"Faith is what we all need, and trust will get you through, only if you can see." I read the words over and over again, trying to know what it meant but nothing came in mind. After several attempt and nothing, I gave up on trying and started tracing my fingers on the wings in the symbol out of curiosity.
There, another writing, smaller than all the others, written in-between the two wings. And when all the other words were written in bold golden laters, it was written in brown just like the color of the door. It looked like it was carved out of the woods that was used to make the door itself.
"I will seek, I will find and I will know, but I won't tell, let this door not open if I will" I read the words silently trying my luck. But the door open on it own with a cracking sound, and dust run out of it cage since it was freed after ages.
To say we were surprised is an understatement, but shock was out of the question. We were more than astonished when we finally opened the door with ease, and I could see hope in the eyes of my ladies in waiting, even Chesa had the same look on her baby face.
We entered the room not knowing what to expect, but the sight that welcomed us was breath taking. I stood behind Lora, Maria, Lucia and Chesa, who were booming with excitement as they looked at the statues and magical weapons of the old.
Lucia started roaming in the room with kids-like excitement in her eyes, just like Chesa. She opened her mouth in awe and her fingers felt like touching to feel the magical weapons, and just like her, all the ladies wanted the same thing.
"I have been in Celestial Kingdom all my life and stayed in this palace my entire life, but this is my first time getting inside this room." Lora muttered with excitement.
" Yes that is true, all that was written in the scrolls were true, but I never thought that this place was filled with everything gold and sparkly." Lucia seconded, agreeing with Lora.
I let my eyes roam around the room, just standing behind them with astonishment in my eyes. "This room is indeed beautiful magical, even the supernatural powers of it owner can still be felt." I muttered in low tone as I stood beside Maria.
Each and every passed member of the Celestial Kingdom's royal clan was in a form of a statue. In front of them was each and every treasure that held all their magical weapons and the exact wardrobe they wear with their crowns placed on the throne they used.
They might look a bit old and some even had small holes and cracks in them, but it still looked so magical and formidable. With the intimidation we could still feel in the mere statues of the passed kings and queens of Celestial Kingdom, one might think they could even move on their own.
"What are you doing here?" My bubble of silence was interrupted by a deep and annoying voice behind me.
I didn't turn around and just continued with my admiration and thought. Chesa who seems to be enjoying herself even more than Lucia, Maria and Lora, had a sudden change in her emotions. I could see and feel anger building up in her small body, but I didn't speak nor move to her.
Persistently, Marcus stood beside me replacing Maria who left with Lucia and Lora upon seeing him. I still didn't meet his gaze, remembering what I did to him the last time we met. He turned and looked down on me forcing me to look at him.
"Did you lie to me when you said you needed a personal trainer to help you with your fire ability?" He asked angrily but I didn't respond and just looked away from him.
Marcus scoffed, huffing an angry breath to himself while those brown eyes of his started glaring at me. " You just lied to me right? Don't you get tired of lying? And you expect me to simply believe that you lost your memories and don't remember anything." He said angrily and turned to leave but stopped.
That finally made me turn to look at him and as expected, he was looking at me soo deathly that, I wonder why I was not feeling such stabs in my body yet. Marcus's brown orbs were granting at me with so much animosity and I could feel it even though he was caging it in, trying to control the beast in him.
"Then don't." I answered simply, crossing my arms as I also continue my anger and irritation. But his hard grasp on my arm made my hand fall down on my side, and I was turned towards his figure fully with force.
Clenching my fist, I gritted my teeth in anger, when I felt his holds tighten around my arms. Getting my arms off his holds, I thought of scaring him away. "Grab me again and I swear....."
"Swear what? Don't you have anything else to do than threatening me all the time? What length will you go to always get things done your way? I wonder what your parents would have said about your dishonesty towards the man they chose for you." Marcus said, interrupting me from threatening him.
A metal clanging on the floor made us turn to look and we saw Chesa looking at us, stealthy and listening to our tension-filled conversation. I clenched my fist again and stepped closer to Marcus, fuming mad at him by the mention of my parents.
"Don't think am too gullible to simply accept you because my parents chose you for me. Oh so now you are the man my parents chose for me and not my destine husband anymore?" I said sarcastically, looking at him straight in the eyes with a smirk on my face.
Marcus was fuming in anger, but he knew what was best for him at the moment. "Get the hell off me." I spat out in front of his angry face and pushed him off me, as he held my shoulders in anger.
He storm out of the room in anger and passed by Lora Lucia and Maria, who were about returning to the room of old. I ignored their curious and questioning looks and went close to a statue which cought my attention.
A beautiful statue of a woman with long brownish gold hair and an oval shaped face. She had lots of gold jewelries and accessories on her arms, which was made as if she was asking for a hug. The blue silk dress she was wearing matched her beautiful eyes and the stones in the middle of the crown she was wearing.
She had no other jewelry except for a simple gold chain with a crystal blue stone around her neck. It looked so real that, one might think it has magical powers in it. From where I got the feelings I had no idea, but I felt like giving the statue a hug.
I got close to the statue and started tracing my fingers on the face of the beautiful woman. It felt as if I could feel the woman's emotions through the statue, and it was nothing but sadness.
"Lora, do you know who's statue this is? She looks so beautiful." I asked out of curiosity, not knowing I'll be shocked.
The room suddenly became silent as if the world was still, not even the breathing of my ladies in waiting nor Chesa could be heard. For a while I thought I was alone in the room lost in my thoughts, but when I turn to check, everyone of the ladies had her head bowed, including the little girl, Chesa.
"What's going on here and why the sad faces? Why's no one talking?" I asked worriedly, but it was as if my questions fell on the ears of another statue and not the ears of humans.
"Can someone tell me what it is?" I shouted angrily, seeing that non of them was willing to talk. My heart beat quickened and I got a feeling that, I was not going to hear something positive.
" Your... Your Majesty..... please forgive our rudeness but.... but.... am sorry we can't talk about her." Maria, the timid one among my ladies in waiting said as she dropped on her knees, still bowing her head.
"I demand an answer from you, I guess you don't want me to be angry." I shouted again, fuming with anger. The temperature in the room became unbearable for me, and I knew it was because my anger was getting out of my control.
"Mum please forgive them, we all can't talk about her, but that's grandma." I heard Chesa's baby voice saying. I couldn't control my legs as it took two steps backwards on it own, taking me more closer to the statue behind me.
"Yes Your Majesty, That is the passed queen of Celestial Kingdom, Queen Mahalia, and the statue of the man besides her is King Nephai. They were your parents, but you've forbidden everyone from talking about them." Lora added, still hanging her head low.
I turned to have a good look at the statues of the man and woman, which was placed side by side, and for a second, I thought I saw tears dropping from the eyes of the woman, which I stretched out my hands to wipe it off.
I gave the statue of the woman a hug and felt something moving on my arms, and when I checked, I was crying without knowing.
