“Little Ren.” “Yes master?” “I’ve been hearing some things lately.” “Oh, like what?” “For one, an Imperial transport from The Great Yang was surrounded and looted just a few weeks ago. Have you heard about this?” “What? That’s awful! Who would do such a thing?” “Also, I’ve been hearing that someone has been extorting the local businesses on the island. Have you heard about this?” “That certainly is cause for concern.” “Hmmm, someone has likewise been forcing the local pirates to pay a so-called protection fee, they’ve made quite a sum I’ve been told. Have about heard about this?” “These are indeed troublesome times.” “Hmmm, one last thing, apparently all of this was done by one group, they say their leader is quite young.” “Don’t worry master! I’ll get to the bottom of this!” “…..” Shameless! My disciple is shameless!!!

Glacial Moon

'Why didn't you warn me?!'

Li Renjie was furious!

Had he known he would fall into a cryogenic sleep he would have never been so rash!

[Huh?! I was going to warn you! You're the one that was impulsive and acted without rhyme or reason!]

'You could have said something sooner!'

[Don't put this on me!]

!!!!!

The two were having a mental staring contest!

Spark were flying!

[Hmph! Rather than wasting time arguing you should be thanking me! You now have two blood lineages! Do you know how rare that is?! Do you know how desirable you are?! Only those three brats on…. I mean… you should be thanking me!]

'Desirable? Three brats? What are you on about?'

[Nothing~]

'What aren't you telling me?'

[*Whistle*]

Li Renjie was done.

He shifted his attention to his body and began to notice the changes.

He looked down at the ice crystals that surround him before getting up.

His body felt cold, but not in an uncomfortable way, in fact it felt…soothing. Every now and then small wisps of cold vapor would emit from his pores before fading away.

"How bizarre."

His body felt strange, he felt as if he gained another pair of arms and legs, but he couldn't quite find them.

'System, what exactly is this Glacial Moon Supreme Physique?'

[Go to the bathroom.]

'…. Don't mess with me.'

Li Renjie said skeptically but still made his way to the bathroom.

'Now what?'

[Go to the bathtub and you'll see.]

Li Renjie made his way over to bathtub that had been prepared earlier for him. The previously hot water was now room temperature.

The moment Li Renjie saw the water his body froze!

His eyes trembled as his breathing began to pick up.

"Hahahahaha!!!!"

He suddenly burst out laughing before lifting his right arm up.

Whoosh!!!

A large buckets worth of water suddenly flew out of the tub and formed a sphere just above his palm!

"Hell yea!"

He had found his arms and legs.

The moment he laid eyes on the water he felt as if it were a part of him!

'Who knew you would actually be so useful! To think you would make me a water bender! You're not so bad after all,' Li Renjie was surprisingly full of praise for the system as he gazed at the hovering sphere of water.

[Are we allowed to say that?]

'What?'

[What?]

'…..'

[Ehm…anyway, don't underestimate me! There's much more to a Supreme Physique than just manipulating a little water!]

'There's more?!'

[Yes, but unfortunately you won't be able to make full use of this body and its abilities if you don't start cultivating.]

'I'm still not a cultivator?'

Li Renjie was doubtful as he looked at the floating sphere of water.

'How am I not a cultivator?!'

'Look at my awesome water bending powers!'

[You still haven't cultivated a wisp of qi! All of your strength comes from your eyes, well now your eyes and body. But still! You're limited to what you can do without a cultivation manual, you need a master to teach and guide you! You can't just rely on your blood lineages.]

'…. So this was your goal. Well, you have a point, but you still haven't given me a mission so that's on you.'

[No rush~]

Li Renjie was still in a good mood as he kept manipulating the hovering water. He would make it form rings or have it flow around him as if a river, he was in complete control and doing all kinds of tricks.

"Wait a minute…," Li Renjie's eyes looked on curiously as he began to notice something odd.

The water was slowly become colder and colder!

Small ice crystals begun to form in the air as a cold vapor began to pour from it.

Strangely enough, the water itself didn't freeze.

Looking at the super-cooled water Li Renjie suddenly wanted to experiment.

He split the stream into five small spheres of icy water before commanding one to shoot towards a wooden bucket in the corner!

Fwwshh!

The glob of water shot out at over one hundred miles per hour!

Bang!

It struck the bucket so hard that it shattered into pieces.

Li Renjie's eyes were glued to the pieces as he ignored the power of the impact.

The water-soaked fragments quickly began to freeze! Within about fifteen seconds all the shattered and splintered pieces of the bucket had completely frozen over!

"I knew it! Hahaha, I guess the word glacial isn't just for show! Hahaha! I wonder how much water I can control?" Li Renjie was delighted.

Cold lakes were perfect matches for the moon!

This physique was hand tailored for him!

Finally something was going his way!

As he thought of how he would trample all of his enemies a stupid grin formed on his face and a dumb laugh escaped his lips.

[You're drooling…]

"Ah…Ehm, don't mind me. Now then, this body should make this whole affair easier."

Li Renjie was quite pleased as he began to make his way out of the room.

He needed to find Zhang Wei.

