Song Recommended: I Miss The Days By NF
"The one angel that could destroy or control both Heaven and Hell. Maybe even the living." Her father said. The look he gave her was one of hope yet she could see the underlying emotion of confusion.
Of fear.
"Why would He send me on such a mission, such a task, and not do it himself? He's all great. I am nothing but… but a sinner." She said, realizing her place now. A place where all were given the power of choice, all seen as nothing more than just sinners.
"He trusts you with this and I know…. In fact, I understand how you feel but remember everything happens for a season. You are part of a bigger picture now, part of a bigger reason and you now have more to your life than we all ever did.
Do what you need to do. Find that angel and bring that angel back to Him. This is your purpose. Do it and you will return home with your dignity and your slate wiped clean." Her father said, trying to motivate her the best he could but even he had his own reserves about this.
He didn't understand why He would give her such a task. A task that should have been given to angels in his position, not ones that haven't even completed their full training. Nonetheless a human… a fallen angel… his daughter. It hurt to deliver such news but he still knew that they had to get her back home somehow.
And if this was the way then so be it.
"How much time do I have?" she asked, looking out the window with a faraway look. "The sooner you begin, the better it will be for you," I said. Silence filled the room for a second, both her parents awaiting her reply.
She was trapped in a crossroad, either she returns home or she suffers here more and more every day. She had no one here and she didn't want to remember the terrors every night. So she turned to her father and asked, "Where do I begin?"
She felt her mother tighten the belt at the back. Several tools that they had taken time to secure and bring to her for safety all connected to the belt. A small bag packed with different necessities. Her hair braided into rows that wouldn't allow for it to escape nor bother her.
She knew that sooner or later she would have to redo them, to avoid them looking unneat or gathering dirt. Her boots were heard when she stepped onto the floors of the sitting room area. They both turned to look at her with proud looks.
They had always hoped to see her dressed this way in their homelands but it seemed that her purpose was completely different from theirs. Life, have you no pity on those whose hands and hearts are clean? Death have you no heart for those who have become disadvantaged and forced to see you before their time?
"This is your map. We gathered up several places that the feathers were last seen and the place where He had said the last angel was found before his death… Understand Aural as soon as word gets out that the golden angel is being looked for.
All creatures will come out and seek for it too. You need to learn to guard your heart and your mind. The little you have seen on this earth and deemed as evil is nothing compared to the world that you about to enter.
You will discover things that have been hidden from the living, from the underworld, and from the above. Many will be angry about it being found and many will do whatever they can to hide it.
Be wary dear child and prepare to be more wiser than your age should allow you to be. Be strong and make sure to plant your feet deeper into battle. Do not slip for if you fall not many, maybe even any, will help you stand up.
Most importantly. Use but do not be used."
Aural could feel her heart sink deeper into her stomach and she was afraid that the acid would take the little that she already had away. So she took in a deep breath and swallowed her fear.
Nodding at them both, she felt her mother pull her into the last strong embrace and her father just stared, Unsure of what to do. Aural reached forward, though still traumatized, pulled him in, and hugged him tightly.
She didn't know if this would be the last time if she ever saw her father again or if this would be the start of something unseen. "You make sure you remain safe and that you do what you can to get there. I wish to see you again daughter, I wish to see you in many happier and brighter situations. Not this one." Her father whispered as he took in his daughters' scent.
"I don't want to die father…" she whispered as she felt the emotion gather up in her throat again. It scared her to know that life just wouldn't let her breathe and though she had said she preferred earth before. Seeing just a bit of the worst side of it, she didn't want to endure that again.
She would rather be wiped from existence than deal with this again.
"You won't daughter, you won't." her father whispered. But inside of him, he was weeping and screaming don't. "come now it's time." He said as he pulled back. His wife came to the side and they began to chant.
Chant words that were barely ever used. Chant words that only He could understand. Chant words that would take her where she would begin her journey and find who was the golden angel for her redemption.
And by the time they opened their eyes. She was gone and he felt his wife tighten her around that held his. They locked eyes, both offering up words of salvation for their daughter.
