Change of fates: The assassin wife takes over

[Status: Ongoing] ***I update when I can and have time*** ~~~~~ "I can't help but love you, even though I try not to." ~~~~~ “Every time you speak all I hear is the shrieking of a dying cat!” “Well, every time you speak I want to strangle myself!” They both shared a small silence after their statements. “Screw you, Lewis!” Clair humphed and turned her heels, changing her direction to her bedroom. “Lewis? Did you just call me Lewis?” James’s eyes turned wide as he marched after her. “Yes, and?”
“Well screw you too Ainara.” Clair gasped. “You dirty little-“
“You started this first!” Oh, she begged to differ. “You man child!” “Are you seriously speaking right now? You’re acting like a child yourself!” “Whatever I’m out of this stuffy palace!” “If you’re going to run away at least don’t announce it. Look how that turned out for you last time.” He mocked. “Well, third times the charm! L-E-W-I-S” She raised her hand picking up her pace as he still followed behind her persistently. He suddenly stopped and said, “Fine. You can try to run away I don’t care.” Clair halted her steps and turned around. “Really?” She asked. He could imagine literal hearts in her eyes right now. Not responding he turned around and walked to the opposite direction where his room was, only to realize they had the same bedroom! He then turned around and entered their room, slamming the door shut. Clair scoffed and ran down the hall to make her grand escape. ….. A few minutes later, If the guards who were trying to help up their unconscious fellow guards, didn’t witness their King pick up their Queen and drop her on his shoulder like a bag of potatoes, they would have thought he was carrying their Queen’s corpse. With her head hanging low Clair groaned. “You said I could escape.”
“No, I said you could try.” ******* Cold-blooded.Cruel.Demoness.Killer. That’s what they labeled her as, not that they were wrong. She was feared amongst all killers, many said the devil himself was afraid of her. But others insisted she was the devil herself! This was the way she survived, the way she trained herself for the most important day of her life. The day she could take revenge on the man who had stolen all her family members from her. Saved by her adopted father in the attempt to give up on her own life, she received a new identity and chance. Just when she thought she was able to put her past away, someone shows up with the intention of marrying his son off to her. Since when did she get men as offerings? Sure she was a goddess, but guys chill out! "It was love at first sight!" Her adopted father insisted. The way they both tried to strangle each other as soon as they met, was love at first sight? Chapter Forty-Five: The silver-haired girl (2)

*WARNING*

[Please be aware that this chapter contains delicate and shocking scenes used to express the hardships of the characters, which may be found uncomfortable to some readers.]

************

"Hah." The girl seemed amused by her reaction. She sat down in a meditation pose and she took a deep breath in.

Jennifer turned around to face her. Now that she had taken a good look at her she was surprised. The girl was beautiful, she looked like an angel but-

Why was her face so pale? She seemed to be enduring something.

"Why is your face like that?" She asked.

"It's poison." The girl replied. She was surprised.

The girl actually answered her huh…

Wait?! Poison?!

She was about to ask about it but the girl glared at her. She decided to not pry any longer or else the silver hair girl will hate her.

"Why are we here? Did we do something wrong?"

"No. No one did anything wrong. We are just the unlucky ones. If you look closely they captured all the pretty girls"

"So it's because we are pretty?" She asked curiously.

"No. Some of the others have families that have enough money to pay for them. In a few days, they will go back to their families because they are rich. Other's are here only for the entertainment of the guards, the rest is to be sold as slaves. They raise them here until they turn 18, train them in every aspect and they become the leader's dogs. They follow every order they get just to survive." The girl opened her eyes and paused.

"I'm only telling you this so you can start thinking. What category do you think you fall into, Jennifer."

"H-how do you know my name?" She trembled.

"I know everything. I know everyone's names here. I know where they come from, why they are here and when they got here." The girl replied.

"How do you know that? Do you talk and ask them?"

"No. It's because I choose what they will be used for." The girl replied.

"Huh?"

Looking at her confused face the girl smiled. "In order to survive, I'm the leader's dog. I control the cells and everyone in them." She replied. "Aren't you quite unlucky? To be in a cell with the person who can make your life a living hell." The girl chuckled.

Though she was not much older then her she sounded like she had been living in this cell for so many years.

"You still don't get it?" The girl asked her and she shook her head in confusion.

"Right…my name is Ainara. From now on you will be trained to become the leader's dog just like me."

Jennifer still didn't understand her words until later. From 4 am to 12 am she and the girl would be sent into a room. They would spend the room in darkness with no food and in silence.

They did that every day for months. It was sickening. That was the training? She was still so confused but the girl wouldn't reveal anything.

Why?

It wasn't until something terrible happened. She then realized what it meant. They were in that room because they were supposed to fight each other. To see who would become the best dog of the leader.

Ainara was supposed to find someone suitable to become a dog and fight with her in darkness. The one who kills the other would win and stay living. The silver hair girl would always come out of the room in injuries even though they had never fought.

She understood now. She was trying to save her. She pretended that they had been fighting but they weren't able to defeat each other. One day the man the silver girl referred to as the 'leader' came to their cell and dragged her out.

She came back with worse injuries. Why? Because she was punished.

The next day she was sure Ainara would kill her but instead, she knocked out the guards guiding them back to the darkroom, and had her run. The girl wanted her to escape. But why couldn't she come along?

Thankful for what the girl did for her she ran back to bring her with her but no. They were captured again.

Once again in the new room, they were placed in the girl helped her escape. This time she ran and she made it out.

After that, she never knew what happened to the girl. For years she always had nightmares and she would remember the silver hair girl.

She wished she could meet her again and ask her why was she so selfless? Why didn't she escape instead?

A few years later she became an actress. She would secretly write down the songs the girl had sung to her and she would sing it to herself. She would sing all night until she would fall asleep.

She memorized them and threw away the written songs. She now had memorized them properly and she promised to never forget them.

When she met Clair not the silver-haired girl but Clair. She didn't recognize her of course. Yet, they became friends. She never knew until a year ago. She had accidentally seen Clair coming out of the shower, that's when she saw her silver hair again.

Finally…..

After many years she had done it! She had found her savior. From then on she decided to become even closer to Clair and she pledged to be her loyal friend for the rest of her life. She had tried ways of telling Clair that she was the girl back then but Clair never seemed to recognize her.

One day she found Clair writing the book 'The gap between us.' She allowed her to read a part of it and she smiled. Now she was even more sure that her savior was indeed Clair.

That day she told Clair about her experience but Clair still did not recognize her. It upset her. Did she forget her?

She decided that it was okay. They could still be friends even if Clair did not remember her.

That was until she met him. James Davis the future king of their nation.

She was angry. She hates that man to the core. No, she hates the royal family. She hates them all from the bottom of her heart.

When she found out they got married she wanted to separate them. She needs to! She would definitely not allow her savior to go into a lion's den.

Never!

But her plan failed so now what should she do?

'It doesn't matter if our friendship ends, as long as she is far away from that man I don't care. As long as she is safe and away from them I can be relieved.'

Sorry for the late update :/
