You are my son

When Layla went to school the day they opened, she didn't talk to anyone the whole day, when Jonie saw that he went to sat beside her to entertained her.

   "Hey what's up why are you quite the who day,?" Jonie asked.

   "Ooh, nothing I just don't feel like talking". Layla said while avoiding his gaze.

   "That is impossible Layla, how can you tell me that you don't feel like talking?". Jonie said and touched her forehead with his hands but she took it off.

     "I said I'm not in the mood to talk..why can't you leave me!". She said almost exclaiming. The rest of the students in the class turned their heads to look at them.

    "Ooh, I'm sorry if I shout at you". Layla said when she saw that the class were laughing at him.

     "Don't worry Layla...I'm okay". Jonie said and smirked then went back to his seat.

    (I'm sorry Jonie but I don't think I can be free with you again for I don't know your next step). Layla said and look at him again then bowed her head on her table.

Jonie was a friend of Layla who had also been having crush on Layla but couldn't say it because of the fear of Dela. He had always hate Dela from the first day they met in school. He was 18 years old as well as Dela and they were even having the same month. Sometimes, when Dela was also there in the school, they thought they are twins. He also have something weird about him, but until we find out..neither him non I know about it..

      "Hey, have you noticed that Dela is not in school today"? A girl said from behind.

    "Yeah is true I wonder why".

Another one said.

    "Where will he be?".

"Well, I heard one of the teachers saying that he has traveled to the state and will never come back". 

    Layla was getting mad at how they were talking about Dela, how dare they talk about her Dela? She got up and went out of the class. She went out to the canteen to buy some drinks to cool herself down.

    Not knowing Jonie was following her. after she was done taking the drink , Jonie pay the bills to the woman. 

    "Hey!". She shouted while stepping backward.

"What". Jonie said pretending not to have seen what she was trying to drive them to.

    "And what was the meaning of that?"

"The meaning is that I have bought it for you".

    "Jonie you shouldn't worry yourself about me I'm okay".

     "Ooh you are not Layla, stop pretending to be okay you are not... anyway tell me why you don't want to talk"

     "Because the one I want to talk to is not here and he is gone forever".

  "And who is that, "   Jonie said looking confused.

   "Is okay you don't need to no ". Just then she went away from the canteen hall and went back to her class.

   "Please have your balance ". The woman offered him his balance, but he refused and went away saying.

   "Keep it". He said and also went out of the canteen hall.  On his way going back to his class, he meant a teacher whom he was free with.

   "Good afternoon sir". He greeted.

       "Fine Jonie, how have you been ". The teacher replied him. 

    "I have been good sir"

"Okay ". The teacher tapped his back and was about to go when Jonie stopped him.

  "I'm sorry sir, but I just want to ask you something "

    "Ooh go on ". The teacher gave him the go-ahead to say what he wanted to say.

   "Sir please where is Dela?". He asked, looking as if he was praying for the teacher to give him a positive answer.

     "Ooh Dela he went to South Korea and I don't think he will be coming anytime soon...but wait, isn't he your friend?".

    "Ooh, he is but I just forgot when he told me".

"Okay then if you don't have anything to say I will get going". The teacher said and went away.

   (So it was Dela who Layla was talking about. Layla why don't you look my way a little). He said and puch on the wall. 

   After some time the bell rang for closing and Layla of all people just took her bag and hurried out of the class without even saying goodbye to her friends.

"What is up with her today". Jade said looking in the direction Layla just went to.

   "Hmm, I think something is wrong with her".  Her other friend said.

   "Well, I will ask her this evening online to see what the problem is". Jade said and they both went out from the school premises to wait for their car.

        Jonie kept quiet, till he reached home. He went straight to his room and shut the door behind him. He was as if someone had provoke him. 

     "Mmmm...Dela what did you do to Layla that he doesn't even want to see my face!?". He said, scattering everything on his studying table while talking.

    "Layla I also love you soo madly.. please don't look back on me please Layla". Jonie said while he was going down on his knees till he was completely on the floor with his uniform.

  Suddenly there was a knock on his door. Since he knew who it was, he refused to open the door.

  "Jonie please open your door and have your food please". His mother came shouting at him behind the door.

   "Mom please come in the door is open". He said while he stopped crying and started picking the books on the floor.

  "What happened Jonie, why are your books all over the room!".

   His mother said in a worried voice.

"Ooh.. that is nothing,  just when I switched on the fan it begins to scatter around the room ".

    "Are you sure because the fan can't do that?". His mother said and help him picked up the books from the floor.

   "Ooh that is what happened mom, nothing else happened".

   "Okay dear,r I trust you". she said and continuing taking the books out from the floor, she came across a piece of paper which seems like it had been crumpled. She quietly hide it in her dress and told Jonie to take in his food before it gets cold. Then she asked for her leave and went out.

  Not knowing Jonie had already seen her.

"Mom so you won't also change..why is the world against me..why..why is it only me!?".  He again scatter everything from his studying table and went to his bed, threw himself on the bed, and closed his eyes to have some rest.

      "Layla how was school today". Her mother asked her when she was done undressing.

   "It was good mum".

"Really what happened in school tell me".

      "Nothing happened mum school was normal ". She said while looking straight onto her food not even sparing her mother a look.

   "Are you sure you are okay".

Her mother said, looking concerned as a mother.

   "I'm fine mum nothing is wrong with me"

"Okay then finish eating and get back to your room to do your assignment"

She didn't talk but nobbed her head rather. Her mother could see that something was smelling fishy about her behavior at that instant.

