"Good job on your first mission, both of you!" Najenda congratulated Tatsumi and Valdis as they both reported the success of their missions.

"Hehe, was there any room for a doubt?" Tatsumi raised his head high and asked while throwing a side glance at Akame who seemed to have doubted him before.

Out of nowhere, Akame took his shirt off when his guard was down.

"AAH! What the hell?!" Tatsumi released a high-pitch scream like a girl who someone just walked in on.

"Leone help me hold him down" Akame ignored him and asked for Leone's help who had no qualms about helping her, in fact, it looked like she enjoyed Tatsumi's reactions.

Seeing as everything was happening according to the original, Valdis started slowly retreating to the exit with his back facing the door, just like a true "ninja"

Unfortunately for him, while he was retreating, his eyes met with Najenda's, and a smirk appeared on her face as if she was asking him "Where do you with you are going?"

"No injuries...Mm" Akame nodded with a satisfied smile before a serious expression returned to her face, turning at Valdis who wanted to escape.

"What kind of comrade are you? You let your comrade face the trouble while you try to flee, aren't you a bit too heartless?" Najenda asked with a teasing tone, completely averting Leone's attention from Tatsumi to Valdis. He could even swear that he saw a glint in her eyes.

"I call it advanced tactics of warfare, it's better if we sacrifice one to save the other instead of facing a certain death together." Valdis calmly replied with closed eyes, feeling harboring danger getting near him.

"That's a load of bullshit!" Tatsumi glared at Valdis while covering his half-naked body as much as he could.

"A certain death, huh? Hehe, at least you know your position, I like it~ Let's check whether you have any injuries or not" Leone chuckled, slowly approaching him with a faint blush on her naughty face.

"Hey, Akame said that I am humble and level-headed, so I would certainly report any injuries to you" Valdis raised a valid point since he wanted to avoid being stripped against his will by women.

"Akame-chan says a lot of things and means the other, plus wouldn't it be unfair to Tatsumi if we checked just him?" Leone continued approaching him despite his valid argument.

"Just say you want to see me half-naked!" At this point, Valdis lost his cool and shouted at her.

"Leone, stop playing around" Najenda said as Leone's hands reached Valdis's shirt.

"Tch..." Leone clicked her tongue before pouting while staring at Valdis who released a sigh of relief.

"When the others return, Tatsumi, you will start working under Mine. As for Valdis..." Najenda stopped to think when she thought about who should oversee Valdis.

"How about me, boss?!" Leone raised her hand with a playful smile.

"Rejected!" Without a second of hesitation, Najenda replied.

"Ugh!"

"Actually, I think it might not be a bad idea, boss" Akame actually supported the pair.

"Akame-chan~" Leone looked at her with sparkly eyes, touched by her support.

"I know, I just didn't want to give her satisfaction by agreeing right away" Najenda nodded her head and her words caused Leone's sparkly eyes to become dull.

Valdis obviously didn't object as he was just glad to escape the humiliation of getting forcibly stripped to his underwear. He didn't mind a bit of humiliation as long as it aided his goals just like how he acted all bashful in front of Leone on their first meeting, however, he still had some pride.

'Next, there should be a few more missions that will trigger the prime minister to focus strongly on Night Raid and that woman will also probably arrive shortly after. Then, there is also that Teigu user we will have to kill, Zank was his name if I remember correctly. Tatsumi should get some character development after fighting him and losing to him. While I have no reason to endanger myself...I can't help this urge to fight with him due to his Teigu. His Teigu is practically Sharingan, maybe that's why I feel such a strong urge to test this Teigu against my own Sharingan, however, for that to happen, I will have to become much more powerful.'

"Well, aren't you happy that you get to train and do missions with this beautiful onee-san for the time being?" Leone interrupted Valdis's thoughts as she threw her arm around his neck, pressing her breast against his arm.

"Uh, sure...Please don't go easy on me" Valdis said with a serious expression, determined to train as much during the remaining time he had.

"Oho? I would have never guessed that you have such a side to you..." Leone put her palm over her mouth to hide her grin, however, her teasing tone was enough for Valdis to understand the meaning of her words.

Valdis ignored her words and just urged her to start training, mainly sparring. During the next few days, Valdis focused on strengthening his body while also spending all his points on Body potions.

"Are you sure you aren't going?" Leone asked when they received a mission to get rid of someone important.

"I understand this man named Iokal is a blood relative of the prime minister, however, the entire group is going. I doubt I will make any difference by coming, I think I better spend this time training. Not to mention someone needs to stay here and actually defend the hideout in case of the intruders like the last time." Valdis replied with a focused face while swinging with staff around.

"*Sigh* I can accept your point of protecting the hideout, however, do you really need to train nonstop? You have been making steady progress and now I am not talking about your physical strength but skills with all kinds of weapons. You have already started wielding a spear, short sword, long sword, throwing daggers, dual-daggers, heck, you even had Lubbock teach you some tricks on how to use threads as a hidden weapon. Why do you need to learn how to wield so many weapons?" Leone already accepted his answer and instead just asked a question she has been wondering about the past few days.

'I might have said steady progress, however, the time he uses to learn basics for each weapon is ridiculously short! In my eyes, he even slightly resembles Bulat when he is wielding a spear. Some people take years to just perfect their basics wielding only one or two different weapons. Hell, even his body is quickly getting accustomed to fighting, his muscles are more and more refined every time I see him!' Leone was actually quite shocked at Valdis's quick improvement, however, Najenda and Akame told her to be careful not to praise him too much.

"To grow stronger, if I will know how to wield every weapon, I will naturally know their weakness and strong point and how to counter them." Valdis explained, without stopping his training.

"...Do as you will. Take care of the hideout while we will be out." Leone shook her head and left the training ground

'...I got closer to everyone but I still have a feeling that they are keeping an eye on me. Maybe the original plot will change and someone will stay behind just to secretly watch my behavior. They would obviously do nothing against me without any solid evidence even if they feel natural uneasiness around me. Skipping matter about Zank, should I save Sheele to try to finally get their trust or should I let the original plot do its thing to get rid of one of my future enemies?' For Valdis, getting their trust would be much more essential for his future plans than letting one of his future enemies die, not even by his hands at that. The problem was the natural uneasiness all the good guys were feeling around him, it might go away or they might choose to completely ignore it after he saves Sheele but the real problem is the word "might"

'What a dilemma, so many possibilities, so many methods to develop the plot and change the original plot, however...I don't find it troublesome at all! In fact, it's fun, controlling the fates of the others that is!' Valdis thought while rapidly swinging around with the spear, slashing the falling leaves with a slightly crazy smile.
