Start of the War

Kai looked in the mirror seeing the change in his eyes, but he didn't care.

He got dressed and went outside. Today was the day he was going to take part in a war, so he wasn't worried about these small changes.

But that was just him, the other people looked at him and kept their distance or made way for him.

They looked at Kai with admiration, and curiosity.

But the only expression on Kai's face was one of indifference, he didn't care about these people or what they were thinking.

He kept walking, with people making way for him, until he reached his destination.

He was at the entrance to the base, and waiting for him was an army car.

Everyone was already there, except Kai, but no one said anything, not only because Kai's rank was high.

But because Kai arrived on time, not a minute early and not a minute late.

And unlike the outside world in the army they follow a very strict discipline, the cars leave on time, and if Kai had been late they would have already left.

And even if everyone had been early they only left on time, so there was no reason to complain to Kai.

And everyone had been in the army long enough to know about these rules.

Kai got into the car and he left, an hour later they stopped at a military airport.

When they arrived, everyone was lined up and got into a plane in order.

After a few seconds, the plane took off.

In the plane there were many weapons for the soldiers to arm themselves before leaving.

Everyone started to grab their weapons and get a parachute.

They were going to jump out of the plane as soon as they got on top of the base, Kai sat down and everyone started talking, they were trying to suppress this anxiety, and amazingly enough.

Kai helped them in this moment, even though he is indifferent to anything, he knows what to do and that it is not good to go to war with psychological problems, because someone is going to run away or worse attack a comrade from behind.

Kai was the leader and with the feeling of oppression he was giving with his red eyes, everyone was respecting him, and with his help in improving their psychology, this feeling of respect was only growing.

Kai received word that they were coming and he spoke.

"Get up!!!" To which everyone followed his order.

"We are almost above the base, as soon as we are close we will jump, you have all had skydiving training, so you know what to do!!!" Kai spoke up.

"Once we get there, we will stay for a few hours before we finally go to the battle line, so keep in mind and be prepared for battle" Kai spoke to prepare these people.

"And remember we are in a war in war will always have casualties, but even so we will not enter it prepared to die but to win!!!" Shouted Kai.

"Then we will go to war to do what!"

"Win!!!" They shouted.

The rear door of the plane was slowly opened, Kai went to the front and the others positioned themselves behind him.

"We are not here to become heroes but to survive!!!" Kai spoke.

And he jumped as his words echoed in the minds of the others and reminded him of his words from before "People only become heroes after they die".

And they all repeated the phrase as they jumped, "We are not here to become heroes!".

And of course they knew that there are other ways to become a hero, but this is the easiest, and they don't think they can become heroes any other way.

Only one person they thought could become a real hero, their eyes shining looking at Kai's back, would he become a hero? He might not become a hero, but they will be there for him.

They will go after their king!

About this, yesterday at the last meeting between them, as soon as Kai came out someone noticed that Kai looked like a king, at first they just laughed, but when each one was alone they couldn't get it out of their minds.

But this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, none of them thought about the war they were about to enter today, so they slept very peacefully.

And today when they saw Kai, they felt a little pressure, even more so with his changes.

But then they noticed that he didn't change much, only one thing, he had like an aura that kept them from getting too close.

Like he was a king, and as his subjects they shouldn't be or imagine being on the same level as him.

But since Kai is very good at reading people, he ended up making sure that this feeling was ignored by them, even if it was still there.

But that just solidified the idea of Kai being a king, and Kai had no idea that they even imagined him as a king.

Kai jumped and then he could see the whole area, since it wasn't very high, he could only see the base he was going to land on and a place that looked like a battlefield.

Kai as he was falling paid close attention to the ground so that there would not be any problems during the landing.

His landing was quite normal and basic compared to the people who fell after him.

Some fell to the ground, some tried to make a nice landing by rolling on the ground but it didn't work.

It would be funny, if it wasn't a normal sight here, basically all people who are somewhat proficient at parachute jumping try to do that.

And it's natural that the military can't do that in training, and as soon as they were going into a war, it might be the last time they could try to do that.

So everybody just ignored it.

The commander of that base came to see Kai "Second Lieutenant Kai".

"Yes" Kai spoke and looked at him with his red eyes.

As soon as I go his eyes the base commander shivered a little, he looked away and spoke "I will show you your accommodations"

Kai and the others followed him, in fact if it was Kai's choice he would simply go to the battlefield.

But as it was written in their orders, first they would rest here for a while, and get used to the idea, before finally entering the battlefield.

And so it was done, they spent three hours.

And in the last hour, as the base was neither near nor far from the battlefield, it was possible to hear the sounds of gunfire.

It was a plan, from here it was possible to cover the rear in a tactical retreat, as well as to prepare the mentality of the people who are about to enter the fight for their country.

When it came down to the last few minutes, they finally came out, physically and mentally prepared for what was about to happen.

Just before Kai's team arrived on the battlefield, the two sides reached a tactical cease fire, the reason being that both sides were waiting for reinforcements.

But even with the cease fire, they were not reassured because they knew that the next battle would be the last, the only thing they could do in the next battle was to win, if they wanted to live.

