"Again!" said Stella, hardly breathing hard.
Joseph was gasping, trying hard not to use his magic to help him recover. Sweat was pouring down his face and into his eyes, making him wipe them repeatedly. Standing tall, he raised his arms and the fight resumed.
Those who were lucky enough to watch, were confused how the two of them could move so fast. Their arms and legs seemed to blur, from the speed of their punches and kicks, and when you throw in the teleports and shadow jumps, it was almost impossible to keep up.
It ended so quickly, those who were watching almost fled, as if watching something they shouldn't have.
"Good, you've gotten faster." Stella smirked as Joseph straightened, and with a thought was fresh and clean, no sign of his exertions at all.
"You're right, that did help. I can think more clearly now."
"You keep thinking yourself into a corner, then freeze. I figured this might help you burn off some of that stress."
Joseph nodded, going back to thinking about the laws. As he reached for Stella's hand to teleport them back to the castle, he paused. The people watching them were bowing to him, now that they realized it was him.
"Stella, I've been so stupid. I keep thinking that this world is similar to the ones in my past lives. I've had the solution to my problem, all along!"
"What do you mean?" she asked him, sliding her hand into his.
TELEPORT.
He turned to her, and placed his hand against her face, cupping it gently.
"My people are all Wizar, right?"
"Yes."
"I made all Wizards, incredibly lawful."
He turned to pace, a look of delight on his face as he worked through his thought for her.
"The first law for my kingdom is not to harm another Wizard. If I place judgement spots all over the place, with the LAW rune available, any problem that arises can immediately be dealt with by visiting one of the spots and letting the LAW rune determine the correct steps to remedy any situation. My people shouldn't do anything intentionally to harm someone else, because of my first law. All my worries about men trying to rape, or women trying to rape, or murder or suicide, or anything like that, are all unfounded. If they tried to do any of those things, they would be going against the first law of the kingdom. I just need to worry about the clash of cultures, and as we get all of the cultures documented, more of that can be dealt with in a way that would please everyone."
"It can't just be that easy!" exclaimed Stella.
"Well, no, there will be a lot of confusion as the cultures become known, like with the races that survive off of the fluids of other people, and we will have to deal with them. The ones that don't understand the concept of personal property will have to be taught or separated so they don't steal. Maybe that would be a good law, no stealing from other Wizar."
"Only other Wizar?" she asked, pulling out several daggers and inspecting them, before putting them back in her purse.
"Of course, I don't care about other kingdoms. If they attack us, I want to be able to retaliate."
"I guess you'll have to sit in more meetings to tell them your decision before we can leave?"
"Oh, no! I have wasted plenty of time. I've just got a few loose ends to tie up, and then we are getting on our way."
"A few loose ends? Like what?"
Joseph grinned, almost like his normal self.
TELEPORT.
"Why are we back here again?" she asked, looking at the destruction of the location of Nikmesh's death.
"I want the corpse."
(WHAT?)
"Alright," said Stella with a shrug.
Joseph pointed at the mountain of stone that he had dropped onto the dead god.
ALTER TERRAIN.
The earth and rock before them began to move, uncovering the unblemished body of the god Nikmesh.
He had the face and feet of a boar monster, and the hide and claws of a wolverine.
"What do you intend to do with it?" asked Stella, shoving it into her purse.
"I want to make you some armor with his hide, maybe have the pelt in the throne room, and a new staff from his bones. I haven't decided what to do with the rest of his body, yet."
(I LOVE THE FEAR YOU ARE CAUSING IN THE GODS. IT'S INTOXICATING. I HAVE TO GIVE YOU SOMETHING FOR THIS, BUT I DON'T THINK YOU ARE DOING IT TO INSTILL FEAR IN THEM.)
'I'm not.'
(NURKONG HATES YOU SO MUCH! HAHA!)
(I'M GIVING YOU THE ABILITY TO CRAFT WITH GOD LEVEL MATERIALS! OOOH! NURKONG DIDN'T LIKE THAT! HAHAHA!)
With a shake of his head at the drunken laughter from the system, Joseph took Stella's hand and teleported them back to the castle.
'Joseph, I finally finished some of the spells I was working on,' said Joe, in his head.
'That's great! Are you still mad at me?' Joseph asked, half expecting Joe to disappear again.
'Mad? Shavist! Why would I be mad at you? I've just been really busy. I figured you had enough going on in here, without me adding to your stress.'
'Wow, really?'

"We still can't use any of them to fix mom yet, but I'm working on it!'
Joseph grabbed Stella and twirled her around with a laugh. "I just learned a whole bunch of new spells, getting me a lot closer to fixing mom!"
She laughed, then pulled out of his arms. "I'm glad, but warn me the next time you're going to do that!"
"Do what?" he asked with a mischievous smile.
She laughed, jumping into his shadow as he teleported behind her, and he turned, grabbing her. He let her go immediately, but they both laughed at the fun.
"It's time to go see my dad, to tell him about the law changes, then we can go meet this Mother of Dragons!"
Let me know if you ever have any questions about a scene, I can never tell if I tell it well enough to go from the imagery in my head to on paper.
Thanks Sisniar for the LAW rune idea!
Thanks for reading!