Because her daughter Layla never keeps quiet when she comes back from school it was only that day she was behaving like that.

A minute later Layla's phone began to ring and it was a call from Dela, she quickly picked it up and left her food there while she went out of the dining hall.

"Hello Layla, what's up". Dela said

  " Good dear, your side ".

" I'm good ..  I'm good.. so what is going on, I mean how is school life going ".

   " Well everything is boring without you"

" Mee!!

     " Yeah, I wasn't even able to enjoy the class well today without you.

   " I know Layla..but could you believe what happened on my first day in school ". 

    " Yeah, I even wanted to ask you, how was your first day in school ".

    "  mmm...the school is called LING'S HIGH SCHOOL and in there we don't wear a uniform, but rather any outfit you think is good. and everything you want in the school, you have to log into the school platform before you gonna know... sounds crazy right? ". he said in a funny voice.

"mm..a kind of, and what happened again? ". Layla said while tapping her feet on the floor.

" And I even got to know a guy call king whom I talked to the whole day. Because of his plenty talks people got to know who I was and come and see how they all wanted to have pictures of me".

    " Woah..I knew it, I know that when they come to know about that you gonna be the news for the school the whole term".

    " Yeah I know and  I shouldn't have told that boy he went out to spread it around the school ".

   " Haha.. good for you, you have someone to spread your name out". Layla teases.

   " Don't tease me please I didn't even know why I told him that ".

    Layla kept on talking with Dela on the phone, not knowing her mother was standing right at her back. And she heard all that they were talking about. Good for them they did not say anything about their relationship so her mother thought it was friendly talk and she went back to the hall.

    Jonie was having a strange dream just when he fell asleep on his bed. He couldn't take the dreams anymore so he woke up with a kind of force that seems like someone was pushing him out of his dreams.

    " Noo!!!". He shouted and woke up, at once his beautiful brown eyes turned red as blood and in the next minute fire flames began to burn in his eyes and the whole room was hot as if the house was on fire but he couldn't feel anything.

Just then he felt like he was floating in the air and the next moment he was down to the ground and everything vanished.

    " What just happened to me ..I..I..was in the fire right now and ...wow what all this?". When that was happening all the lights in the house went off, but because it was in the middle of the night and no one was out, it didn't create too much curious for anyone except Jonie who was looking for his phone to check what time it was and when he got his phone, he saw that it was 12:00 exactly with no seconds.

    " Wow ..so what is all this about?". Just then he remembered the dream he had.

  In his dream he saw two tall guys who were playing football on a field, one was wearing white and the other one was wearing off -yellow

After playing the ball for some time, the one wearing the white shirt left the Field to have some rest but the off-yellow guy didn't want to allow him to go.

  "Hey, where u dey go...we no fi finish playing the ball but you dey run already".

   The yellow guy said.

   " Ooh naa I make tired.. make we do am later". They were speaking in broken English. Jonie wanted to join them but at the same time, he was afraid maybe he wasn't welcome there.

He thought it was just a football they were playing, but just then, there was a huge fire that suddenly surrounded the field, and there were a whole lot of people from the yellow guy side.

   " What is happening?". Jonie said and began to step backward. Just when he took another step back, he saw a whole lot of other people coming from the white guy's side.

   " What is going on, I thought they were just playing a game, and now what just happened! why, are they going to fight?". He kept on talking to himself till he felt a hot hand on his shoulder then he exclaimed.

    " Ouch!!..who is that!". He turned to meet a pair of two burning eyes, he got too fighter that he slipped off and fell to the ground. The man was far taller than him and it was like all of them there were taller than him. 

   " My son don't be afraid, your daddy had now found you. All those here are your servant my dear ". Jonie seem to be confused about what the man was talking about.

   " What do you mean I'm your son..no ..I'm not I have a father who loves me please don't take me away from him!".

   " No my dear Jonie, he is not your father he is also your servant..and".

   " Shut up!!.. please leave me alone and go away please go I'm not your son I have a family so leave me alone I'm already in a mess". He said shouting on top of his voice while he covered his ears with his two hands.

   " No my dear you are too young to be saying that ..hmm okay tell me what you need". The man sigged and went down on his knees.

   " Did you just ask me what I need? ". Jonie said, taking his hands off his ears.

   " Yes my dear". without thinking twice about what he really wanted, he just opened his mouth and said anything in his mind.

" I want powers to stop my mom from doing bad things and also to get the one I love ".

   " The one you love ".

" Yes the love I love and it should be only me to love her till death do us apart ".

   " Wo,w my boy is grown up".

" I said I'm not your son stop saying that!!". 

   " You are my son and my blood runs through your veins ..if you want proof then see this for yourself ". the man got up from the ground and pulled him up also, then he begin to show him all that he needed to know.

    Everything was like a movie to him when they got to a place where he finally saw that the woman he had been calling a mother wasn't even his real mother but his real mother was also a supernatural being with very good powers than his dad. They finally arrived at a very cold place and all that Jonie saw was that,

there was a beautiful woman who seem to have just given birth and was walking barefoot on the cold ground with her baby in her hands.

After walking for a while, she came across another woman who was crying and shouting that her world had come to an end. With her baby he tried calming the woman down when all she heard was a gunshot that was shot straight on her back and she fell to the ground without even saying a word.

The woman quickly took the child, laughed wickedly and went away. That was what made Jonie shouted in his dream and woke up to meet it in reality too.

Because he was very angry to see that his so call wicked mother took him away from his real mother.