Kai's group arrived on the field, and as soon as he arrived a soldier explained everything to him, Kai was now the highest ranking person in his team.

And so he became the leader, normally it wouldn't be like this but it was explained to Kai that the former leader was eventually killed.

Kai took a deep breath not to get agitated, and quickly assumed the role of leader, ordering a new formation to deal with the formation on the other side.

But everyone knew that this was just another strategy to give a little hope, since by the time everything started they moved according to the pace of the battle.

But there was one more thing that none of them knew, this was also Kai's strategy to protect his soldiers, now he was going to see how many people he can protect, his goal is to protect everyone but he knows it's not completely possible.

"Let's get started! Get ready guys!!!" Kai shouted to his soldiers when he noticed some movements on the other side.

Kai saw that they were prepared 'Okay, what was it that I was supposed to do now?' Kai was trying to remember what his next action was.

Finally remembering Kai shouted to the other side "Surrender or suffer the consequences!!!"

Kai's team were a little surprised and didn't care, but honestly they really wanted the other side to surrender, they have seen many deaths of their friends, even family members, they would love for this war to end.

But they know, even if they (the other side) decided to surrender, this was just the beginning, this was just one of many battlefields, and this war wouldn't be over so soon, even Kai didn't think they would surrender.

In fact he only did this because of a movie he watched when he was younger together with his father, and because he was remembering his father so much, he ended up confusing things.

He was supposed to say some motivational words to his team and then start the battle.

As everyone expected, the other side laughed at this, and the leader shouted "Hahaha!!! You're an idiot, you guys are that scared, we don't pray we yield!!!"

Kai shouted one last time "That's your choice!!! This is your last chance!!! Surrender or die!!!"

The leader and his team laughed even harder "We will not surrender!!! I want to see who will kill us!" And then he signaled to a soldier.

The soldier held a grenade and intended to pull the pin and throw it at his enemies.

But as soon as he pulled out the pin.

Bang!

A shot rang out from the other side, just one shot and the soldier's body stopped completely, a hole appeared in his forehead, he was dead.

His body fell and along with it came the grenade in his hand, it rolled on the ground at the feet of the other soldiers, they didn't understand a thing.

A shot rang out and then someone fell to the ground in front of them. The bullet wasn't strong enough to go through his head and lodged in his brain. The last thing these soldiers could think was 'What happened?'

And then the grenade exploded, the grenade mowed down ten people and hurt even more, the luckiest ones were dying on the ground with shrapnel in their bodies, and the unluckiest ones lost a body limb and were suffering on the ground, dying from loss of blood with unimaginable pain.

"Enemy attack!" The people who were not injured finally realized what was happening, I don't know who shouted but unlike the effect of making people get into formation and pay attention to their surroundings, it made people panic.

Which was not a good idea, but it certainly wasn't a normal action, this panic effect was mainly created by Kai.

All because before he gave them the option to surrender, before they didn't think they had this option, many were thinking about surrendering, so they ended up panicking and making other people panic as well.

But that's not all Kai did, he was the one who took the shot, and after taking the shot Kai with cold eyes said "Kill everyone!"

Then his army advanced.

When the army on the other side got into formation it was only after being surrounded by the noises of gunfire and seeing their comrades falling one after the other.

Kai stood to the right of his army, paying attention to the whole battlefield, he would not interfere with his army's exchange of fire with the enemy army, only when he thought his army would get hurt so he would act to protect them.

This made Kai's head hurt, so many images appeared at the same time, but still he didn't rest.

He would not accept losing someone important to him again, at first Kai did not act much because he was letting them get used to the battlefield.

One hour later~

With an hour into the battle they were all acting differently, they were all baptized Kai thought that was enough, he was also getting used to using his skill to its fullest for so long.

His soldiers had already noticed, even after so long they were not hurt.

They saw that when they were in danger they were saved, so they finally knew who their savior was.

Their leader. Their king.

I don't know who started it but it spread very fast through their army and Kai became known in their army as the King.

Kai didn't know that and even if he did he wouldn't care about it.

Kai looked at the battlefield "I think that's enough."

Kai had changed a little, he looked a lot calmer and a little more mature, by this point Kai had killed so many people he had lost count.

Well, he never counted anyway what kind of sick person counts how many people he had killed.

Kai finally decided to go all in on the field, from the beginning he had only served as support, one of the reasons was that Kai couldn't be sure that he wouldn't get hurt or let someone from his army get hurt.

But now Kai was absolutely sure that he would not get hurt.

Seeing Kai actively participating in the battle, his whole army was happy, before when Kai just helped them he had already done so much and now, they were afraid that he would turn into a killing machine.

Kai rushed forward not forgetting to shoot, each bullet coming out of the barrel of his gun claimed a life.

As soon as he was near the front of his army, he bent down and picked up something from a dead enemy soldier.

The item Kai had picked up was a grenade, due to several factors his country's army no longer used grenades, one of those reasons was that as Kai did with his first shot, a poorly thrown grenade could end up injuring his own team.

