What's your name?

Light reflected through the translucent glass window and the sound of birds chirping could be heard as clearly as the big bell in the town square.

Unlike his usual self, ZaEl was still sound asleep, he didn't even seem affected by the beam from the bright sun that reflected in his room.

Just when all looked good and beautiful, a loud bang came from the door jolting him out of his beautiful sleep.

Confused, he looked at his surrounding and wondered why he was still on his bed at this time of the day and how he even got home. But suddenly, the bang came again louder and more aggressively.

He didn't even contemplate opening the door. Rather, he used the window to exit the room. It was better to have bruises while climbing down the window than to encounter any one of his siblings.

Quickly, he climbed down but before he could get to the ground, someone had already broken into his room. He looked up only to find Fionn looking down at him from above.

ZaEl's eyes widened as he smelled trouble. 'Faster faster.' He hurried but unfortunately, he heard the whistle he dreaded followed but the flapping of wings.

From his right, he saw the big bird approaching and he was nowhere close to the ground.

Without thinking twice. He jumped down. "It's better to break a few bones of his own free will than allow his brother to take the glory for causing him pain."

ZaEl landed on the floor with a thud but soon got back up on his feet and hurried away. From behind, he could hear the sound of Fionn laughing uncontrollably but he didn't turn to look but rather hurried away.

This had been his life since forever. ZaEl had five brothers and a sister. His parents were prominent in Spiridon because they were powerful gods.

Because of the great powers his parents possessed, it was passed down to the children as well. Sadly, he inherited none.

It was a shame for a god to have no power: therefore, he was the disgrace of his family and his siblings didn't make it any easier for him.

His father was a ruthless man driven by his greed for power and his mother was nonchalant toward him as well. She hated the fact that she bore a child that was worse than a mortal.

If this wasn't a problem, then what could be worse?

Fairies, mermaids, beasts, demons, dragons, this was all Spiridon was about mortals were the minority in this chain of hierarchy but above all, it was a beautiful place.

Wondering about the town, ZaEl bumped into something but didn't apologize soon enough.

"Hey, forgot your manners at home?" the grumpy old beast glared at him. He had short horns and a face that looked like that of a toad. Its body was green and it looked like a level one beast.

"I..." ZaEl was about to reluctantly apologize when someone from the crowd interrupted.

"Hey, Sebastian over here." ZaEl was too occupied to look but his eyes soon flinched and his brows furrowed when he saw the beast in front of him being kicked a few miles away.

The person who had called out for Sebastian was holding on to a rope and slid delivering a flying kick at Sebastian.

ZaEl was surprised because he didn't see it coming. Unlike Sebastian's huge body, this person was very tiny. But then again, in Spiridon, size wasn't what mattered but the level of energy.

"Urgh" Sebastian groaned from the distance where he struggled to get up.

"Let's go... run." the young boy held into the confused ZaEl and ran as fast as he could out of the crowd.

"Hahaha" he couldn't stop laughing. "That was fun. I haven't laughed this much in a long time. Did you see his face? He was like urgh..." the young boy demonstrated putting his hand on his neck and pulling his tongue out as though he was going to die. Another round of laughter escaped his lips but ZaEl didn't find it funny.

Realizing that the second party was indifferent, the young boy stopped laughing and cleared his throat. "Umm hum... Aiden. What's your name?" he asked.

ZaEl did not respond and just began to walk away. This was just like him. He never feels indebted to people and found it hard to socialize as well. He'd rather make no friends than form toxic relationships. ' I already have enough people in my life.'

Aiden raised a brow seeing ZaEl walk away without responding but he wasn't willing to back down. He liked accomplishing what seemed impossible.

"Hey wait up!" he hurried after ZaEl who quietly walked away. "What? You're not going to tell me what your name is? I saved your life back there you know?" Aiden spoke gently but his words were persuasive.

Suddenly, ZaEl stopped and his brow furrowed.

Looking at ZaEl closely, Aiden bent his head to the side and blinked twice. "Did you change your mind?"

ZaEl's brow furrowed deeper. 'Was it a dream? Was it real?' He couldn't help but wonder. He recalled someone asking him this same question but he was too tired yesterday and wondered if he was dreaming or if it was real.

He shook his head pushing the thought to the back of his mind. 'It is impossible. It has to be a dream. I never tell people my name let alone my last name.' He shrugged and walked further away.

Aiden blinked countless times before running after him. "Hey wait up."

He arrived at the place where he trained often and began training again and Aiden followed. "Woah... who would have thought that something like this exists in these thick woods?" Surprisingly, although Aiden was loud, ZaEl didn't feel pressured to send him away. Actually, he wanted something from him instead.

As Aiden looked around studying the dummies that were installed in the ground, ZaEl approached him with a straight face.

"What... what?" Aiden asked startled by ZaEl's straight and cold face.

ZaEl's brow furrowed. He wasn't sure how to say it because he wasn't used to asking people for help.

Aiden moved away from him and looked at the other dummies. He was fascinated by the work that ZaEl had put into making this place look like a training camp.

"Hey. What do you say you and I train here? I'll teach you all I know and you teach me what you know as well." Aiden asked with a bright smile.

ZaEl sighed then nodded.
