New Sisters!

Haru moves his attention back to his laptop. He wants to survey what kind of genre the current best-selling light novel is. When he is in the middle of the survey, something piques his interest.

He has checked out the result of the light novel competition in Kodokawa Bunko's site, and the winner gets his attention. The pen name of the writer is 'Towano Chikai,' and the title of the winner is 'A Story of Big Brother Who Loves His Little Sister Too Much to Cope!'.

"This is," Haru mumbled under his breath, "Don't tell me—!"

*Knock!*—*Knock!*—*Knock!*

Haru is interrupted by that knocking sound and turns his head to the door. "Yes?" He replied warily.

"Oh. You have woken up, Onii-chan. I thought you are still sleeping."

Haru blinks his eyes after hearing the polite voice of a girl from outside. Then, he recognizes that the voice belongs to Suzuka, one of his sisters.

All of a sudden, Haru feels a great urge to see Suzuka with his own eyes. Although he has known her from the assimilated memories, he wants to see her with his own eyes. After all, she is one of his favorite 'Cute Little Sister' type characters!

"Ano, Onii-chan," Suzuka wanted to say something.

Haru responds in a hurry as he left his spinning chair. "Wait! I am going to open the door! Please wait for a moment!"

Haru finally reaches his door. He then opens it, after which he meets face to face with Suzuka.

When Haru sees her with his own eyes, he is stunned. The girl is so pretty. Her purple hair also makes her look exotic. He swears that his heart skips beats when his eyesight lands on her.

Suzuka is wearing a pink Pajama that looks like a bunny costume. It shows her toned yet smooth thighs, giving Haru a clear, enticing view. She lets her long hair loose.

Overall, the 2D animation doesn't give justice to the real-life version of Suzuka.

"Um, Onii-chan?"

Haru snaps out of his shock-induced daze. When he looks at Suzuka, he sees red hue staining her fair skin.

Suzuka is self-conscious and embarrassed because he has been gawking at her.

"Ah, sorry, Suzuka." Haru apologized to his new sister. "By the way, do you need something?"

"Well, it's already past six-thirty in the morning. Usually, you are already awake and waits for breakfast in the kitchen. When you didn't show yourself on time, I felt concerned and decided to check you out."

Haru wordlessly nods his head. He turned off the alarm when it rang; he didn't want any interruption when he was so focused on his task. He also ignored everything else, even when the sky got brighter. However, he never expected that he would make his little sister worry.

"So, are you okay? Do you feel sick?" Suzuka inquired in worry.

When Haru receives such concern, he feels touched. As an orphan, he rarely received genuine care from a stranger. Admittedly, Suzuka isn't a stranger in this new life despite he just started a short time ago.

"No," Haru replied. "I am not sick. Well, I have been gathering some information on the internet. I guess I have lost track of time."

"Gathering… information?" Suzuka tilted her head out of curiosity. "For what, exactly?"

"I want to be a Novelist. I hear a successful novelist have a large sum of money from royalty."

Suzuka doesn't respond. Her expression darkens as she is reminded of their family's situation.

Haru doesn't understand why Suzuka made a gloomy face. He wonders if it is his fault, but he is at a loss; he doesn't feel like triggering anything that can make her mood plummet like that.

Haru 'Analyzes' Suzuka to find the truth. Information appears in his mind without any discomfort, thanks to his ridiculous Mind stat.

Haru then sorted the pieces of information in his mind. There are many pieces of information, some are quite interesting. However, he focuses on the source of Suzuka's bad mood.

Also, a part of him that is affected by the assimilation feels guilty and sick from disregarding Suzuka's privacy. However, Haru dismisses that part. He is doing this for Suzuka's sake, after all.

At the very least, Haru justifies his action as such.

After discovering the cause of her bad mood, Haru feels awkward. He never meant to remind her of their situation.

Haru doesn't want to see Suzuka sad. A part of him, which is affected by assimilation, and his own feelings due to his bias for the 'Little Sister' type can't allow it to happen.

