After a long night, the next morning when the girl woke up, she stretched off then sat up on the bed, before her eyes landed on the bracelet, she noticed that the colours of its eyes, seemed brighter and she scoffed, completely ignoring it, for she believed that she was mistaken.
Little did she know that, the peaceful life she was living was only going to last for a little while longer and the couple of years that were left, were all she had with the people she cared about.
The girl got off of her bed, went to freshen up, then got ready to get to classes, when she finished, she went to the living room, greeted the others then sat down for breakfast with her father, who was reading through a few papers at the time.
"What's that, father?" She asked.
"It's a few things relating to people that you might say are bad guys, we have to gather evidence and so on to handle this matter, it's not one that can be taken care of easily," He responded and her brows furrowed.
"So, you were given a case, I guess you can't give me the details, right?" She asked.
"Right, I can't, sorry," He responded.
"You don't have to apologize for everything, I understand and I was just making sure, that's all, no need to stress yourself out, just relax and I am sure you will be able to figure things out," She said and he chuckled then she continued eating her food.
"Ah, Adiria, are you having any kind of trouble in the academy with the nobles?" He asked and she glanced at him, then at Maria, who lowered her gaze.
Adiria sighed then smiled, she knew that the woman only told him because she had the best interest at heart and was worried as well.
"No, not anymore, I am handling the matter like I would an egg, don't worry about it and trust me, no one can do me things and get away with it just like that nor will I let them, don't worry too much, put your mind at ease, your daughter will let no one walk on her, it's something I got from mom," She responded.
"Is that so? Okay, I will leave it to you for now, but later on, if the situation gets worse, I will take over and make sure you tell me and not keep it to yourself, you are my daughter and my responsibility, got it?" Her father asked.
"Got it, I will make sure to tell you, relax and have your breakfast, it will go cold," She responded and he chuckled then they continued eating their food.
A little while after, when she was finished, she grabbed her bag then kissed her father on his cheeks and greeted the others, before rushing off to go to the academy, since she didn't want to be late and she woke up a little late, that morning.
From that day onward, Adiria smiled a lot more than she did before and got the chance to spend a lot more time with her father, learning many different things together and going on vacations.
Both of them tried to make the best of the two months he was going to be home and she intended to enjoy every bit of it, for she feared that one day, something bad may happen.
No matter how long her father went away for, no matter what some said about child neglection, she knew her father loved her to the point he would give his life for her.
She knew that he was working hard, so that she could get a good life and grow up well, to be independent, just like her mother, for he saw his wife's reflection in the child.
Her father was a loyal soldier and worked for honest people, but not because he did, meant that everything that was ordered by the royals, was right or that he would just follow any order blindly.
He was the type to be certain of things first, which only irritated some people around him, because all they cared about was their money and to increase their ranks.
After spending the full two months with his daughter, it was time for him to return, of course, she was still reluctant to send him, since she had a terrible feeling about him going back, but she couldn't get in the way and once again stifled what she was actually feeling at the time.
Little did the poor girl know, that things were indeed against her and it was not like this for the first time, but even in her previous life, she still had a lingering feeling, as though the gods were against her existence, even though she had no memories from her previous life.
She felt as though, she may end up alone due to having to deal with everything that happened around her and keep it to herself in the end, not saying how she actually felt about it.
After her father returned to the army, she changed up a lot of things and began doing many different things, alongside her studies.
As time went by, her father kept his promise and wrote to her constantly, to put her to ease and even sent gifts, at times, as the years went by, he even came out on vacations, which he demanded from his superiors, for he didn't want to let her down.
The girl was pleased by his efforts and always looked forward to seeing him, even though it was for a short time, it still made her feel good, since he didn't have long to be in the army and was planning to retire soon, so that he could come home to his family.
Just before the girl's eighteenth birthday, on the day she was graduating from the academy, she began hearing things that didn't please her ears, things that made her angry, which were all about her father being a traitor, from some of the nobles, but didn't listen to them.
That day, the girl was hoping to see her father during the graduation but noticed that he didn't make it and she carried on throughout the day, even though she was not happy, since she wanted him to be there, she completed her graduation ceremony.
But time caught up to them, little did she know, on that very day, her entire life was about to change, taking a completely different turn, one which she couldn't dream of.
