A new beginning.

Have you ever questioned what would happen after you die? It is a great mystery many would have thought of at least once in their lifetime. I certainly was not an exception to this as well. While there are many beliefs about the afterlife, I thought once you meet death, it is game over. You return to absolute nothingness. No thoughts, no sight or sound, nothing at all. The state you were in prior to your birth. 

I would have continued to hold onto this belief if I did not clearly remember being crushed to death by a truck while trying to walk my dog around 4 am. It is unusual to do it at 4am, but I have been doing it for a year, so it's a habit I made after getting my dog. Other than the paranoia you get of someone behind you, walking your dog at that time is not as bad as one would expect as it is very peaceful and relaxing. The morning cold fresh air gently blowing past by your skin is very nice and refreshing. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the high-speed truck that was recklessly heading toward me from behind while I was preoccupied enjoying myself. 

By the time I heard the loud horn and its tires screeching, it was already too late. The impact from the truck sent me flying across the streets. The world became a blur and the unbearable agony during the last moments of life felt like an eternity. I can still vividly remember the sounds of my bones being shattered and the pavement I lay upon painted in deep red. I knew I would not survive. I hope my dog, Goofy, did not have the same fate as me. Before losing my consciousness, the image of my Mum and Dad flashed into my mind. Regret slowly began to creep into my heart as the plans I made to spend more time to take care of them would ultimately fail. I was a researcher in finding cures for many diseases, which made me have less time to spend with my family. While I was with them, did I manage to show how much I loved them? 'I am sorry...' Those were my last thoughts as drop of tears slowly fell from my eyes before I died. My vision darkened as I lay alone on the cold pavement. 

Yes, I was supposed to be dead. But why was I here. This place was beyond immense. Everywhere I looked, the water stretched endlessly, reflecting the bright blue sky with fluffy clouds. The mirror-like environment was out of this world, giving a magical atmosphere. 

'This place is beautiful.' It's been an hour since I came here and have accepted my death. 

'But why am I here?' 

*Cough* *Cough* "It is because I summoned you here, my child" 

Vigilantly, I shifted towards the source of the voice that answered my thought. There stood a 'being' with shape of a human, emitting a golden radiance. No matter how much I tried, I failed to see its appearance. 

"There are unaccountable numbers of people who have stood before me, yet none were as quick as you to accept their death." The mysterious entity spoke with a hint of interest. 

It wasn't easy leaving your loved ones behind, but you must start to think about the present rather than then clinging to the past. 

"Past is past. There is no point in sulking over a situation I cannot change. But is there a reason for me to be summoned here? Sir? God?" As I heard the confirmation of my death, I couldn't help but wonder what will happen. 

"Yes, my child. I am God with three O's." My eyes widened and my jaw dropped immediately once I heard this. 

"I summoned you because of the positive karma you have accumulated during your life. Be it from the small kind actions you have done or to your immense contribution in finding a cure to cancer" 

"People with positive karma are sent to Heaven. But my child, you are an exception. With that amount of karma you have, you can reincarnate into any world with your memory and a gift that will help you not only survive, but also thrive. The world you will reincarnate will be chosen in random, and they even include fictional ones." God patiently waits for my response. 

"Fictional worlds are real?" I couldn't help but question on the idea that all stories I've read exist. 

"It is as real as you are, my child. Those worlds have existed from the beginning. You came to know them because your Earth is very special as it allows certain people to see 'stories' of people from different world through their dreams." 

"Then I would like to reincarnate please." The idea of experiencing new world is exhilarating 

"Now then, let us proceed to the next step" The God smiles as he manifests a gigantic golden wheel out of thin air. The wheel contained names. From the looks, I could find it was mostly from anime, comics and novels as I could recognize most of them. 

"This wheel will determine the world you will reincarnate to. Let's begin." I couldn't help but clench my hand tightly in excitement thinking of the world I will reincarnate to. The wheel started spinning rapidly and this excitement did not last long when I saw some of the worlds the arrow went pass by. I stared at the wheel in horror as cold sweat began to form on my forehead every time the arrow would point at the world such as Reverend insanity, Marvel, DC, SCP, Macroverse, Lovecraft and more. Of course everyone would. No one would be willing to go to these horrifying worlds willingly, unless you weren't right in your head. If I was given a choice, I would rather choose the worlds I saw in the wheel like Lookism, Vinland, One piece, Overlord, Naruto, Frieren and Hunter X Hunter. 

The wheel gradually began to slow down, and it eventually stopped at Dragon Ball. I stood staring at the wheel as if my soul left the body. 

'Yessss, a totally safe place.' I cry as I try to convince myself to feel better. I know Dragon ball has a blue lemon like head toddler with a power to delete universe. Yep, delete. With the rise of his tiny hand, the universe is erased from existence. But compared to worlds I could have gone to; Dragon ball seems like a trip to a vacation. Yep, I am definitely not lying to myself. 

Dragon ball was one of the anime I watched since my childhood.Shooting Kamehameha at a young ageis a canon event whichevery fans have gone through at least once in their childhood. Not to mention the fact that I could also take advantage of the future knowledge for my own benefit. I try to be positive not to have mental breakdown 

The God smiles seeing my various emotions in a few minutes. 'He' then proceeds to summon another golden square box with a hole on top of it. To be more specific, it looked like a lottery box that is used for entertainment purposes. 

"This box will decide the power you will receive on your next journey. Although this box is small, the space inside is limitless, with many papers scattered that contain many powers. They are strong and weak, but useful, nonetheless. You shall only pull one. It all depends on your luck, Now Child, go ahead, see what power you will get" The golden box floats towards. I stretch my left hand into the box, moving it across the infinite space. Many papers hit me before I grasp one at random. I shut my eyes tight and pray that it is something good. 

'Please Lady Luck, bless me!' Slowly opening my eyes, I observe the paper in hand that contained 2 words, GAMER SYSTEM. 

Gamer System. Gamer system. It's the FUCKIINGGG Gamer system!!!!! "Let's gooooo!" Unable to contain my pure excitement, I clenched my fist and jumped with joy. With this power I will have limitless potential. 

"I suppose The Gamer System is indeed powerful if used correctly. With it you could even face those Gods from that world. I am happy for you, my child. But most importantly, this gamer system is not exactly the same as the one you know because it will change to suit the power system of Dragon ball world. You will know once you use it there." The God explains as he snaps his fingers and makes the wheel and box disappear. 

"Thank you. I really appreciate the opportunity you have given me." I bow my head in deep gratitude. 

"You are welcome, my child. But you are meant for this opportunity given your high amount of positive karma. Also, I have blessed your family to have a long fulfilling life, so you can live your new life without any worries." I thank 'him' in gratitude as 'he' smiles and makes a door appear. 

"This door is a gateway to another world. Once you cross this door, you will reincarnate into the world of Dragon ball." Once I heard this, I moved towards it. The door is about 7 feet tall carved with mysterious symbols that appear to contain strong power. 

I held the door's knob and opened it to see a kaleidoscopic swirl. It looked truly beautiful. I face towards God with a smile and give a nod before stepping into the door without hesitation. 

"Also, your dog, Goofy is still alive and well." Hearing this, my smile further widened as my soul gets pulled deeper into kaleidoscopic swirl to reincarnate into a new world.
