After completing the graduation ceremony that day, it was getting late and was almost night, but yet she left the academy and decided to go home, since she wanted to find out what was going on from the others.
As she was walking to go home, the thought about people calling her father a traitor, came to her mind and her brows furrowed as she wondered what was going on and she was also worried about her father.
She knew no matter what her father does in his life, he would never betray anyone like that or do a deed that would make people call him a traitor and she hoped with all of her heart, that he was alright.
"There is no way that my father would be a traitor, I don't believe that for a second, something just doesn't feel right about this..." She mumbled with her eyes narrowed.
A little while after, when the girl arrived where she was living, she noticed a few soldiers outside of their home and saw that Maria was talking to them.
"What is going on here?" She asked as she approached them and Maria's eyes widened as she looked at the girl.
"Adiria, what are you doing here?" Maria asked.
"I decided to come home after hearing a few stupid rumors from the blastaed nobles about my father, where is he? Is he home? If not, why are they here?" She asked and Maria sighed.
The girl glanced at the soldiers and her brows furrowed as the one, whom she never trusted since she was a child, stepped forward and he looked at her.
"You have grown up into quite a fine young woman, Adiria," He said and Marai grabbed the girl's hand, pulling her behind her and Adiria glanced at her.
"Say what you want to and leave please, you have no business here when her father is not home," She replied and a smirk appeared on his face.
"Yeah, you are right, but you see you can't chase me because I got permission from the higher ups to come here, after all, I have some interesting news about a certain traitor," He said and Adiria flinched.
"Don't you dare call him that, you bastard," Maria replied and the guy scoffed.
"Traitor?" Adiria mumbled and the guy peeked at her.
"Come out from behind her if you want to talk, Adiria," He said and the girl stepped forward.
"Adiria, you don't have to listen to him," Maria said.
"Be quiet, Maria," She replied and the woman sighed then lowered her head.
"Why are you accusing my father of being a traitor? Do you dislike him that much?" She asked.
"It's true that your father and I hardly get along but, I won't accuse someone of such a crime, they had proof, your father worked with the enemies, why? That we don't know not as yet at least, but he is a traitor and that's the face, which you now have to accept," He responded.
The girl lowered her head, as she thought about everything her father had ever taught her and her brows furrowed as she clenched her fists and Maraia glanced at her, then sighed.
"I don't believe it... I never will, my father gave his life, his time with his own family and you say he is a traitor? Have the higher ups lost their minds?" She shouted and Marai left staring at her.
"If I were you, I would be careful with my words, little girl, you are the daughter of a traitor, the only reason you are not in cuffs is because you did nothing wrong, but your father's tile is stained, you might want to consider changing it and accept reality, he betrayed the kingdom, he is traitor," He said.
"I don't believe you, you don't even have enough proof to convince me, I was right about some of the nobles in this kingdom, they are more rotten than demons," She replied andhe gritted his teeth.
"I told you to watch your tongue," He said as he was about to slap her and she grabbed onto his hand, tightly.
"Adiria..." Maria mumbled.
"Don't even think about it, my father never raised his hand on me, what makes you think that you can and get away with it?" She asked then released his hand.
"I don't care what you say, I know my father, he would never do such a thing, there must be some kind of mistake somewhere, he sacrificed everything just because he had to be in the army, serving this kingdom, this is not right," She said.
"It's okay Adiria, relax a little, we will get to the bottom of all this soon," Maria replied as she patted the girl on her shoulder.
"How did this happen? I only talked to him a few days ago, he never mentioned anything to me, why? Whi is this happen when I know my father is innocent?" She mumbled before exhaling deeply and she began seeing double.
"It is the truth, sooner or later you will have to accept, there is no walking away, it's what he did, whether you want to accept it or not, it doesn't change the fact," He said and she looked at him.
"I don't care about what you people think, I don't accept this," She replied as her eyes narrowed and the two of them stared at each other, as Maria glanced at them.
'Something really doesn't feel right here, this guy, he clearly is happy about the situation, my heart and soul is telling me my father is innocent, they don't have too much of a solid proof either, what's going on here?' She wondered as the guy's eyes narrowed.
"I- Where is my father? Maybe with his help we can solve all of this, we can find out what really happened and if he didn't do anything wrong, his name will be cleared as well, is he coming home? Or is he in jail?" She asked and the guy sighed.
"Your father won't ever be coming back," He responded.
"Wh- What do you mean by that?" She asked in a hesitant tone and the girl took out her father's sword and showed it to her.
"Your father is dead," He said and her eyes widened as she stared at the sword and Maria gasped, as lightning flashed in the sky, above them.
