Chapter 1: The New World

*Ring*

The bell of the Coral Public School rang signaling the end of the first period, The teacher picked up his mathematics textbook but unlike the usual routine the teacher was not in a hurry to leave the class instead this time he took his time to carefully look at every student in the class.

It's been three years since he started teaching these brats, Teacher of each subject will usually change after every year, But due to a variety of coincidences, he was able to stay as their mathematics teacher for three consecutive years.

Although he did not want to admit it, the middle-aged have become a bit attached to seeing these familiar faces every day.

Suddenly he remembered all the troubles he had been through due to these kids and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch.

Releasing a silent sigh he got rid of these thoughts and started walking towards the class door, just as he was about to exit the middle-aged man stopped, He hesitantly opened his mouth he said.

"There's no homework for today"

"Thank you, sir"

The entire class stood up together and shouted in unison almost giving the man a heart attack but before he could scold them, A group of students surrounded him.

*Click*

"Hey, no phones allowed in the school!"

"I thought for sure that the old man would give us homework even on the last day"

"Well knowing his crappy personality he was probably going to but maybe at the last moment he had a change of heart or something."

"Wow! you actually managed to get his picture! send me! send me!"

Like any normal class, the students were busy chatting with each other while some were hiding in a corner laughing creepily as they used various filters on the middle-aged man's face.

None of the teachers passing by the class bothered to calm them down as they knew that it was their last day in school.

"Hey Ella are you really not going to talk to him? this might be your last chance you know!", Mia said as she looked at her best friend while holding her forehead.

"B-But what if h---"

"No buts! I've known you for six years and I know that you have had a feeling for him from the first day you saw him, Ella none of the kids in class even knows which University he picked either and it's the last day anyway so it doesn't matter even if you get rejected as we'll probably never be seeing him again anyway."

Dragging her friend along, Mia finally stopped in front of the desk which was situated at the farthest corner of the classroom.

A blush appeared on Ella's face as she looked down at the boy who was sleeping on his desk with only half of his face in sight.

The boy seemed to have not noticed them or the noises made by the class as he was sleeping soundly on his desk without a care in the world.

Mia who has quickly distanced herself, now sat on a nearby desk as she waited for the drama to unfold, Her eyes were shining as she thought of all the gossip material she would be getting.

Ella Wimbledon, age 17, 175cm tall, long golden hair reaching her hips with a pair of light green eyes, She is the school's most beautiful girl, great in academics as well as sports, in short, the dream girl of any high school boy's fantasy.

The boy on the other hand....

Raising her hand, Mia touched her chin and thought.

Leo Brown, also 17, 185 cm, short black hair with a pair of dark blue eyes, the most handsome boy in the school, he also belongs to a rich family but doesn't show any arrogance in fact he doesn't like to interact with anyone in the class and just stays in his own world, many teachers has called him out before due to not answering questions asked during class but none of them said anything to him after he managed to get a perfect score in every subject except language on every single test.

In short, he's the famous mysterious kid from our school.

For Mia, the two of them getting together was simply something that was meant to happen.

Taking in a deep breath Ella calmed down her beating heart as she was about to call out to Leo but looking at his sleeping face made the words unable to come out of her mouth.

Still gathering up her strength she extended her hand and tried to poke Leo's cheek.

Mia who was looking at the scene couldn't help but move closer, but then a sudden realization struck her as she noticed that at some point the entire class has fallen silent.

Quickly looking around a wry smile appeared on Mia's face as she saw how every boy and girl in class was also staring at the two of them while holding their breadths some of them have even taken out their phones and started recording the scene.

Mia blamed herself for not choosing a better place but since it was already happening there was no point in thinking about it anymore.

Getting back to the two, just as Ella's finger was about to touch Leo's face, his eyelids quivered and opened up.

It seemed like time has stopped or something as a pair of green eyes and blue one looked at each other without blinking.

Then the blue iris looked down at the finger inches away from poking it.

The scene didn't last that long as Ella awkwardly withdrew her hand.

"Let me go! let me go! I'm going to make sure this bast*rd never wakes up again!"

Of course, everyone ignored the student who was quickly carried away by his friends.

Letting out a yarn, Leo sat straight and looked at Ella with sleepy eyes.

"Need something?", Leo said while rubbing his eyes.

"I-i-which college are you going to", Ella stuttered as her words automatically changed on their own.

Mia couldn't help but release a sigh she knew it was over. She knows that her friend has lost the courage to say it now.

"I haven't decided on a college yet", Leo casually said as he dodged the question.

