Mercy

kingdom of Minos...royal castle, prince Raven's room...

The guards froze the moment they heard his voice right behind them. Their hands started trembling in fear and they started sweating like crazy. King Bargwandas paid no attention ro the guards and gracefully pushed one of them aside to make room for him to pass. He slowly walked towards the prince with a straight face. All the doctors around Raven quickly stood up and walked towards the king.

"Y-your highness, w-we found out t-,that..." One of the doctors stamered as she spoke. The king slowly turned his head to face her. "Aren't you forgetting something?" The king asked as he raised one brow at her. The doctor turned around to look at the other doctors, as if she was asking them to help her but the king quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him. He then used his other arm to touch her shoulder and turn her around to face him. "W-wha-" "You have to bow whenever you see me and that is something you my dear have forgotten to do." He sternly said, cutting her off. She was still trembling in fear. She looked down for a while before she faced him. "I- I am sorry y-your highness." She weakly said. "You are lucky you are at least good looking for I would have punished you harshly for your mistake." He said as he gave an emotionless yet devious smirk. He let go of her shoulders and walked towards the bed.

The doctor was still trembling from what she had just experienced. She was actually in the hands and in the mercy of the one and only King Bargwandas of Minos! One wrong move and she could have been slaughtered at that moment. Well, she made many wrong moves but it was a hella close call. The other doctors behind her started whispering to each other the moment the king mentioned that she was good looking. Why would he say that? She had pale skin and messy black hair. Her red eyes shone no where near as bright as the others and her brown wings were so small that they only stopped at her buttocks. She was thin and weak and she wasn't even a professional doctor yet, but why did the king call this demon good looking out of everyone else? This wasn't right to them.

Next to the prince, the king just stood there, frozen still as he stared at the unconcious prince. He was so cute when he was unconcious. His puffy cheeks gave him the cuteness of a baby and his mid length brown hair gave him his handsomeness and at the sight of that, the king curled up his fist and tightened his jaw as if it disgusted him to be able to see his son look like an angel instead of a vishous demon! He was the next emperor of Evil after him and here he was, unconcious for hours just because of what he witnessed at the damn pit! He was deeply disappointed to be able to call this weakling his son. The king stood there for many minutes, unmoving like a statue.

The doctors and guards looked at each other, waiting for what the king would say or do next. Luckily for them, the king moved to face the doctor that was in front of the other doctors. It was the same doctor that dared to forget to bow to him. He stared at her for a while. She was still looking down and by the looks of it, she was closing her eyes. "You there," he said, making the doctor open her eyes and face him. "What is your name?" He asked her, shocking everyone in the room except for the still unconcious prince. "M-Merceline. DR Merceline." She said. Wow, she actually stamered once this time. Good job Mercy. She mentally congratulated herself. The king was still staring at her. "So your shortened name is Mercy?" He asked her. His eyes were still not removed from her face as he waited for her response. Mercy nodded and the king gave a small but quick smile. Everyone seemed to have noticed the king's gesture as they all widened their eyes and opened their mouths.

Did their king just smile at the doctor?! "She must be a witch." One doctor whispered to another one and they both nodded in agreement to the statement.
