Safira didn't move nor did she reply. She knew exactly what he was doing. He was trying to push her away again. He was wallowing in his own guilt, blaming himself for everything.
She could see it happening through his eyes.
"Damien-"
"What do you not understand?! I don't need your help! I don't want your pity!" He yelled at her again as he spiraled deeper into his own negative emotions.
He attempted to stand on his own again, but before he could even get halfway up, another shot of pain shot through his right leg. He was down on the ground again. Safira reached out her hand.
Damien was about to swipe it away but she dodged it. She wasn't about to take no for an answer when he needed her the most.
"Stop being so stubborn and let me help," she muttered to her in a low voice.
"No!" Damien growled again as he pushed her away.
