Estate

Axel drove along the busy road.

As he drove, his thoughts were occupied by that assassin. He thought he had threatened her enough to make her obey his orders but he was wrong.

He had no destination in mind as he drove. When he left the company, he had thought of driving to her apartment to drag her down to the office but he decided against It.

It seemed like today wasn't in his favour. No, not just today, ever since he hired that assassin, nothing had been in his favour!

He was scared that if things continued at this pace, he was not going to achieve his goal.

The thought alone irked him. He wasn't going to allow all his hard work to go down the drain just like that.

He needed to clear his head, he needed to do something to distract himself from those negative thoughts.

He needed to do some more work, after all, he was the CEO of over twenty-seven companies under him.

After driving for a while, he suddenly remembered the estate that he was supposed to check out yesterday as It had recently been completed.

He maneuvered his car in another direction and after another five minutes, he arrived at the estate.

The plan of the estate was his idea. The entire thing was designed by him and he nodded in satisfaction as he drove in. Everything was made just how he wanted it.

There was a long pathway from the gate with flowers on both sides, leading to the large fountain in the middle of the estate which sparkled and looked so beautiful as the sun shone in its waters. There were lights at the edges of the fountain and he was sure the lights were going to make the whole estate light up beautifully and the stars were going to be beautifully reflected in the water at night

This was exactly what he wanted.

The flowers which surrounded the estate made him relax as the wind carried their fragrances, spreading them through the whole estate.

Starlight estate.

He came down from his car, looking around the numerous buildings on the estate when his phone rang. He took out his phone from his pocket and while at that, he noticed that his palm was still bleeding.

He made a mental note to get it treated on the way home.

He glanced at his phone screen and abruptly picked up when he saw the caller's ID

"Hello, grandfather". He said, " How are you doing?"

He asked cheerfully, but his grandfather's response was the complete opposite.

"Don't ask me that you insolent child". His grandfather started, " You were supposed to be home last week, we were all waiting for you at the airport but you didn't show up".

Axel knew that his grandfather was going to be angry at him. He could imagine flames coming out of the old man's nose and ears as he spoke to him. He was set to leave last week, but he stayed back because of the assassin he caught that day. He couldn't leave at that time when he had finally gotten a lead to get his answers.

"I'm very sorry grandfather, but some important work came up, so I couldn't leave. I will come home as soon as I can, okay?" He said, trying to calm his grandfather's angered nerves.

"How could you miss something so important because of some work?" Came his grandfather's angered question. "You know how important this was but you still missed it. I knew that you were going to turn out to be a workaholic but it's still so early. You are still so young and you have other things to do and explore at this age, but all you do is work at every passing second on the clock"

His grandfather's voice turned gentler as he spoke, and Axel could feel that his grandfather was feeling sad again.

"Don't worry about me grandfather, I still take care of myself very well, so you don't have to worry". Axel stated

" You better get some time off work or I will fly down to that city and drag you back home!"

The sharp voice of his grandfather returned and Axel could tell that he was serious about coming.

"Don't stress yourself too much, I will come back home when I get a chance". Axel promised and before his grandfather could say anything else, he hung up.

Axel sighed.

He understood why his grandfather was angry. It was his mother's death anniversary and he was supposed to be present but he couldn't go because of that assassin.

He dropped his phone back into his pocket and leaned on his car, enjoying the atmosphere around him.

He was so happy and satisfied that he had finally built this estate.

He closed his eyes for some second and inhaled deeply, enjoying the fragrance of the flowers in the environment.

He opened his eyes and looked around, inspecting every corner of the estate from where he stood when his eyes subconsciously fell on the black vehicle that just drove in.

He stood from his leaning position and straightened his back, intently staring at the people that just came down from the car.

It has been barely a month since the estate was completed, so he doubted those people came to rent a building.

He watched as they walked towards the building at the far end of the estate and his eyes widened slightly.

That was his state. He had made and customised it according to his preference.

He didn't need to have his building on the estate as he already owned various villas. He only created a space for himself because he felt he would like the environment.

And he was right!

He loved the surroundings!! He thought of walking up to them but he didn't. Anyone in charge of the estate would just lead them to another building as everyone knows that there is his building.

He kept staring and watching the two people, who he assumed were a couple, and after some seconds of staring, he felt they were both familiar and the more he stared, the more he tried to remember where he had seen them.

His eyes widened as he recollected who they were. Even though they had their backs facing him, he still recognised these two people
