Beyond Earth

"Fear is a feeling, but it tends to run deeper than that. It's like a virus. Resilient and highly contagious. And even the smallest seed of it can grow to destroy you." °°°°°° It's the year 2280. Airborne particles were invented with the intent to eradicate diseases but instead they become radioactive, toxic and severely deadly to anyone who breathes in even a tiny amount. The world becomes a dystopia and is uninhabitable. With time running out for humans on earth, Hiro Tachibana is one of the scientists that has to find out if a new planet is fit for habitation. But when people start turning up dead on the spaceship and there are more questions than answers, Hiro realizes that he may not be able to trust anyone. Not even himself. Chapter 24

ENNY

Riding a bicycle in the night in the middle of the apocalypse with nothing but a crowbar and a back pack on my shoulder was weird. Really weird.

My hair whipped back and the breeze rushed at me as I pedalled down the road towards Westwilde. It felt freeing in a way but my heart couldn't stop pounding because I was going to have to walk through a horde to see if my loved ones were still in the estate. I really hope they wouldn't be any of the infected that I'll encounter there.

I slowed down the pace at which I pedalled the bicycle because I didn't want to sweat and have my scent overpower that of Ezra's which was on the clothes I was wearing. That wouldn't be a good thing because if my scent overpowers his, I really might get eaten alive. I shuddered at the thought of getting torn apart by infected before I picked up the pace after a while.
