“Who did they take?” I ask worried about who it could be that would make him this angry. Birsha never gives his heart freely so whoever it is must have been important. A solemn look crosses his face as he begins telling me a story of a young girl he knew named Sophia. She was a waitress and a magical being that he mentored. He talked about how he took her under his wing and taught her what he could. I was so engrossed by our conversation I didn’t realize we had made it to the meeting room until he stopped walking.
“She seemed so lovely. I’m very sorry for your loss, Birsha.”
He simply nodes and opens the door. The room looks the same as it did yesterday with everyone still standing around the table shouting at each other. I was already over it and my frustration level was beyond maxed. “SHUT THE FUCK UP! ALL OF YOU!” I screamed and everyone stopped and looked up at me surprised.
“Well that's one way to quiet the room.” Birsha whispers in my ear before leading me to my seat.
