Chapter Four : A So Called Debut

The day began with being handled by the maids since dawn. I thought such a busy schedule would only be for people getting married, not for a debut!

I WANT TO RUN AWAY ASAP!

"Well you're a princess so bear with it today, your highness", said Mathel.

"So you can read minds now?"

"Oh seeing you just reminded me of how prince June and Aaron were at their debut ball", She softly smiles as if reminiscing some fond memories. I believe it must have been cute. I wasn't able to attend because of his majesty so I don't know. I wish I rebelled a bit back then rather than trying to play the role of a good grateful daughter.

" It's almost time! How long is it going to take, Milly!" I kept whinning. The maids were the one preparing me but somehow I was the one getting exhausted.

"Please, your Highness. You need to look just the best today!" Milly replied enthusiastically. There are so many maids. Though I have learned most of their names. Milly's the only one who doesn't hesitates to scold me from time to time. Therefore she's mostly in charge of preparing me.

"Are you not going to do my hair?" I asked seeing as to they didn't tie it up yet. I know I won't be late but still.

"Oh, you're the star today your highness. So doing this is going to compliment your beauty even more! We need to show off your beautiful white curls!" Milly sure is more excited about this than me.

I pout. Liliane is so pretty enough already. What more is she supposed to show off? They finish doing my makeup as lightly as possible per my request. I never liked heavy makeup. Just enough to show I'm wearing makeup that won't be noticed easily. When they are finally done. I get up and check myself for one last time.

Mathel braided my upper side of the hair. Like those half side braids on both sides and added some yellow pearls. The rest of the hair Isn't tied up per Milly's request. I really did a good job letting the hair grow. It's long till my waist line. And since I was busy I let Mathel and Milly choose the outfit for today while I had only one requirement. It had to be blue. They chose a blue that resembles my eye color. Such a beautiful shade of blue that's so light yet still holds a dark shade. Though if you don't look close enough, it will seem just like a mid blue. One side is sleeveless while the other part has frills with a darker shade of blue. The same shade is used on frills at the end of the dress with another layer of clothing that is white. My waist line could be seen perfectly yet the dress wasn't too tight.

I'm so glad that I don't have to wear a corset. I do a little spin to enjoy the frills that the dress has at the end. Which definitely makes me seem like a kid. The maids and Mathel giggle at the sight of me. I blush a little in embarrassment. "I-i just really like the frills okay!" I say to hide my embarrassment.

Milly shifts my focus to the mirror and says, "We know. We also knew this dress would compliment your beauty so much, princess Liliane."

"You're so right", I stare at myself for a moment before noticing something missing. "The earrings are yellow? A weird set Isn't it?" I ask them.

"We couldn't find the perfect shade of blue to match the dress, princess", Mathel answers my question.

"It's still so lovely, Mathel. I believe you were the one to choose such a light yellow jewelry."

"You're right, princess", she smiles.

*Knock knock*

"I'm coming in, Liliane", Aaron comes in without waiting for a response.

"You need to work on your manners, brother", I say.

"What's the need for formality between family?"

I wanted to answer saying because we are royalty but I just couldn't. Since I'm always annoying Mathel and the maids to not worry about formality. "At least wait for a response. What if I was still getting dressed?"

He pretends not to listen to me, "Blah blah~"

I glare at him. "I came to pick you and you keep nagging me so much. Why are you and June so alike?"

"We are not."

"Whatever you say", he shrugs off.

He guides me to the ballroom as my partner. As we arrive, our arrival is annouced and the ones attending bow before us except June and his majesty Arian.

June and Aaron almost had a big fight deciding who was going to be my partner tonight. I had to cool them down saying one could be my partner and another my first dance for today. I know no other nobleman so being with my family is the safest option. Father didn't seem to complain either.

They still went overboard. After a little game decided by me, Aaron was selected to be my partner while June to be my first dance. Aaron did his hair neatly today and is wearing a yellow outfit. I'm surprised he managed to pull off such a color with his red hair.

While June was wearing a dark shade of blue. The same blue that matches his hair. Maybe I should have taken some time off to choose their outfits myself. Yet they still manage to slay. Their looks are to thank for. Definitely a win for me to witness in my daily life here.

After a boring long session of being greeting guests and his majesty's speech. The time finally came for the first dance. As decided before, June asks me for one. Great choice we made there, Aaron couldn't have pulled this off. The mannerism part, I mean.

I take his hand and we start off a little simple. This surely wasn't planned. I look at his face in confusion. "I thought you were tired", he replies seeing my expression.

When I glance at other people watching us, I notice them being mesmerized. I understand their emotions a little. I wish I could see in 3rd person right now. June and I kind of match right now so of course this dance is going compliment our beauty even more. I could hear some people whispering.

— " Who knew the princess would be so beautiful? Since you know, she never showed her face before."

— "They sure are siblings. Look at how well they dance together."

— "Everything just seems to compliment them"

— "Must be nice to have a brother like them"

— "She's really adored!"

Agh, people sure love to talk. I forgot these rich people got nothing better to do than gossip because of their lavish lifestyle. As long as I don't have bad reputation, I should just bear with it. Yeah, Lily just consider them fan-girling like you used to. Soon, the dance comes to an end.

I waste my time with a drink in the balcony to hide from others. Since I don't plan to dance with anyone but my brothers today. After the time came for a last dance, I danced it with Aaron and soon left the ballroom. They really don't know how to chill or something. These people kept complimenting me and my brothers so much that it's creepy. Probably trying to gain some favor, sigh. Surely didn't feel much special like how they describe or show in novels. The environment was pretty enough though.
