"I don't know what else I can do," Safira sighed as she placed her cup down on the table.

Alpha Queen Victoria had invited her to her personal quarters for afternoon tea. They had spent the last month in Wolfenheim. Safira had not felt so at ease in a long time.

"I think I know what the issue might be," Victoria said as she sat her cup down too.

"I'm all ears."

"Put it this way, he's been an Alpha for so long, it's difficult for him to see himself as anything else. Now that he's no longer in a position of power, and… pardon me for saying this… badly wounded, I'm sure it's hurting his ego too."

Safira picked up her teacup before slumping back in her chair, letting out a sigh.

"I hadn't considered that before," she whispered as she took a sip of the piping-hot tea.

"Healing progress can't be sped up. It takes time. He's doing so well…" she continued before pursing her lips, not knowing how else to continue.
