Exam of Knights
After Rokuza and I had parted ways, I started towards the gate I was assigned to, I noticed that most of the other candidates looked like weaklings. There were a few candidates that gave off a strong aura, but nothing I couldn't deal with. Only one person in my group frightened me. The aura he gave off was as cold as ice. Since I found someone worth fighting I decided to look for a place to sit so I could focus on the tournament.
After thirty or so minutes passed a knight walked through the door and introduced himself as Gerard Rosewood an Emerald rank knight and the combat instructor at Kasuge academy. After his introduction we followed him into the center area of the colosseum. As I entered the colosseum I noticed three knights on a stage, by their aura I could tell they were probably amber or diamond rank.
After everyone got into the arena we lined up in rows and the three knights on stage proceeded to introduce themselves. The female knight on the left stepped up first," My name is Leya Raines, I am a diamond rank knight.", she said timidly.
"I have the ability to control energy.", She continued.
Leya held out her hand and a small orb of light started to form. She then proceeded to drop the orb which broke through the stage with a loud crack. "I can create objects out of pure energy and condense them to the point of being able to break through armor.", She explained.
Next the man on the right stepped forward. " My name is Godefray Wells, and I am also a diamond rank knight!", he exclaimed with confidence.
"I have the ability the control the earth!", Godefray announced.
He then proceeded to hop of the stage and unsheathed what I had thought was a sword but was a steel rod. Godefray suddenly plunged the rod into the ground and after a couple of seconds pulled out a sword made of stone that was finely detailed like a royal sword. "As you can see i can summon the earth around this rod the create any weapon that I need in any conflict. Spear, axe, dagger, shield and basically any close quarters weapon you can think of.", He explained.
The abilities of Godefray and Leya are a force to be reckoned with for sure. I know they are showing the most basic abilities they can use, But compared to the man in the middle they may as well have been babies. His aura had an insane pressure and it kind of got me excited to see his ability.
Finally, the man in the middle stepped up and announced," My name is Izune Korizaguya, I am an amber rank knight and the leader of the Jade Knights, directly under the king.", His voice boomed across the colosseum.
"My ability is absolute speed.", Izune exclaimed.
"My ability was super speed but I trained it to the point where time stops for five seconds.", He said boastfully.
Izune was still on stage talking, but I noticed the feeling of standing on sand barefoot. My right shoe was missing and glancing around I noticed all of the examinees were missing a shoe as well. There was a feeling of dread falling over me as I came to the realization that there was no way anyone could win a fight against this knight.
Izune cleared his throat," Now everyone, I know you're surprised, but the exam will soon begin. First will be the endurance test. Next will be Strength. And finally, we will have a tournament between the final sixteen examinees remaining. Godefray and Leya will be the overseers of this exam , I thank you for your time and good luck."
After he finished talking he vanished and everyone's shoes were back on. Izune is the most powerful man I have ever seen, I know Rokuza mentioned him being strong but this, this is an overwhelming strength that no one can match. Godefray announced," You have fifteen minutes to prepare yourselves, be back in formation before the fifteen minutes are up.".
The first thing I wanted to do was meet up with Rokuza to ask some questions about his father.
