensive, it stepped forward only to get kicked in the abdomen.

'what!?'

It couldn't comprehend what had happened, he was kicked so fast!

The demon realized it a little too late, the enemy was hiding his strength!

Inei was very patient, he only used 60% of his speed and was waiting for the enemy to make a move and catch the demon off guard, and his efforts showed fruits.

Sensing as the demon was about to make his attack, he quickly drew in a mouthful of air and stepped with all his speed and kicked it in the stomach.

After that, he landed his first slash on the demon's body.

Splash.

The creature screamed in agony as it got diced up into 64 pieces, everything including the veins was cut with precise accuracy.

The demon showed signs of regeneration, he kept on attacking till the demon was cut into so many pieces he lost count of it.

He drew in cold breath as the fatigue slowly made its way through, but fortunately, his eyes gleamed seeing the sunrise.

He stopped his assault and took in deep breaths, he felt every muscle of his ache so much that it was almost unbearable.

But Inei didn't utter a single word of complaint.

He climbed up the mountain of corpses and knelt down.

Blood splattered all over Inei's, he ignored the unpleasant smell and lifted the two lifeless heads.

"Mother, Father... When you said your time was coming soon, I'd never thought it would be so soon, I... I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you"

Tears ran down his cheeks as he sobbed, but he quickly wiped away his tears and went back to his stoic face.

"Your deaths shouldn't have been so unsightly, these creatures have disrespected you by giving you guys such a disgusting death... I will hunt them all, if there are more of these creatures, I vow to eliminate them all from the surface of the earth, no matter the cost"

His words were firm and resolute, Inei wanted his parents to have a peaceful and painless death, but this creature had ruined that.

For that, he vowed to kill them all, his hatred for those creatures named demons was deeply rooted in the depths of his heart.

Standing up, Inei slowly closed his eyes as the sunrise flashed through his vision, he ignored the agonized cry of the demon burning itself under the sun.
