Chapter 2 ::: Alserius

How did it come to this Alserius thought as he lay alone in the palace hall. He stayed still for what seemed to be hours listening to the heavy raindrops whilst thinking of his experiences and how it eventually led to this. Alserius was not the most gifted prince, nor was he born from his father's most favourite concubine. In Fact he and Grienwitt were the only sons of his late father and although the latter had many wives, he only had those 2 from the same mother to be exact. So even though the brothers were born to royalty, there was no competition for the throne and though Alserius was the first born he never imagined that he would get the crown because unlike him, his brother Grienwitt had the most talent. Grienwitt was dimmed as the smartest man in Brangos history.

At just 2 he had lent all the languages of their galaxy. Although every planet used only one Language except for the universal language it was still a surprise as they were about 44 languages to learn. This however was the list fit he performed as most of the languages have similarities to the language of the universe. His other achievements however were most praiseworthy, at 5 he finished highschool, at 8 he fished university and by 10 he had already invented his own spaceship. Everything would have been perfect about him except for the fact that although knew politics, he was not interested in the state of affairs. Infact his only passion was for science and technology, any subject after that was dimmed surplus to necessity. If it was not about affecting his royal status he would not interfere with anything unrelated to the latter. This however did not go well with his father who had envisioned him as having potential to be the greatest ruler and this led to conflicts with his father and soon he began to show his rebellious nature. He became irritable, violent and shalled this behavior expertially to commoners. At 12 he had already fallen out with his father but his relationship with his brother Alserius improved. Although Alserius was not as talented he had a thirst for all Knowledge and would not shy away from asking his little brother for guidance.

Thus as Grienwitt grew with technical knowledge Alserius grew in wisdom.part of this was due to Alsrius' hunger for knowledge why a part was because he did not want to viewed as the useless bigger brother so he taught himself to be wisest in political and social prowess which truly embraced their father into giving him the unexpected reward of the crown as he viewed himself as nothing more than an advisor to Grienwitt. Alserius initially refused as he thought it would cause a rift between him and Grienwitt but the latter was happy as that was another disruption avoided, thus Alserius eventually took the throne.

He led by an iron will and conquered most of the galaxy through his reign but soon changed about 5 years ago.Thats when he met his wife Octavia and she became his only wife which was an unpresented thing in Brangos history as the last emperor with few wives married 10, his father although he only had 2 son, he married 17 wives. Marriage was usually for political reasons to gain support from the nobles thus it did not sit well with them to see him giving status to a non noble with unknown background. To make matters worse the war campaigns reduced about 2 years ago which was a far cry from the previous 3 years prior to rapid expansion where they conquered three quarters of the galaxy and destroyed a tenth of its stars. Alserius gained fame and favour from the planets and commoners and was crown galactic superior through promoting peace and aid to others. This however further gunnered the erri of the nobles and that's when tension with his brother began.Speaking of tension it too was related to the discoveries of 5 years ago.
