Tug of War

Jun-oh looks from Tae-ri to Ji-won and back to Tae-ri still confused as none of them wanted to let go, he slowly removed Ji-won's hand from his and told him he was going to talk to him later and he walked away with Tae-ri who was giving Ji-won a nasty side eye.

Ji-won stood there as he watched Tae-ri and Jun-oh walk away feeling sad and rejected, he felt so hurt this was the first time he was left for someone else. After they had walked out of sight, he slowly walked back into the library.

Jun-oh had walked for a bit before he realized he was still holding Tae-ri's hand then he immediately let go of his hand and apologized but Tae-ri looked a bit disappointed and they both walked back to their hostel in silence until they got to the door of their room and Jun-oh paused just as he was about to open the door and turned to Tae-ri

" Did you by chance see Min-ho and Sara? He asked Tae-ri who just shook his head saying no. ' That's weird Jun-oh said, I can swear they were in front of us' and he opened the door and let Tae-ri go in first and then he went in and shut the door behind him going to his wardrobe to take off his clothes and while he was doing that Tae-ri called him and he turned to look at him.

' You know you can report him for stalking Tae-ri said, senior Ji-won I mean he added

" It's not that serious Jun-oh said, I even feel a bit sorry for him Jun-ho said smiling

Tae-ri did not look too happy about that and just continued what his was doing in silence.

Sara and Min-ho sat down staring at each other in a café both staring at each other

" Remind me again why we are here ? Sara asked

' You said you felt like drinking something' Min-ho said

" And when did you ever listen to me? Sara asked him again looking at him suspiciously.

' I always care about everyone around me, I'm naturally a very nice person

" So why did not invite Jun-oh and Tae-ri she asked again

' You don't like the fact that its just me Min-ho asked her looking disappointed but before he would order the bell rang signifying their drinks had arrived and Min-ho stood up to get it.

He came back and gave her her drink and they drank in silence just staring the at each other occasionally, then Sara broke the silence

" It's not that I don't like being around you but I felt it would be nicer if the others were here'

' Do you like Jun-oh, Min-ho asked looking at her very seriously

" He's my friend she said of course I like him if not I wont be friends with him'

' I mean do you like him as a man

" NO! she said shocked

' Do you like me?

" What?

' Would you like to go out with me

Sara almost chocked on her drink as the meaning of the words hit her

' I guessed you don't, forget I said anything, finish your drink and I will walk you to your hostel

And they sat there in silence sipping their drinks.

Ji-won paced round his room as he spoke angrily to someone on the phone, he stands near the wall and attempts to hit it in anger but stops himself.

' You're not listening at all mom, how long do you want to suffer by his side? Even though you love him so much

' Just come home and let's talk things out' his mother pleaded with him on the phone.

' I won't come back, I don't want to see that man'.

' He's your father '

' In that I had not choice but I can chose if I want him to ruin my life or not, and I most certainly don't.'

' Please do it for me just come home '

' I'll think about it but I'm not making any promises '.

' Thank you my son's.

' Goodbye mom, take care of yourself ' and he hung up the phone and sat down on the bed with his hands on his head, later he stood up went to his refrigerator and got a beer and sipped slowly going through his phone.

Min-ho and Sara walks in silence as he walks her to her house. She turns occasionally and glances at him but he does not seem to be paying her any attention. As they get closer to her house a delivery motorcycle almost hit Sara but Min-ho carefully pulled her out of the path of the motor cycle and calmly scolded her to watch were she was going. The continued walking in silence and Sara got to her house she was sharing with a friend and Min-ho watched her get inside and he slowly turned to leave but just as he turned to leave Sara came out and called out to him and then he turned back.

" Let's date she said quietly'

' What did you say? Min-ho asked her

" I said let's date! she shouted smiling shyly and ran back inside

' Min-ho jumped up in excitement, ' YES! he shouted and ran happily back to his hostel

Sara ran inside her room smiling from ear to ear and she shut the door and stood behind it laughing and unable to control her happiness. Her roommate looked up at her from the sofa and asked her if something good had happened to her.

" I have a boyfriend' she exclaimed and hurried inside her room

' I thought you said you will never date? her roommate asked her suspiciously. She just shrugged and went inside her room lying down on her bed.

Min-ho entered his hostel also smiling and when his roommates asked him what happened he just responded that it was nothing and went about his activities singing INFINITE's song "man in love"

The next day Jun-oh went about his daily activities but he saw no sign of Ji-won and he was unintentionally looking out for him. Later during lunch Ji-won passed by him without saying anything and Jun-oh felt hurt which was very surprising to him and he wondered why he felt so but he just shrugged off the feeling. As he sat down to eat he kept stealing glances at Ji-won and Tae-ri noticed it and asked him if Ji-won was still bothering him and he told Tae-ri that he seems to have stopped. Jun-oh noticed Ji-won looked a bit sad and it bothered him.

After lunch Jun-oh went to the vending machine to get a drink and met Si-woon and Ji-won there and Si-woon greeted him but Ji-won ignored him and they both went away after getting their drinks leaving Jun-oh there feeling sad that Ji-won was no longer paying him any attention.

Si-woon stared suspiciously at Ji-won. Ji-won noticed it and stopped walking.

" What is it? Ji-won asked Si-woon, why are you looking at me like that

' Nothing, Si-woon said

" There is something, spill it

' Since you asked, did something happened between you and that freshman?

" No

' Then why was the atmosphere tensed and why did you ignore him?

" I honestly have no idea what you are talking about, Ji-won said and kept on walking, faster than before

' I know there's definitely something, Si-woon said trying to catch up with him and they were both laughing.

Jun-oh sat that in his class after lectures thinking about Ji-won and he did not know when Tae-ri walked up to his desk and called out to him but he was lost in thought.

' Where's your mind Tae-ri said when he finally got his attention

" I'm sorry I was thinking about a difficult course

' If you're having trouble in your studies I can help you out, I might not look like it but I am very smart Tae-ri said pointing to his head and smiling.

" I did not know you can crack a joke, Jun-oh said laughing

' Well it wasn't a joke, are you done for the day? I wanted to ask if we could go home together. I cant find Min-ho'

" Min-ho has been acting suspicious, Jun-oh said as he and Tae-ri headed to the door of the lecture hall, ' and I rarely see Sara does not hang out with me these days he added.

' Maybe she has made new friends, Tae-ri said

" I agree and I fell she wants to hang out with her fellow girls'

Tae-ri was quiet for a while as though in thought as they walked out into the campus.

" What are you thinking about? Jun-oh asked him

' Do you think Min-ho has a girlfriend, I'm really suspecting that because he has been acting strange lately

" Probably, with all the secret night calls and giggling'

' Do you think he's dating Sara?

Jun-oh had to laugh at this point. " You've been really funny today, they practically hate each other, that's not even possible'.

' I know right Tae-ri said laughing and then he saw Ji-won walking with some of his friends at a distance and then he tried to distract Jun-oh from seeing him but it was too late Jun-oh had seen him and looked in his direction. ' Is he still bothering you Tae-ri asked

" Not at all Jun-oh said and before Tae-ri would say anything else Jun-oh told him to wait a minute and gave him the books he was holding while he ran towards Ji-won and his friends stopping just in front on Ji-won, he stared at Ji-won for a few seconds then said " I will do it! I will do the project and presentation with you".
