The room glowed a bright light, one that no one would be able to look away from even if they wanted to. It was the type of light that made many of the livings fall to their knees and repent. The type of light that demons, turned away from and ignored, knowing that something involving the heavenly beings was taking place.
Beings that had the power to hurt the underworld's creatures. The type of power that would leave the wounded healed. Giving every kind of blessing within blessings. Those who were barren now filled with life. And oh, how they loved those kinds of miracles.
See the living, well not all, they seemed to misunderstand that where there was light, there was darkness. And not all kinds of darkness were meant to hurt one and not all kinds of light were meant to save. Power was power, it came in all kinds of packages and this kind of packages.
Was the type I enjoyed giving to my father.
When the girl disappeared and the parents were close to follow. I turned to my very own partner and we flew towards the one place which we knew would welcome us with open arms.
His wings welcomed the cool air and when he took a unturn and headed straight for the forest. He increased speed and when the ground opened up. They both entered a different realm. A realm that had been his home since he was created. The creatures parted as he flew through and once he was close to the door.
He landed, letting his wings disappear, and when he entered the house. The guard immediately bowed and stepped away from the doorway. His father looked up as well as the council and they all watched him with confusion.
"I gave you a job to do, why are you here son?" his father asked. He gave his father a chilling smile and bowed when he was close enough. "Why have you returned?" his father continued. "To give you the news that you will forever be grateful for," I said.
"Speak." His father permitted. Rising up, I stood and pulled out a globe. One that I mainly used to show what I witnessed. Unlike my father whose power just flickered at the wrist. I worked more like my mother and at times I could switch up easily.
The globe grew and began to show everything that was taking place in the girl's apartment. His father seemed bored at first but then he heard it, the very thing that made him flash his devil smile.
"The golden angel. The one angel that could destroy or control both Heaven and Hell. Maybe even the living. He trusts you with this and I know…. In fact, I understand how you feel but remember everything happens for a season. You are part of a bigger picture now, part of a bigger reason and you now have more to your life than we all ever did.
Do what you need to do. Find that angel and bring that angel back to Him. This is your purpose. Do it and you will return home with your dignity and your slate wiped clean." The globe replayed.
When the globe was done replaying everything, it turned to ash and my father turned to me with a proud stare. He began to laugh. A laugh that was filled with pride and joy yet darkness.
"You have made me a proud devil. A proud father." He said evilly and stood. "You will follow her and do what you need to as my brother as said. Make sure you earn her trust and do what you can to get to that angel.
When you get to that angel, summon me before she summons my own father. Make sure to be smart about this and to hide well. She cannot know your origins." He advised.
"I don't know where her father sent her," I said, remembering that I hadn't heard the man mention the place that he was sending his daughter to. "Oh son, that is something you don't have to stress about. I know where he sent her." his father said.
"Well… where is that?"
"To the beginning. To the garden. Where it all ever began. Where power was new, where everything depended on the little you had and no one could know what power was." His father said as he stood up and walked towards him.
"Where darkness and light were rarely even separated." He whispered and flashed a flaming ball in his hand. "Probably after Eve and Adam had already been kicked out. And there was one ruler that wasn't me or my father."
And right then he threw the fire at my guard and pushed the flame within me. "Do well to survive and to do as I have requested. I will not lose another war to that ignorant father. Do we understand each other?" he asked.
I couldn't breathe, I couldn't feel anything but the flame that was burning inside me. I could feel the tears fall and my body shook from the unbearable pain. It was all too much. All too hurtful and when I looked into my father's eyes. All I saw was the flames.
All I could hear was his laughter.
Than darkness.
