Chapter V

Daiki's parents, and especially Saori, are terrified. Around 7:40 the night Daiki was acting off from his usual self, they received a call from the hospital. They gave word of a possible fatal head injury, one he had acquired not to long before the call. Saori and his parents rushed over as fast as they could, hoping that he would be awake and somewhat well when they arrived. On the way to his room, they described what had happened. According to the caller, he was involved in a bar fight with a man 14 years older than him. By an examination of the injuries of both, the other guy was also hospitalized, having a little, or just as bad injuries as Daiki. What had actually caused Daiki to go was him getting his head smashed into the side of a table.

There wasn't any direct injury to his brain, rather it was blunt force trauma. Saori and his parents enter his room to see him in the bed, unconscious. His head wrapped in medical tape and is casted in a way. They all take a seat around him, and take in the readings from the computers around him. The doctor says that he should be regaining consciousness in couple of days, but he would still be in an immobilized state. But right as the doctor was about to leave, his temperature started to rise to fatal temperatures. Saori gasped, and looked at his heartbeat monitor. It was picking up, fast. Doctors and nurses rush into the room to see what the problem is, and then all of a sudden... He flatlines.

---

Complete darkness surrounds me. Did I die? Or did I just pass out? I cant tell. Its cold, and quiet. There's no sound, no anything. I can barely even feel myself. A bright light starts to form next to me, so I turn to look at it. Its... A flame? It's not a normal one however. It's completely white, the only other color is the black outline on the outside and select parts on the inside. Its warmth reaching out to me, as if it's calling to me. It stares into my soul, I can feel it. An immense amount of some protruding off of this flame. And its picking me as a victim? No, that can't be right. It wants me, as something else. I don't know for what, and if it does want to harm me, but I have to take the risk. I can't stay here forever. I look down at my hands, I'm extremely doubtful of this choice I'm about to make. I've always taken big risks, but this one, it feels like the choice between life and death. Both of which are roaring off of this white flame. I reach out to it, stopping short for a moment, before touching the flame. It explodes and flows across my body, completely covering me. It doesn't burn, its warm, calming. My vision goes white and I'm...

I feel my back on a cold, hard, but smooth floor. My body feels heavy, and my head hurts extremely bad. I slowly open my eyes to be greated with a dome roof made of what looks like marble and gold. I move my head to the right, and then to the left, the whole room looks like that, including the floor I'm laying on. But the room isn't the only interesting thing. As I move my arms around, trying to get a place to push myself up, I feel a chalk-like substance. I also see a blonde girl messing with some at a table. Is she dangerous? Wait, why am I asking that? I should be worried about where I am! I try my best to stay silent as I sit up, and as I do so, My head is hit with a strong wave of pain. I grunt and slowly lay back down. At the sound I made the woman looks over at me.

"Oh! Your here! Please, lay back down, your body probably is in immense pain!"

She rushes over to me, and gently helps me back down to the ground. This girl looks beautiful. Unlike any girl I've ever seen. Her eyes as golden as her hair, and face as elegant as the room around us. I feel a blush start to form, but not before she has forms one herself. she quickly jumps up, covering her face and looking away. I attempted to sit up again, and my body suddenly feels lighter than ever. From this, I also noticed I'm not wearing a shirt, but I'm still wearing the joggers and shoes I was before. I look down at my hands and chest, and it looks the same. But slightly more defined, kinda weird.

I stand up, fully taking in the room. It's very fancy, and looks nothing like Japan. Just where the hell am I? I look over at the girl, and scan her body. She looks like the average size of a female in her 20s. Her hair wavy and seemingly flowing. Breasts prominent, and butt defined. She 100% could be a model if she wanted to be. Ah, what the hell am I doing? Starring her and her features down isn't going to get me any answers for my questions. I walk out of the chalk circle that I was laying in, and it looks like a symbol of some kind. It looks like something out of a fantasy anime or show. I look back over to the girl, who still seems embarrassed. I start to walk over to the desk where she was working in something. I'm curious about what she was doing.

"Wait! Don't look there please!"

She runs over and stops me by placing her hands on my chest and attempting to push me back. But to her surprise, I stay exactly where I am. I take a step back, respecting her privacy, guess it's something super personal. Or maybe she's just being normal, not wanting a stranger to look at some of her stuff. However, as she touched me, I felt a warmth stir up inside of me. I take another step back, and her mouths hangs open. She backs away and grabs a bird that was just standing contently. She whispers something to it and it flies out the window. She then looks at me, and I look at her with a confused look. She points at my hand, her own hand shaking slightly. I lift my hands up and don't notice anything. But the moment I turn them around, my mind goes wild. My left hand has something scaring on it. It's a small hooded flame resembling the top half of a human holding a scythe... What the hell?
