Beyond Earth

"Fear is a feeling, but it tends to run deeper than that. It's like a virus. Resilient and highly contagious. And even the smallest seed of it can grow to destroy you." °°°°°° It's the year 2280. Airborne particles were invented with the intent to eradicate diseases but instead they become radioactive, toxic and severely deadly to anyone who breathes in even a tiny amount. The world becomes a dystopia and is uninhabitable. With time running out for humans on earth, Hiro Tachibana is one of the scientists that has to find out if a new planet is fit for habitation. But when people start turning up dead on the spaceship and there are more questions than answers, Hiro realizes that he may not be able to trust anyone. Not even himself. Chapter 23

ENNY

We waited till they were all gone. Most of them had already surrounded the bus, trying to get into it, while the rest were still shuffling towards it but the surroundings of the building Faye and I were on was clear. We shared a look before we proceeded to crawl towards where the fire escape was with our crowbars in our hand.

We peeked over the edge to make sure there was no infected in the alley before we proceeded to climb down the fire escape with Faye heading down first. My stomach lurches violently when I get to the ground and see Louane's body. There was hardly anything left of her, not even enough for her to come back as one of the infected and I couldn't stop the sadness that immediately overwhelmed me.

'Was there anything we could have done to save her?'
