Chapter 5: Meeting's End

With a small glow, on each end of the table, our individual rewards appeared for each of us.

But before anyone could open their rewards, Shinsuke stopped everyone, "Wait, we should go one by one."

"Missions might be more dangerous in the future, it's important for us all to grasp what equipment and abilities we have altogether."

Shinsuke had the most experience as ninja's mostly worked in small squads, usually less than ten people each, naturally I trusted his opinion as what he said made sense.

"Alright I'll go first then." although everyone seemed excited to open their chest, even Zuko who got the lowest tier chest, I considered myself the most excited out of everyone, I was a sucker for loot boxes in games.

Taking the silence as a yes, I picked up the small box that was no bigger than a lunchbox, and I clicked open the small latch and with a small click, a faint glow permeated out of it.

Everyone's interests were piqued at that moment, but as the glow died down, the only thing that was in the box was a small piece of paper, very similar to one that would appear in a fortune cookie.

'What the hell?' my first thought was confused, but knowing something was probably written on it, I picked it up and read it out loud.

"3500 Points." but as I did, the paper was enveloped in light and disappeared.

[System]: You have been rewarded 3500 Exchange Points.

Everyone's reactions varied, although it was a plain reward, I knew it was quite useful, and the amount was quite high, as we only received one thousand for the quest we just completed.

"Well, since I went, I think Shinsuke should go now." I recommended, as we had the same tier chests after all.

"Fine." Shinsuke agreed, and opened his chest, and with similar faint glow, Shinsuke reached his hand inside and pulled out a scroll.

As Shinsuke unraveled it everyone silently waited for his reaction, "This is..?!"

"Come on don't leave us hanging." I complained, the surprise on Shinsuke's face was obvious.

"Sorry, it caught me by surprise, this scroll is for a Genjutsu called Bringer-of-Darkness Technique, I hadn't expected to receive a A-Rank Jutsu…" Shinsuke explained, the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique was not only developed by the Shodai, and Nidiame Hokage, but one of the few A-Rank Genjutsu's in the Naruto series, quite a good item.

Although Hyuga's usually rely on the Gentle Fist style, and didn't learn much Ninjutsu, Shinsuke was contemplating that in his heart.

"Alright, Zuko do you want to go up next?"

"Sure…" Zuko didn't have much hope for his reward as it was the lowest tiered one, but he was still excited, opening his box he was there was no faint glow, reaching inside all he pulled out was a small red vile with a tag on the cork of it.

Pulling the tag closer to his face, he read it aloud "A Healing Potion, apparently it heals all injuries as long as one is alive, better than I expected." Zuko said quite happily, although It wasn't some powerful technique, it would come in very handy for when he battled the Avatar!

"Alright, you're up Junpei, hopefully you get something better than my 3500 Points."

"I hope so too, alright, here I go…"

Unlike the other chests, Junpei's came with a key, he nervously inserted and gave it a twist.

*Click*

With the loud click, a blinding light enveloped the entire room as the chest's lid creaked open by itself.

But as the light faded, the box was gone…

But before anyone could say anything, everyone noticed the screen that was visible in front of Junpei, leaving everyone curious.

"So, is it better than my 3500 Exchange Points?"

"I'm not sure, It's say's I've gained an unrestricted version of Toji Fushiguro's Heavenly Restriction, and it's being bound to me…" Junpei explained very confused, but I had the opposite reaction…

"WHAT?!" hearing Junpei's reward I screamed in shock, it was superior to all our rewards many times over!

Seeing my reaction Junpei was worried, "Do you know who Toji Fushiguro is?" as he had a sneaking suspicion that this person was important.

"Listen, long ago, Toji Fushiguro went under a heavenly restriction, he lost all his cursed energy including the ability to use jutsu, the trade off for Toji's complete lack of cursed energy is his immense physical prowess, this exchange is called a 'Heavenly Restriction', but since yours is a 'Unrestricted Heavenly Restriction, you are only left with the upsides."

"He gained, Immense Speed and Reflexes, Inhuman Strength, Enhanced Senses, In his era he was probably one of the top three most powerful sorcerers, but I'm worried, Heavenly Restrictions are bound at birth, who knows what will happen to you."

I wouldn't want Junpei to start screaming due to the pain it might cause, or possibly pass out, although I don't think he would die, it was given out by the System, but I guess we still didn't get to talk about what it was in the first place.

"Will I be okay?" Junpei nervously asked, he was worried about what on what would happen, but also was amazed by what his reward would give him.

"Don't worry Junpei, everything will be alright, just select return and immediately lay down in bed, I'll appear as soon as possible." I explained, I still had to buy another travel ticket, and also check out the price of the Taijutsu I wanted to learn.

"Alright I trust you." Junpei replied before disappearing back to his world.

Turning around I said my goodbyes, "I guess this is the end of the meeting, It's been nice meeting you Zuko, and I'll be traveling back to home, so I'll be out of your hair Shinsuke."

"It was nice meeting you also."

"Understood, have a safe trip."

Getting responses from the both of them, I gave a wave goodbye before I hit the return button.

I had disappeared, leaving the both of them alone.

""…"" The awkwardness between the both of them was noticeable in the air, they both didn't know what to say, leaving them in silence for a few moments.

"Hey, it's Shinsuke right?" Zuko awkwardly asked breaking the silence.

"Yes, do you need something?" Shinsuke asked back, to the still slightly awkward Zuko.

"Would you care for a spar?" Zuko asked, Shinsuke was the first strong opponent he has met in a while, his Uncle had refused all his spar requests, and the soldiers on his ship were all too weak, but after hearing about Shinsuke's abilities during the introductions he couldn't help but be jealous!

"Hm, It's a bit too small to have a spar here, however, I'll gladly accept your challenge next time in somewhere more open." Shinsuke responded, as even if they moved all the furniture out of the way the room was way too small to dodge, one strong attack from either would destroy the entire room.

"It's a deal, I'll definitely win!" Zuko boasted with a smile.

"I'll look forward to it then." Shinsuke replied with a smile also before vanishing.

My Thoughts.

I was going to finish this chapter up last night and post it, but when I went to save it, my Wi-Fi apparently lost connection, and web novel being shitty, didn't save it and instead refreshed the page losing all my progress…

I'm also posting this late, because today is the start of lent, and I was at church and not writing, but anyway it's out now, sorry for it being late.
