Mallory the unfortunate child born from a human among a tribe of leopard demihumans was bullied and shunned since young due to her being slightly weaker, being a bearer of bad luck and because she was an easy target. Even when she kept trying to overcome her trials and difficulties, she still ended up in a poor situation and that is when her previous life’s memories returned along with a skill which had been awakened. How will she survive in the Danmachi world? I do not claim to own Danmachi, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. It may have seemed like a risky tactic to use but slowly the danger to the life of Mallory was lessening.
Each arrow shot resulted in the arrows missing their target and being unusable if retrieved once again.
Just as she was getting up from evading the third arrow, a figure appeared over her wielding a large sword which was swung down towards her.
The power behind the sword swing was not something an ordinary person could confront and the weapon seemed to be made from similar materials to the arrows since it had a similar colour to them.
If Mallory was hit by it then it would be very bad for her even if she was prepared to waste another level one talisman.
Luckily she was still in the best possible state for battle and her senses were sharp.
She picked up on their movements early with her spotted leopard ears then leapt to the side evading the large sword that crashed down into the dirt.
Mallory let out a sigh of relief then turned back towards her attacker.
The sword carried a large impact into the dirt so it sunk quite far while knocking some dirt around before getting a little stuck.
The heavy weight of the sword and its current position made it more difficult for it to be pulled out.
Just as the largely built man holding onto the handle had tried to pull it out of the ground, Mallory turned her body back towards him after evading the attack.
She leapt forward after turning to face him and her spear thrust towards his chest. "Ha!"
Valis found its target in that short moment and pierced into the chest of the man who was left surprised with a large wound dripping with his blood.
Valis was pulled out causing his blood to spill out more but Mallory did not choose to stick around to confirm if the wound was fatal enough.
The spear tip seemed to pierce deep enough into the body so it would be difficult for anyone to be okay from such a wound even if it did not touch any of the vital organs.
Mallory was relying on that to be the end of them but something strange happened that she had not planned for.
The man suddenly reached into his clothes in a panic when he saw Mallory running away then took out a small vial.
The vial was popped open before being spilled over the wound and drunk by him.
The wound disappeared beneath the bloody patches on his skin and clothes then he pulled the sword out before chasing Mallory again. "Get ere now!"
Mallory was busy evading several more attacks that came after her counterattack then increased her speed again to try to gain a little more distance between herself and others.
Her body leapt from one location to another using her strong legs to let her cover more ground.
Another arrow came flying towards her but the barrier did not break in that moment so Mallory guessed that it was almost time for her to try to overcome the enemy.
Just as she had thought so, the dog person ran taking out an arrow then fired it once they were in a good position.
It shot out from the new position they stood in which allowed it to take a different route to avoid the barrier that had appeared and flew towards Mallory.
Just as Mallory thought it was over, one final deadly arrow was fired on target towards her. 'The other must have been a trick to deceive me enough to allow for a final card to be withheld for the best moment possible but..'
Her eyes were busy scanning her surroundings for potential dangers and threats at all times.
The aura of the dog person was still filled with danger and killing intent which had not dissipated.
It was impossible for Mallory to not notice such a thing so even if she was fooled by such actions of the enemy, her guard would not drop towards them.
If they were still a major threat then there was something she had to be wary of whether they were holding something back or were powerful enough to kill her with their own abilities.
It was strange if they did not act to kill her right away and stood back in such a position if they were powerful enough to be such a big threat to her life.
Even if that was the case, there were always ways for Mallory to fall victim to the enemies schemes if she let her guard down despite there being warning signs right in front of her eyes.
As the arrow flew towards her, she activated another barrier causing the magical energy to take form in front of her blocking the path of the arrow for a short moment. "Barrier!"
The barrier held up long enough for her to evade the arrow once again then her body turned back towards her pursuers with a wide grin on her face.
Blood was dripping down the tip of the spear end of Valis that was held tightly in her hand and a scary look was on her face which showed how much fun she had taken from her battle. "Now it is my turn!"
The first person in her path had blocked her spear but the spear thrusts continued at a speed that was difficult to follow.
They were able to follow a lot of the movements to block and parry it but they soon found themselves overwhelmed.
