Said Alex while John nodded and said "you are right those people are valuable how about we buy a few villas around your mansion in this community and make them into homeless shelters and spend 2 million on advertisements we could get all the veterans in about a month if we advertise right we could even offer free transportation to the shelters" said John as veterans were very valuable "you do that John while I get in contact with a few of my army friends I met in deployment also I know that you probably have thought about it but stock up on fuel" said Alex as he reached into his waist and took out the Glock giving John a fright "here for protection if you ever meet those violent people don't hesitate and hit the head" said Alex as he left the Glock with a few magazines on the table as he made his way to his room where his laptop is at to communicate with his army buddies although being in the army is a lie he made up to have more authority he did have army buddies he recently joined a group chat full of military guys from different countries he joined quite a lot of these groups he was scouting for the right people to join his squad he already had spoken to a few people but he hasn't made a decision yet

Alex's mansion and the surrounding has greatly changed the surrounding houses are now shelters there are military tents with bunk beds in every backyard and lawn of the houses he bought the veterans were not bothered in the slightest to sleep in the tents the houses were converted to canteens weight rooms and etc to make people less suspicious he introduced a program to his community the veterans would go around and do work for the people here or else everything would be too suspicious nobody would waste money on more than 300 people and not help them get back their life together, from his memory alex knew all the best opportunities at the early days of the apocalypse so he needed a lot of skilled people to take them, for the rest of the day alex would help the veterans with anything they need as a result they started calling him 'commander' after all alex radiates an aura of authority and sometimes you can't even refuse his commands at night alex will chat with military men and some doomsday preppers he met online
