Angered

Starlight industries...

Axel sat in his office with a deep frown on his face. He looked like the devil who had been offended by a demon. He was so angry, and his anger was directed at everyone and everything around him. Hannah had not arrived yet and he had work for her to do. He has been waiting for her, thinking that she was going to be late, but for heaven's sake, she was six hours late for work.

He had checked her cubicle several times, thinking that she forgot to see him when she arrived but she wasn't there. He took his phone from the desk and dialled her number for the umpteenth time, but it was switched off.

He was supposed to be in a conference meeting with the board of directors, but he had cancelled it because he couldn't handle everything on his own.

He wanted to call Camden but he remembered that he had left the city for some work.

Most of his work for the day has been delayed or cancelled because of her, and he hated it. He could have done it himself but he was used to being assisted by somebody.

Axel was getting angrier with the minutes that passed by, He took the glass of water on his desk and gulped the content in one go, but instead of calming him down, he got angrier.

His grip on the glass tightened by the second, and the glass shattered in his palm, piercing deeply into his flesh and blood flowed down his palm to drop on his desk.

An employee knocked on his door and waited for his response before coming in. The employee had come to give Hannah some documents to hand over to the CEO, but since she wasn't there, he decided to give them directly to the CEO.

"Come in". Axel answered from his seat. He thought Hannah had finally arrived so he answered without thinking, but he was disappointed when he saw another face.

"What do you want?" He asked the employee with a growl.

The employee felt sweat rolling down his back as he gulped. He was only a new employee. Now he understood why other employees would not dare come to the office of the CEO. The air in the office was so intense, that the employee felt like he would faint if he stayed there a minute longer.

"I wanted to submit some files….." The employee stopped talking and his face, which was filled with fear, suddenly turned to panic when he saw blood trickling down his boss's hand.

"S..sir…sir..your palm…bleeding". The employee could not form a coherent sentence when he tried to speak.

There was so much blood on his palm that it dropped to the desk and flowed to the white tiles. There were even shards of glass still stuck in his palm.

"Let me get a first aid box". The employee said and was about to leave the office when Axel's voice stopped him.

"Never mind, I will be leaving now. Tell the head secretary to cancel all my appointments for today". Axel said and stood up from his seat.

The employee on the other hand, quickly left the office because he thought he would faint if he stayed there any minute longer as he had been holding his breath for some time now.

The employee quickly went to deliver the CEO's message to the head secretary before going back to his cubicle.

Axel strode along the long empty corridors Of the company, he hadn't bandaged his hand, so his blood was dripping on the white tiles as he walked to his private elevator which took him directly to the parking lot.

When he got out, he paused in his steps as he sighted some employees in the parking lot, slacking off and they instantly froze as they saw him.

If he was in his right mind right now, he would have told them off or fired them on the spot, but his mind was occupied by something else. He would think of how he would punish them later.

He hated his employees slacking off! They were not working for free, he was paying them to work for him and yet they were slacking off, and by the end of the month, they will get their salaries.

The employees froze in their various spots as they saw him. Of course, they were scared of being caught by the CEO, but most of all, they were scared of the look in his eyes and the expression on his face.

One of the female employees subconsciously looked down and she sighted his bloodied palm.

She screamed while pointing at his palm, drawing the attention of the other employees to his wound.

He didn't look like someone who was wounded, the darkened expression on his face made the employees more afraid and They instinctively moved back.

Axel's cold gaze swept over them for a second, trying to register their faces in his mind. He tore his gaze from them and continued walking to his car.

The employees in the parking lot sighed in relief as Axel drove out of the parking lot. They were extremely happy that the CEO had not punished them for slacking off, but at the same time, they were surprised.

The whole employees in the company knew not to get caught not doing anything by the CEO because of how scary he was.

'Maybe he was just waiting for the right time to punish them.

They thought and the relieved expression on their faces switched to a sullen one.

They all exchanged looks of pity amongst themselves without uttering a word as they went back into the company.
