Mateo's actions were indeed ruthless. Clara wiped her eyes, covered her face with one hand, and held her bottom with the other. She whimpered, "It's clearly your fault, and you hit me! I won't talk to you."
Clara felt upset inside, turned her face away, and lay on the bed without moving. As she reflected on their recent argument, she found it childish, like a temper tantrum. Perhaps Mateo was genuinely concerned about her, but if he didn't control his temper, something bad might happen one day.
She decided to teach him a lesson. Clara massaged her sore bottom, thinking she would wait for Mateo to apologize properly. However, after a while, there was still no movement. When she turned to look, she found Mateo face-to-face with her.
"I saw Thomas hugging you," Mateo suddenly said, his tone sour.