"Now, now, no need to have such a gloomy face. You look cuter when you smile, Suzuka," Haru gave Suzuka's head a pat and said.

Suzuka is surprised. She has a wide-eyed, dumbfounded expression. At the same time, her cheeks and ears are slowly turning red.

Haru realizes his mistake. His predecessor had a problematic relationship with Suzuka because of an incident in their childhood. Haruka Kasugano never gave her head a pat anymore since then.

"Er, sorry."

Haru presents an awkward grin as he tries to pull back his hand.

However, Suzuka surprises him by holding his wrist all of a sudden. She then bashfully averts her eyes and quietly mutters,

"I don't mind…It has—*mumble*—*mumble*…"

Haru is unable to hear her words clearly because he is in a shock. Right after he recovers, he quickly averts his eyes away. He feels a fluttery sensation in his chest, and his face feels a bit hot.

Haru has received an effective surprise attack from Suzuka, who is unaware of the critical hit she has delivered.

Although Haru knows of his predecessor's romantic feelings for his sisters, he finally becomes conscious of it. Both of the assimilation and his fetish for a 'Little Sister' type makes him an easy target for someone like Suzuka.

Thus, Haru can't help but give the red-faced Suzuka's head a pat while averting his eyes.

When anyone sees them, they will receive Area-of-Effect damage from how sweet yet awkward it is.

Unbeknownst by Haru and Suzuka, someone is watching them while hiding her form.

A girl with long hair with the same hair color as Haru's hair and the same two antennae, wearing a frilly nightgown, is watching their awkward interaction with a grim expression.

She is hiding in a corner of a T-junction, hidden from Haru's and Suzuka's peripheral view, while carefully peeking on their awkward yet sweet interaction.

Her eyes narrow, almost hiding the dangerous glint in them. Her teeth grind together as she bottles up the bitterness in her chest.

This girl is Sora Kasugano, Haru's new fraternal twin. She is also in love with Haru, or rather his predecessor.

Although Sora knows that Polygamy is legal, she has a problem with Suzuka, hence her bitterness when she sees Haru's and Suzuka's interactions.

"Humph!" Sora quietly harrumphed before returning to to the kitchen in a bad mood.

Returning to Haru and Suzuka, Haru finally stops petting Suzuka's head. He remembers the winner of the light novel competition. He wants to find out whether Suzuka is following her other version in 'My Sister, My Writer!' or not.

"By the way, Suzuka. When I checked out the light novel competition held by Kodokawa Bunko, which got closed last weekend, the title of the novel and the author kinda piqued my interest."

"Yes?" Suzuka asked while tilting her head perplexedly.

"You see," Haru continued. "The title is called 'A Story of Big Brother Who Loves His Little Sister Too Much to Cope!'. It is written by someone who uses 'Towano Chikai' pen name. When I read the content, the story is pretty fun and intriguing."

Suzuka has become silent. Her body is tense, and her calm mask almost crumbles.

Haru sees her reaction and think, 'I guess she is really Towano Chikai and has submitted her own 'Onii-chan Diary' for the competition. Still, she cannot be honest with her own feeling like Suzuka Nagami, huh?'

Haru has the urge to smile wryly but holds it back.

"Ahem," Suzuka cleared her throat, taking Haru's attention out of his internal musings. "Well, I don't really understand about light novels or stuff like that. So, I apologize that I can't help you, Onii-chan."

"I see," Haru nodded his head, entertaining Suzuka's attempt to maintain her dignity.

"In any case, let's have breakfast before the meals become cold, Onii-chan."

Suzuka turns her body around after saying that. She then walks to the kitchen in a hurry.

However, Haru's ridiculous perception catches her reddening ears.

It seems like Suzuka finally reaches her limit and wants to get away as soon as possible.

Haru smiles in amusement before following Suzuka to the kitchen while shaking his head in a fondness for his cute little sister.
