The Walk (3)

"May I come in, Test Supervisor?" The mongrel asks while knocking on the door.

"Please do come in, Mr Perospero." Hansung Yu answers.

The mongrel comes in, and much to my disappointment he looks like an average middle aged man. I mean I was really expecting a cartoonish character with a name like that. And Tower of God is filled with those, even mobs. But looking at him, this guy is so ordinary looking that people would just skip over the panel he is in. I guess being ignored is also a skill, especially for a light bearer. While thinking that I nod to myself.

"Who are you and why are you here as well?" He asks me.

"Well Mr Amar here is a Regular and he wants to clear some of his doubts regarding light bearers. Since his identity is special, I asked you to come here." Hansung interrupts him and explains.

"Oh is he from one of the Great Families?" He asks with shining. Probably thinking to make connections to my 'family' through me or something.

"That's a secret but it's true that his identity is very special. He is also the strongest Regular in this batch." He explains 'truthfully'.

"Oh then I would definitely be honored to help you in whatever way I can." He looks towards me with an excited expression. I can even see greed oozing in his eyes. Damn, it's either that the eyes are much more expressive in this world because of a weird law or my perception has heightened greatly. It could also be a bit of both.

"Oh thank you! I will definitely treat you well in the future." I tell him the truth too. Make no mistake this statement is an absolute truth.

After saying that, I get up from my position and stand in front of the mongrel with a smile on my face. I then raise my hand and summon Jormungand in my hand, it usually rests in my soul since it's bound by it.

And then I use, "THE WORLD!"

And time stops.

*tick*......*tock*

Everyone is frozen. I can also see that they don't realize that I have stopped time. Good to know, at least not anyone can feel or move in stopped time. I also know that the time has stopped on the whole floor. The only beings that know about it are me and the administrator.

Anyway, first things first. I slash away all of the light bearers limbs. And then I destroy the cut off part by adding destruction Shinsu Quality on the blade of the spear. I guess being quasi Spearmaster made it easier to do that.

After that I dominate the Shinsu in the room and isolate the sounds inside the room from the outside.

*tick*.....

And then I release time flow to normal. As soon as that happens, there's a scream in front of me.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" screams the mongrel. Hansung Yu is horrified in the background, and there's a smile plastered on my face.

"Wh-what...are you doing?..and....how?" He looks towards me with a tear stained face and wow this sudden sense of euphoria is exhilirating after enacting what I felt was right. Anyway explaining anything to him is a moot point so why would I do that?

[Synchronization = 5%]

Oh? Maybe this increases when someone enrages me and I deal with them? Isn't that too convenient? Well it will get harder later on, though if I go to a cultivation world this will reach 100% in no time.

Well anyway let's come back to this crying mongrel. I then start to torture him according to some memories I got from Freya, anyway there's a free test subject who willingly sacrificed himself for the greater good of everyone. It wouldn't do if I am not a 100% focused on this task. And so ignoring begging from the mongrel, I start practicing the torture techniques on him.

After around 30 minutes of torture, and hearing the mongrel begging for death. I stand up satisfied and look at the alive piece of meat that is left of the light bearer instructor. He can't even beg for death now. Hansung Yu is just looking pale looking at this scene. Of course I didn't just torture the guy for the heck of it, it was also to serve as a warning for this guy if he ever wants to commit treachery of any kind.

"Now now, didn't I say I would treat you well in the future? How could I let you simply die?" I say to the piece of meat lying on the floor with intact eyes and ears and a beating heart. Of course this is all for maximum terror. "Now I wanted to test this new technique of mine on you."

So basically I wanted to develop my Slaughter Shinsu Quality along with Destruction Shinsu Quality. And while thinking about it, I remembered all the characters I have seen or read about that walk on the path of Slaughter. There is one in Tower of God too, and his name is Slayer White of F.U.G. So I took the idea from him to cultivate my path of Slaughter by using the souls slain by me. And taking this mongrel's soul to start my path, isn't that me treating him well?

So I imagine what Slaughter aura would be, and then red aura spread through the spear. After that I kill the mongrel and absorb him soul in my Slaughter aura. So I guess my test of simulating soul eating magic with Slaughter Shinsu Quality is successful.

"Okay so that's all. Clean this up, Test Supervisor. I'll now return to my quarters. Also you'd do well to remember my instructions." I tell him and he nods frantically. I then turn around and leave.

The walk back was not that eventful, I only met Subaru. He asked me to sign his Friend list and I did it. Other than that nothing happened.

After returning to the room. I see Freya operating the Lighthouse that she got from here, and I enter the room. She looks towards me and says, "Welcome back darling, I hope your walk was pleasant~!"

"It definitely was pleasant." I answer with a smile.
