Chapter ONE

It's been a while since my mother died in the car accident 10 years ago and all I have now is my dad. I've been living alone with my dad who's always busy with work. My dad works in the office. He rarely came home or sometimes he comes home late and tired. Well, I'm totally used to it. He did it to raised me up by himself so I can't argue with him just because he doesn't have time to come home. He also has a day off but he usually spends his time on the house watching news and sleeping. It's his day off so I think I'll give him sometimes to have some rest and do the things that he wants to do.

Until recently. He started to go out every Sunday. It's not a bad thing by the way but it's kinda rare to see him going out instead of staying at home and sleeping. Maybe he's just hanging out with his friends and co-workers. And it's not just that. Instead of readings news, my dad always face his phone everytime when he's at home. He's like texting someone. I think it's about work but I also think it's not because sometimes I caught him smiling while reading the message he received. It's been a while since I saw my dad smiling into something. He probably found something good that makes his smile up to his ears. I probably leave him alone.

It's been a month since my dad started going out every weekends. Today is Sunday and my dad's day off. He's out today as usual and he comes home at 9pm to 10pm but todayis different. He comes home early because there's a thing he want to discuss about.

"I'm going to married again"

"... ?"

I'm totally speechless. My mind is blank right now. I cant think of anything. My dad is getting remarriage? I'm happy for him but this is too sudden. I didn't even know that his dating someon- oh wait, maybe that's the reason why he's always out recently and always texting someone.

"Well, are you sure of getting remarried?"

"Yes of course, we've been dating for a month now and we're both adults so we know what we're doing."

A month? I knew it! That is why.

"It's fine for me though. It's been 10 yrs since mom died and it's kinda lonely in this house for just two of use. I'm rooting for both of you"

"Really?"

I can see through his face how happy he is. It's like he found a light in the very deep and dark cave.

"Oh I almost forgot. She has a daughter too and soon gonna be your step-little sister, well she's 1 year younger than you so take good care of her okay, Big brother Shota"

He is super excited for that. I can easily read his face though. I feel so happy for him because I knew that my dad suffered a lot when my mom died but now, I can see his smile up into his ears and his face is so beet red.

"They're going to live here after one week so be ready okay?"

"Wha- I mean, okay"

So it's not just a new mom, I'm gonna have a new sibling too.

I've been living in this apartment with my mom for 5 years now. Not too long ago, we're living with my dad at his parents house. My dad is a jobless person and just laying all day and drink a tons of beer everyday. My mom always tells my dad to find a job because she can't handle every finances alone. They're always fighting because my mom didn't want to give her money to my dad. It's understandable because he's just gonna spend it to another beer. What an asshole.

And also my grandmother(Father's side) is always treating my mom like a totally trash. She always shouts at her and treated her so bad until it reach to the point that my mother can't take this anymore. She immediately filled out the divorce paper and leave to that house with me.

My mom worked so hard for 5 years just to raised me all by herself. Because of that, she got promoted at work and now she got more salary than before. After we left that horrible house, we found a peace in mind. Recently, I noticed that my mom is always busy on her. She always comes home late even though her job is until only 5pm but instead she comes home at 9pm close to 10pm. She already ate a dinner when she gets home that's why I end up eating all by myself every night. She's eating with his friends at work maybe?

Today is Sunday and my mom is going out somewhere. She wears a nice dress with perfume and make up on her. I wonder of she's going on a date with someone.

"You're going somewhere, mom?"

She stunned for a second

"Ye-yeah"

"Hmm. A date maybe?"

She looked at me with a red face. I can hear her heart beat, beating. So loud.

"Wha-what are yo-you ta-talking about...!? O-of course not"

She's denying it but the way she speaks and react doesn't the connect to her answer. Suspicious. Very very suspicious.

"Make sure he is a fine man, okay?"

"Yes of cour~oh wait. Why are telling me this kind of things. I'm the mother here."

Yeah, she is a mother but she acts like a teenage girl. So cute. I bet that guy is so lucky, going to a date with my beautiful mom.

"It doesnt matter now. You're going to late on your date"

"I told you, it's not a date.! Hmmp!"

So this is what they called in anime the tsundere mode huh? It's kinda cute. I'm happy for her. After couple of hours, the door bell rang. It's my mom came home. It's still early though. It's almost 2pm when she left the house but she went home at 4:30pm. Does the date didn't go well?

"You came home early. Did something bad happened?"

"No, it's just there's something I want to talk to you"

She look so serious. Is this really importabt to talk to? Her face is kinda red and hot. Is she okay?. Maybe she got cold while going on the date.