Just as he stepped out of his room, he noticed a small figure in blue cotton robes.

"Xueyue? Were you waiting for me?" Li Renjie asked the little girl with a smile.

He was in a great mood.

"..." Xueyue's big eyes widened a bit as she starred at Li Renjie.

"What?"

"B-big b-brother, I l-like your hair and the m-moon looks nice too," Xueyue fumbled on her words as she looked blankly at Li Renjie.

She had decided to just call him big brother until she found a chance to ask his name but when she came to his room to try and talk to him, he suddenly came out looking completely different!

"My hair? Moon?" Li Renjie was at a loss.

What was this little girl talking about?

[Hehehe, go look at a mirror]

???

Li Renjie quickly made his way back into his room and found himself a small bronze mirror on a dresser. Picking it up he didn't expect much but soon his body froze.

!!!

'What the hell?!'

His hair was still black but about a fifth of each strand of hair had become blue! They appeared to be cut out of sapphires!

And right in the middle of his forehead was a bright blue crescent moon!

It too appeared it be carved out of sapphire!

Why?!

Li Renjie was shocked as he looked at his sapphire tipped hair and the sapphire crescent moon symbol on his forehead. Together with his double pupiled-silver eyes, he was quite the bizarre looking kid.

'How am I supposed to walk around in public?! I'll stand out no matter where I go!' he cried in his heart

[That's good thing, you have an incredibly unique look! Very distinct! Quite easy to find in a…Ehm, I mean very handsome!] the system responded cheerfully.

Li Renjie was beginning to get used to her and her comments.

Turning around he ignored the change in his appearance and just decided to act as if this was how he always looked.

Simple.

Brilliant.

Genius.

He nodded to himself in satisfaction before making his way back to Xueyue.

"Let's go," he said as he walked away casually.

Xueyue wanted to say something but just nodded before following him out to the main courtyard.

Zhang Wei waited eagerly for them and sighed in relief after seeing them appear. However, he too was startled by Li Renjie's sudden change in appearance.

'What was he doing in there?' Zhang Wei couldn't help but wonder.

Li Renjie quickly made his way to Zhang Wei, his behavior the same as before. Zhang Wei seemed to pick up on the hint and didn't ask any questions.

"Come, tell me exactly what the problem is." Li Renjie said confidently before he, Xueyue, and Zhang Wei began to head towards Zhang Mingmei.

Zhang Mingmei watched the trio approach.

Seeing Li Renjie's appearance her doubts grew more and more.

The three quickly reached her before Zhang Wei introduced his sister to Li Renjie.

"Tell me the exact details," Li Renjie cut straight to the chase after sitting down. Zhang Wei had only given him a rough explanation of the way back, he needed to understand the situation, this could be his chance!

Zhang Wei promptly told Li Renjie the essence of the situation.

'Holy shit! Big boss! This Qiao Haoqiang is no joke!'

Li Renjie's eyes nearly popped out his head as listened Zhang Wei go on about the man.

At only thirty-six years old he already controlled almost eighty percent of the shipping industry on the entire island!

With a fleet of over one thousand ships, vaults of gold, and profound strength he had successfully become one of the three leading powers of Azure Island!

He even offered to buy their ships for three times the market price!

The man was stacked!

Li Renjie quickly had a question he needed answered.

"If this Qiao Haoqiang is so powerful and has such authority than why is he so insistent on getting your ships?"

The two siblings remained silent before Zhang Wei looked at his sister. Seeing his eye's she already understood, sighing she nodded. She had full trust in her brother, they were in on this together.

Li Renjie noticed the interaction but remained silent.

Zhang Mingmei removed the necklace she was wearing, although calling it a necklace would be a stretch. The straps were quite worn out, unassuming, and made of simple brown leather.

However, hanging on the necklace was a milky white pearl.

The pearl was flawless and had a gentle pink glow to it.

Zhang Wei looked at Li Renjie seriously.

"If I had to guess, what that man wants isn't all of our ships. Just one in particular."

Zhang Wei slowly turned and looked at the black ship with golden trim and mermaid's figure.

"Before we were born, our parents traveled the archipelago when they had first met, during their voyages they had a fortunate encounter…" Zhang Wei began to trail off as he thought about his parents.

After a moment he continued.

"In the far south of the archipelago near Myriad Beast Island, they had come across a young woman who was seriously injured. Her body was just floating in the water, and they decided to help her, unfortunately they were only adventurers, they had no way of treating the young woman besides basic care. From what they told me; the young woman had remained asleep for over two weeks before she began to show signs of waking up.

As they had went to attend her, she opened her eyes; at the moment, their entire ship was enveloped by a thick mist that shrouded even the inside of the cabin. After the mist had vanished all that was left of the bed was a pearl. They were stunned and went outside to try and see if they could spot the young woman. What they saw instead was transformed ship! It had suddenly become black, trimmed with gold, and on the bow was a beautiful golden figurehead.

A mermaid!

A few pieces have been updated on older chapeters. Also, I've noticed I use the word "however" quite a bit. I'll mend my ways.

Thanks for reading.
