“Will there ever be a right time and place?” Dirk asked.
“I think so,” Bay replied, kissing his forehead. “For now, though—”
“Follow Dr. Nina’s orders and get some sleep.”
“Exactly. I’ll see you in the morning.” Bay started toward the door, stopped, then came back. “Havefaith in yourself, Dirk, and in all of us. We will prevail.”
“Cliché number three, or was it four?” Dirk asked, the corner of his mouth quirking up.
“Let’s call it three and a half,” Bay retorted with a grin. Then he left the room, quietly closing the door behind him.
“I’m in so much trouble,” Bay said under his breath, as he went into his bedroom. He’s becoming too important to me, in too short a time. We don’t even know each other. Not the way we should. We’re two guys, thrown together because of the situation. That’s not a valid reason to think there could be more than merely friendship between us. Time will tell, I guess. He chuckled softly. “Cliché number four, or was it five?”