"Are you okay, mom? Your face is kinda red"

"Yes, I'm fine"

It became quite for a couple of minutes and then she started explaining the situation.

"Is it okay to you to have a new father?"

"Wha~?"

"I'm going to remarried"

My mom is gonna married this guy? I haven't seen this guy yet. I didn't even know his name and now he's asking for a marriage? Well, as long as he makes my mom happy then I have no problem with that. He's the reason why my mom is so happy recently. I can't just destroy her happiness.

"I'm okay with that"

"Really? I'm very happy. We're going to move to his house after a week so better to pack your things okay?"

In a week!? That is too fast. I guess my mom and that guy doesn't waste any time huh? Hahaha

"Oh by the way. You'll have an older sibling too."

Wait, what? I'm gonna have an older step-sibbling? I'm fine with that well

"What kind of a person is gonna be my new sibbling"

Today is the day I'm gonna meet my new family. It's been a week already since my dad confesses that he's gonna remarrying. I'm still can't believe that today I'm gonna have a mother after 10 years and also a little sister. It's been an hour already since my dad left to get them. Maybe they're still not finish packing everything so I'm just gonna wait a couple more hour.

After few minutes the door bell rang. Maybe this is them. They're earlier than I expected huh. I opened the door and their was a girl. She is Rikka, my childhood friend.

"Oh, It is you."

"Eh? Are you expecting on someone?!"

"Kinda, today is the day I'm gonna meet my new family"

"Ohh... That makes sense. I guess I'm waiting for them too."

I let her comes in my house. She has this hobby to tie up my hair like a girl's hair. I have a long hair but not that long. My hair is up into my neck only. I watched so much Rockstar and I like their ling hair that's why I let my hair grow linger to be more like a rockstar but Rikka end up tying my hair like a girl. I always told her not to tie my hair that way but this time i let her tie my hair because it's so boring while waiting for them.

"You'll gonna have a new mother and sister now. How'd you feel?"

"Nervous of course. This is the first time I'm going to meet them. My new mom and sis."

"But I'm pretty sure you're happy too right?"

"Yeah, I'm kinda happy about it."

The bell suddenly rang. That means they're already here. It's the time.

"Hey, untie my hair first."

"What? No way! You look so cute."

"Whatever"

I go to the front door to open it but because I forgot to locked it when Rikka came, the door suddenly opened. Then I saw my dad with the two girls.

Few hour ago...

While my mom and I still packing our things, there's someone suddenly knock our door and ringing the door bell. Maybe the helper whose gonna help us for this. I go to the door to open it up and there is this man.

"Oh are you Mai?"

Wait, how did he know my name? Did I meet him somewhere?.

"Ye-yes."

"That's great. I'm Ryou Haku. I'm gonna be your father from now on. Is your mom here?"

Wait. This guy is gonna be my step dad? He look so young. He's more decent and mature compare to my real father.

"Yes, she's inside. Please come in."

My new step dad help us to pack everything and it took 45 minutes to finish up. After we finished our packing, we get in to Uncle Ryou's car and drive to our new home. 2 minutes before we arrive. I was so nervous meeting up my new sibling. I was getting ready for my greeting for them once I finally meet them.

After 2 minutes, we finally arrived at the house. It's so big for two people and starting today, I'm going to live here with ny new sad and sibling. Uncle Ryou press the door bell. I heard a sound of two people inside the house.

"Hey, untie my hair first."

"What? No way!."

It looks like they're arguing into something. Hair? Because the door is not lock. Uncle Ryou opened it by himself and then I saw a beautiful girl infront of the door. Her hair is so silky and smooth. Her eye lashes are so long and her skin is so white.

"Hey Shota, this is your new little sister."

I'm so nervous. So my new older sibling is this beautiful girl.

"I-I'm Mai. Mai Haku for now on. It's nice to meet you ahmm big sister."

I bow my head so sudden because I'm so nervous. And there's another girl came. Uncle Ryou and her started laughing while my new big sister's face is so red. Wait is she embarrassed?

" Bi-big sister!! I'm a boy."

What??? This gorgeous person is a boy?

"Hahaha, I can't stop laughing. You should cut your hair Sho-chan."

"And who are you? Are you my step sister too?"

I just asked her without thinking.

"No silly, I'm Rikka Takashi. I'm Shota's childhood friend and I also leave next door."

So there are childhood friends huh.

"And I'm Shota Haku. Your new big brother. It's nice to meet you too, Mai."

"I'm Mariya. Your new mother. Nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you"

His smile is too beautiful and perfect . I cant believe he's a boy. This is different from my previous life where everybody in that family thinks that we are trash. This family accept us with a smile.