And as they have heavier weapons like bazookas, grenade launchers and of course the good old missile.

These weapons are not so easily used even with more missiles, missiles are kind of the last option, and would hardly be used on a battlefield, because one thing these weapons have in common with grenades, they do not differentiate the enemies from the allies.

Kai calculated the time and took out the pin, and advanced a little slower, when he got to the front of the army he threw, it fell exactly in a place where there were only people from the enemy army, and none of his army was around.

Before throwing Kai made several calculations, besides throwing in a place where there were only enemies, he still had to see if anyone in this place had any grenades on his body.

Even if the other side used grenades, they were not stupid enough to let many people use them, and these people were far away from each other, and they used very few grenades.

If everyone had grenades, with Kai's first shot he could have destroyed almost the entire army.

Kai had previously paid more attention to the people who had grenades in their bodies and killed most of them without letting them use it.

And also without letting them get close to his army, because they might end up killing themselves trying to take his army with them.

But Kai thought too much of them, in fact they never thought about it, if it were up to them they would have already surrendered.

The grenade Kai threw flew straight at them, they hadn't noticed the grenade going towards them, only one person did and it was only when the grenade was in front of them, about to hit the ground.

Before he could scream, the grenade didn't wait to hit the ground before exploding.

Just as Kai predicted, if the grenade had hit the ground it would give enough time for some people to survive, so he threw it so that it would explode before it hit the ground.

A large part of the enemy army turned to look at the explosion in fear, forgetting the army in front of them.

And Kai didn't give them time to turn forward and started shooting.

Ratatatatata!

Without wasting a bullet, each bullet that came out of the barrel of the gun took a life without letting anyone live, the strongest bullets killed two people or hurt more than one person.

Hours later the battle finally ended... with the victory of the Kai army!!!

"""Kai! Kai! Kai! Kai! """ The soldiers began to shout with joy.

"Why are you hiding?" Kai ignored these soldiers and looked at a 'corpse'.

The 'corpse' saw that he had been discovered "Wait! Wait! I surrender!"

"You are not the commander of the other army, or rather you were" Kai noticed who it was, and some of his soldiers also knew who it was and held him back.

"I remember you said you wanted to see who was going to kill you" Kai spoke coldly.

Opening his arms to show his soldiers behind him "You see".

"You don't have to kill me! I already surrendered!" The Commander shouted in fear.

"I'm sorry, but I don't usually go back on my word" Kai said without really apologizing.

"And since I said to kill all of you, naturally all 'you' will be killed, not to mention that right now your soldiers are waiting for you on the other side".

As soon as Kai said this, he gave the order to kill him, the soldiers who were fighting before Kai arrived raised their weapons, with anger on their faces.

They saw their friends and comrades being killed because of this person, and then they all emptied the comb into the body of the commander.

"It's finally over..." Kai sighed knowing that this was only the beginning.

Kai looked up at the sky and thought 'What I did is right, I should have killed everyone.

But he couldn't help it, even if he thought about it, he wasn't really caring about it, so what if he killed so many enemies, if it wasn't them it would be him.

So even if he came back, he would do everything the same way, well not completely, since he eventually got excited and did more than half of it himself.

Kai looked at a soldier who was smoking a cigarette, the soldier noticing this, and seeing a chance to get closer to his idol.

He came closer to Kai and offered Kai a cigarette.

Kai had never been interested in cigarettes, he had heard from smokers that smoking helped him cope and calm down, not to mention that it was very cool.

Kai agreed a little with the latter, but even so, just to look cool he sure wouldn't end up with his lung.

But now seeing the soldier offering a cigarette, he thought 'Why not?'

His life is not exactly what people would call happy.

So he accepted, honestly the biggest problem would be about ending up with a lung disease, but Kai's body is fully developed, plus with his ability he can feel everything that happens to his own body, so that's not really a big problem.

Lighting the cigarette, he tasted it, the soldier was looking at Kai.

He had realized that this was probably the first time Kai had ever smoked, and he was 'waiting' for Kai to choke to teach him.

This was actually a small test, for all the soldiers Kai was not like them, some even thought Kai was a deity, and this soldier wanted to see if Kai also had the same problems that normal men had.

But how could Kai with the ability to almost see into the future, end up with cigarette smoke in his body for longer than necessary.

Seeing that Kai had no problem, the soldier spoke up "Kai is this the first time you have smoked?"

Kai had told his soldiers that they could be informal when not in a formal setting. 

Kai nodded, and the soldier was surprised, and was ready to tell this story to the others.

Kai didn't care about this little soldier and turned back his time to the sky and thought.

Smoking his cigarette, he calmed down and was accepting everything that was happening to him.

'I wonder what the future will be like.

2 Years Later~

As you can see, with how long it's been taking me to post another chapter, it's understandable that I'm not so excited to do this story anymore.

But don't worry I'll keep trying, maybe there will come a day where I stop or maybe I never stop, but I know how and seeing a story you like more the author gave up on it.

So I will try not to give up for you my readers.

I know it's annoying to have to wait more than a month for a chapter, but think on the bright side at least there's a chapter for you even with this delay.