"I-i see"

Ella clapped her hands as she continued.

"T-then a-are you f-free after school today", Her voice grew smaller and smaller as she interlinked her fingers together and completed the last part with an almost inaudible voice, her head was dropped low but her ears were perked up waiting anxiously for the other side's reply.

It didn't take long.

"Ah I'm sorry but I'm going out with my family tonight"

"...."

Dreams are meant to be broken.

[After School]

"It's over.....it's all over...he hates me now"

Mia tried to calm her friend down but her attempts were not helping at all.

Seeing that her words were not getting through, Mia looked around and saw Leo mixed in between the students leaving the school.

Without hesitation, she quickly started running towards Leo who was almost out of sight.

Seeing him turn around a corner, she quickly speed up.

Turning around Leo was just a few steps ahead of her, using her leg she quickly sent a kick at Leo's back without any warning.

But what was expected to happen did not take place as at the last moment Leo turned around barely avoiding the kick aimed at him.

What was even more surprising was that Mia instead of falling over quickly stabilized herself using her right leg and spin around sending a left kick at Leo's stomach.

An apathetic look was pasted on Leo's face as he grabbed the leg striking his stomach without much effort.

But Leo raised his eyebrow as he saw a small fist flying towards his face, still, he used his other hand and easily grabbed the small fist as well.

The boy and the girl looked at each other in close proximity, it was good that no one was around or it might have caused a misunderstanding.

"You've improved", Leo commented as he let go of Mia's fist and leg at the same time causing her to fall on her butt.

"And you're as mean as always.", Dusting off the dirt on her skirt Mia got up and looked at Leo with an upset face.

"I have already told you many times before that it is not going to work", Picking up the school bag Mia dropped, Leo handed it back to her.

"Tsk even after I went through so much trouble to get the two of you together", Mia said in an annoyed voice as she snatched her bag away from Leo's hand.

"I never asked you to do anything like that in the first place"

Leo raised his hand and pecked Mia's forehead with his finger. Making Mia cry out in pain as she took few steps back while her forehead became red.

"That hurts you je*k"

"You deserved it"

Once again Leo raised his hand to attack but this time Mia backed off like a scared kitten.

"Fine then stay single for the rest of your life idi*t!!"

"Instead of worrying about others you should worry about yourself first", Leo said as he pointed his back.

"What do you me-----", Mia stopped mid-sentence as she saw a familiar face intently staring at them from behind the wall with only her face sticking out.

"Traitor.....", Ella muttered with hollowed eyes as her face slowly disappeared behind the wall.

"W-wait it's not what you think!!"

Shouting at the top of her lungs, Mia quickly rushed past Leo.

Seeing her running away after giving him a death glare, Leo couldn't help but shake his head.

Walking down the familiar road, after taking several turns Leo came before a grand-looking four-story building, Leo raised his eyebrow when he noticed the new model X-200 parked by the gate, he entered through the gate after nodding at the security guard who greeted him.

Pressing on the doorbell, Leo waited for a bit, he moved back a few steps when he heard the click sound of the door opening up, standing behind the door was an 11-12 wearing the uniform of the Coral Public School with a facial appearance similar to Leo's but her eye color was a lighter shade of blue unlike Leo's dark blue one's.

"Welcome home brother.", The little girl said with a slightly timid voice.

"Hm", Passing her a smile Leo used his right hand to mess up her short black hair causing her to immediately lose her timidness and puffing up her cheeks in anger.

"Did someone arrive while I was at school flush?", Leo asked as he ignored his younger sister who was punching his back using her small hands.

"It's your girlfriend, she came just now as we--", Flush wasn't able to finish her sentence as a pair of hands started pulling her cheeks.

"I~t hurts~~"

"How many times do I need to tell you that she is not my girlfriend"

"i~m sowwy~~"

Seeing her pitiful face Leo finally decided to let her go.....only after he stretched her cheeks a bit more...

"Good afternoon sir"

Looking at the women in formal dress giving him a respectful bow, Leo nodded his head and said.

"It's been a while since we last met Miss Sarah"

Using his hand he gestured for her to take a seat while he sat on the one directly opposite to her's.

"Since you are here personally then I suppose that the new version is finished?", Leo calmly said as he pointed at the digital suitcase in her hands with a logo of [New Life] on it.

With a mysterious smile on her face, Sarah adjusted her glasses as she placed the digital suitcase on the table.

"Our company has finally managed to perfect the formula and create the latest model please have a look."

Preservative gas leaked out of the digital suitcase as a glass tube with unknown green-colored liquid came into Leo's vision.
