A Thousand Words Left Unsaid

Have you ever got the feeling of familiarity when meeting someone new? A strange irony, isn’t it? Going through it immerses one in a feeling of deja vu. There’s this inexplicable sentiment wherein time stops and everything seems worthless; incomparable to the moment which is about to occur. But for the ones who posses the abilities of an oracle, these moments are merely foreshadowing- a portal, rather; a bridge connecting the gap between the present and the future.

Great Release

"Ah, I'm sorry.." Anna pulled back in embarrassment, trying to break out of Khai's embrace.

"Take it easy."

Khai's hand reached for her back, enclosing her tighter.

"Ahn," Anna was even more embarrassed. As a shy girl, she couldn't help but to feel uneasy within a stranger's arms.

But.. thinking about it now, they weren't strangers..

And more importantly, she voluntarily cried on the person's chest for who knew how long now.

"Uhm.." She wanted to ask how long she cried but she didn't know how to word it out.

"Here," Khai offered her the water he previously gave her, thinking that she had a hard time talking.

"It's okay, don't rush. You just cried for an hour, uninterrupted.." He added, thinking that he should inform her of the time to somehow get her to relax.

However, instead of relaxing, the girl almost spat her drink out.

'WHAT?' An hour?

Trembling, Anna apologized, "I'm sorry,"

"Hey, hey." Khai patted her head, "Everything's alright, you didn't do anything wrong."

"Mhm, thank you.."

Still in his embrace, Anna snuggled closer.

'Cute..'

It was like coaxing his little brother, he would also snuggle up close to him whenever he'd cry.

They were like kittens that found their favorite bed.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

A sudden vibration in Anna's pocket zapped her back to her senses.

"Ahn," Anna grunted, "Can you move your arm, please?"

Khai's arms were tightly wrapped around her, so much so that she couldn't reach for her pockets.

"O-oh, yeah, sorry.." He immediately loosened his arms, allowing her to put some distance between them.

''Swollen..'

It was his first time seeing her face since she first started crying.

For a person who just cried an hour straight, Khai was somewhat shocked that her eyes weren't as swollen as he thought they'd be.

["Where are you? Didn't you say that you'd go to the clinic? Why aren't you here?"]

'Ah.'

Khai and Anna simultaneously panicked.

He opened his phone and checked the time.

"Motherfucker.." He mumbled as he showed his phone to Anna.

[11:05]

["Hey! Anna! Are you there?"]

From the voice, Khai could tell that the caller was Link.

"Y-Yeah! I'm here! W-what's up?"

He noticed that Anna was having difficulties in speaking, her voice was still not stable and hoarse.

["I'm here at the clinic but I don't see you anywhere, what are you guys doing?"]

Thankfully, it seemed that Link was unable to pick up on her strange voice on the other end of the line.

"Is he aware of your dreams and that you informed me about it?" Khai whispered.

"No!" Anna fervently shook her head.

'That makes things more complicated..' Khai thought.

["What? I can't hear you properly."] Link's voice sounded out once more.

It seemed he heard their short interaction.

Anna looked at him, her eyes were practically begging him for assistance.

'Ah, Uh'

Khai, not knowing what else he could say, quickly mouthed, "Tell him I'm busy!"

"What?" Out of panick, Anna let her voice out.

["What?"] Link, who heard it on the other side of the phone, began to worry. ["Where are you?"]

'F*ck' Khai was agitated; they couldn't let Link suspect anything!

For him, the best case scenario was for them to keep their situation under tight covers.

He got up from the bed and started to sit on empty air, trying to show her something.

'What is he doing? At a time like this?' Anna wanted to burst out in tears but she already ran out of water.

Khai too, was perplexed. 'How can she not understand?'

He quickly pointed at himself.

"You?" She mouthed.

"Yes! Yes!" Khai's ecstasy almost bursted through the roof.

While pointing at himself, he suddenly..

sat on empty air again.

'What the duck!'

At this point, Anna was on the verge of breaking down.

What the hell is he sitting on empty air for?

"What?"

"Ugh." Getting frustrated by her response, Khai breathed in and prepared himself.

'Dignity is nothing!'

While sitting on empty air, he reached his hands in his ass and pretended to take something out of it.

"Ah! What the-" Anna was shocked, almost getting genuinely scared.

However, Khai was not done yet.

With the same hand he used to touch his ass, he retrieved it and put it under his nose, seemingly smelling it and showing a face of disgust.

["Hey! Anna! Where are you!? Answer me!"] Getting no responses and mere sounds from Anna, Link's voice lost their jolly tune.

'Motherf*cker' Khai almost knelt down in exasperation.

"Ah!" An idea popped up in his head.

He typed something in his phone and showed it to Anna.

[Tell him that I'm taking a sh*t.]

'Ah!' A look of realization appeared on her face and Khai was finally able to let out a sigh of relief.

"Cough* cough*. Sorry brother."

Anna tried to sound better, clearing her throat and making her voice sound normal.

'Eh?' Khai suddenly had a bad premonition.

Why did Anna suddenly smile?

With a sly grin that she proudly wore in front of Khai, she continued, "Khai is taking a shit, it's so smelly!"

Ah!

["Ah, what?"] Link was as stunned as him.

"We're in the restroom, I'm waiting for him outside!" She continued without any remorse.

"Ha?"

"Wait, let me try to call him!" She got up and opened the door outside, "Khai!"

"Hey!" Khai wanted to stop her, but remembered that Link could hear them.

That wasn't the end.

Click.

The door to a room not to far away opened and a bunch of youths came out.

"That's so nasty, man! I didn't expect him to be this shameless, that shithead was something else!"

"Good thing we got out of that unscathed."

"For real! I thought I saw the light for a moment there!"

To Khai, who was present, the conversation that he just heard was about a game they were holding, each with a controller.

It seemed that they entered one dorm together to play within one set area.

But to Link, who was listening through the phone, he only managed to hear bits and pieces.

'Nasty? Are these the people who are there with them?'

'Shit.. something else? Does Khai's shit smell that bad?'

'Unscathed, light?' The more Link listened, the more his back was drenched with sweat.

'Did Khai release a holy shit or something?'

"A-anyway, I'm going to wait for him here, where are you?" Hearing the other line's silence, Anna inwardly heaved a sigh of relief.

She looked at Khai proudly, seemingly asking for praises. 'Wasn't I great? I managed to handle the situation!'

"Ah.." Khai was speechless.

He wanted to say so many things but nothing came out.

'Good job,' He could only present her with a thumbs up.

["Uh, I'm still here, at the clinic."] Link answered. But truthfully, he was on his way towards the boys' dormitory.

He was worried that something might've happened; but to think it was just a great release by Khai.

He stopped walking and decided. 'I'm just going to stay here and wait for them.'

He was scared that he might see Khai differently if he were to smell his godly shit that could even make passersby nervous.

["Just let me know when he's finished.."]

"Yeah! He's been there for a while, I think he's finishing up now."

["Mhm. Try to wait further away, aight?"]

"Okay!"

["Oh, and.. When he comes out, it'll be better if you don't mention the bad odor, it might make him insecure."]

"I got it." Anna resolutely said, almost believing her own lies.

["Aight, Take care."]

When Link hung up the phone, he only had one thought it mind, "scary".
