Chapter 20

"Cora you're up next" Teacher Fan said as she applauded Alisha's presentation.

She had disagreed with [Civil Conversation: Immigration Enforcement Raids] topic. Everyone had turns even me and honestly the best so far from my observation were Cora, Marcus, Zaden, 'Alisha and Me.

Mia was a bit nervous and stuttered a lot, Raymond wasn't sure which side he was on as he debated for both teams with odd and unusual facts. Cameron forgot the debate topic and lost the papers so he created his own using his in game IQ which was interesting and great in all honesty I mean who knew that Lord Given wasn't supposed to be the king of the Notherns but because of the creators inability to fix a bug he couldn't become king. You learn something everyday...

"Sigh looks like I have a lot of work to do don't I. But don't worry I've already written a list of what all you can do to improve yourself and in our next meeting we will tackle team work." she smiled as she looked at everyone in the room before snapping her thumbs as if recalling something.

"Also a month from now we are invited to attend a debate tournament. This will be good for experience as we watch how other teams operate"teacher Fan said as she gave us all forms to be signed by our parents...

My eyes immediately turned to Zade who rolled his eyes as soon as he caught my stare.Seems as though he wouldn't mind me borrowing his parents and it seemed that I still had to tell him about meeting Austin.

Nah I'll tell him later. Focusing back in front of me I couldn't help but wonder how I'd spend my free time now since 'Belinda' already kicked me out of the theatre club, looks like I'll have to come up with other ways to be closer to Noa and make her mine before Noa bends over to Easton.

My fists clenched remembering what happened a few hours ago but unclenched after recalling her red face.

Packing my stuff I began to make my way home Zade had stayed for class clean up since this week was his mine would continue next week. Deciding to just go to the market place early I took a U-turn I had already finished all my homework at school.

Entering the grocery store I was met by John who was conversing with a short boy with a few bandages on his face and body his mop of hair hung as a curtain over his face as he fidgeted while looking at John who was still leisurely talking to him.

"Oh you're here" seeming to have noticed me he stopped talking as he turned to me "This kid was looking for you" he nodded towards the boy in front of me and before I could say a word he picked up a box of cigarettes and made his way outside.

I didn't worry much since customers mainly came at 5 up. Plus I could work the register albeit a bit slowly.

"A-Are you Cardan" the boy asked in a small voice as he played around with his fingers his voice shaking.

Lifting an eyebrow as I went next to the register I answered "Yes...You are" I returned as I threw my bag a top the counter a little flinch following after one from me who remembered what my grandmothers and mother would say the other from the boy who looked scared.

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you" I apologized as I raised my hands in a way criminals did when told to raise their hands.

Nodding repeatedly he said "No-No pro-problem... Y-You sav-saved me and I'm grateful."

My eyes suddenly widened in realisation "You're the boy from a few nights ago"

Cringing he answered "Y-Yes, I w-wanted to than-thank you" he let a breath out as he finished.

"No problem please any normal person would have done the same if they had seen you" I said waving my hand slightly.

"I'm just glad you're okay." I added.

Nodding repeatedly again he gave me a plastic bag I had only just noticed"This i-is fo-for y-you" he said as he handed me a plastic inside it was a chocolate cake.

"I kn-know this isn't muc-much but than-thank you"moving my eyes back to him and smiled at him I didn't bother to refuse the cake I knew he wouldn't take it back plus it looked very good but I did have a question.

"Who were those guys anyways.Do they go to your school or something?" he flinched away, so not only does he know them but they may go to his school as well. From what I've read and watched from movies, my actions from last week wouldn't stop the bullying it would in fact make it worse.

Damnit.

"I apologize, my actions must have gotten you in trouble but I still would have done it again to save you" I finally said and it was true, I'm the kind of person that believes in justice and I don't have an issue with taking it into my hands if I have too.

"Y-You don't have too, if you had not come I wouldn't be here right no-now I cou-could have been as good as d-dead" he replied with a weak smile.

"Why don't you switch schools?"seeming taken aback by my question his face finally turned to me.His dull and lifeless eyes nearly made me flinch away.

"I-I...I already am, mo-mother and pa-papa got a job in City A" my eyes rose in interest wasn't that place where wealthy people lived even slightly wealthy.

"That's good.So when are you living" I asked leaning on the counter.

A frown took over his features although he tried to hide it "In t-two mo-months time un-until then I'll be st-staying ho-home and helping you around" he answered.

He's hiding something...well it's none of my business "That's good to know and since you're to help I have one question"

Giving me a look of enquiry I continued"Do you know how to clean"
